As a teacher, I've been busy preparing for fall, too. Summer just seems too short!

Had a good WI this week, down 2.6! I passed my labour day goal this week! The workout video I shook the dust off has really made a difference. :jig:

The garden is producing so much good stuff. Yesterday I had fresh tomatoes on toast, fresh corn-on-the-cob, and fresh watermelon! YUM. :hun:

Ugh to last year's pictures, I agree Sherry! I had a roll of film in the camera for over a year, and I just got it developed last week. Last year's vacation pictures have this huge guy and gal in them, who I hardly recognize anymore compared to the way my DH and I look now!

I have a question

My journey began in February. I have lost almost 40 lbs total. I decided to join WW for the support and I have now been on Flex for 5 weeks. At first I lost 3-4 lbs per week. I have a lot to lose. Last week my loss was 1.4....that was Thursday. I weighed this morning and I am 1 pound heavier and have not lost for over a week. I follow the program very carefully, making sure I eat my target points and rarely use any flex points. I walk a mile every single morning. Is it normal to plauteau like this. My daughter is on the same and is losing 4-6 lbs a week. I can see the inches leaving but the lbs seem to be hangign on???

Thanks, Katy

Hi katy,

Talk to your leader about plateaus, leaders have a sheet about suggestions for getting off a plateau.

You said that you hardly eat your flex points, and I have heard a lot of people say that not eating them can really slow down your metabolism, so that you burn fat much slower. Try eating more of those points, and increase the intensity of your walks (power walk...work up a sweat!), so that your metabolism speeds up.

When I plateuxed (1 pound or less per week), I increased the intensity of my workouts, and that did the trick. BTW, I eat about 2/3 of my flex points.

Hello fellow flexers!
Katy: I totally agree with Allie about you needing to speak with your leader. They are there for more then just to speak to the group as a whole. Unfortuantly, if your meeting is anything like mine, there is always 2 or 3 groupies who hang out afterwards to talk to the leader EVERY WEEK!! This gets really old, especially when it is the same people week after week, and they are discussing things that we already went over in the meeting. ANYWAY, if you have the same problem in your meetings, I would ask your leader when she weighs you in if you can speak to her privately after the meeting about some concerns you have. Also, WW only suggest you lose 1-2 pounds a week, it really isn't healthy to be losing large amounts of weight every week. Don't get too discouraged! :goodluck:

I had a great WI this week, I lost 3.5 pounds and am feeling great. :goodscale I do have to change meeting days/times because of a change in my work schedule. My little girl is starting kindergarten this Friday! And I am working a little differently so I can be home when she gets on/off the bus. So...think of me this friday, I am sure it will be an emotional day!

Hello everyone!

I'm back from holiday and had a wonderful time. :D
I managed to walk a lot, do some pilates in my room in the am but did not make it to the pool. I ate pretty well and stayed the same weightwise.

Now I just have to get back into my normal eating and exercising routine. I always get thrown off track for the 1st week after getting back from a vacation

Good Afternoon Ladies

Well it is really lousy here     - torrential rains and has been just awful all week. Supposed to clear tomorrow for the weekend

I have been having a good day OP today but last nite was not too great. Went out to DS's girlfriends parents for supper and had a couple of drinks plus a really nice dessert that DS's GF made.

Oh well I am not going to obsess - I went back and checked my stats for the summer. Since June 20 I am down about 4 lbs :jig: :jig: :jig: which although not great is not horrilbe either. So my game plan is to lose 6-8 by Sept 21 which will be the official end of summer. That gives me 4 weeks so it should be do able if I just get my head back on right :twirly: :twirly:

I just can't seem to get with it over summer.

Hope you are all having a great day
I really feel like I am starting to QUACK!!!

:dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum I have been doing LAWL and decided I really don't care for it so I am back to WW. I just wanted to drop in and say hello.

WDWErin 08-27-2005 05:37 PM

Hi, Haylo! Welcome to back to WW! Looks like you did alright on LAWL - 14 pounds? That's excellent!!!

:c)

haylo921 08-29-2005 12:51 PM

Erin, I did do okay on LAWL but the diet is very boring and there is no variety. Also I did gain some weight back because I had fallen off plan but I just haven't move my ticket back up.
