Those times when I'm having trouble staying OP it helps if I write out a bunch of motivational messages and put them up all over the kitchen. I have a great big poster that says "No food is as satisfying as being thin" that goes over the cupboard where the cookies and chips are. It helps keep me out of there. My family just shake their heads when I do it, but they don't complain.

A quote by an unknown author always motivates me...and helps me stay in line .It is this:

"Think about what you want the MOST instead of what you want at the moment!"................if what I am about to eat or what I am thinking gets in the way of me losing weight...........I think about what I want the most..the feeling of being at goal and my clothes fitting and the fact I feel GOOD about me!

Also "What you think about is what you BRING about!!"

Hope this is helpful.

IF you will follow the WW plan as it is written and as close to the guidelines as possible.......the weight will come off and THAT itself WILL MOTIVATE and keep you "pumped" all the time!

Good Luck!

I just want to say thanks for the great ideas!!! I was definately in need of some motivation!!!

Snookems- I love your idea of figuring out weekly points. Thanks to you, I just finished my first OP week in months. (I had two days that were over points and in the past I would have just decided that I'd blown it and it would take a while to try to get back on track. This time I just added up those points and subtracted them from my total and realized I could still have a good week!)

Jan- I also liked your idea to do something for every day on program. I have a jar in my bathroom and add a colorful "gem" to it for each pound that I lose but needed something more. Now, I also have a jar in my kitchen and I bought some pretty marbles and I add a marble for each OP day.
Also, congrats on going from a size 24 to a 12. That is awesome!!!! (I hope to be there someday.)

Thanks so much.....I usually just read the posts but had to let you know how much you've helped.

Molly

Default Getting Motivated

Lucky Red, instead of finding ways that you can't exercise, find some ways that you can . Isn't your 5 yr old in kindergarten? Isn't there a neighbor who you can trade baby sitting with for a 1/2 hour or an hour? Do you go to W W classes? Make friends with another who has a toddler and make plans to go to a park together. Do you work, walk on your lunch hour.

Did I also pick up that in three days you had lost 3 pounds. Get rid of the scale, only weigh once a week, preferably at your W W class. The scale will drive you crazy. If you're up a bit, you'll think, oh well what difference does it make, I'll just not count points today or if you're down, oh well I've done good today I can have that extra what ever. This is not a race to see how fast you can lose the weight but a slow healthy food plan to teach you to eat healthier for the rest of your life and to lose weight as you learn.

You can do this. You started W W for a reason. keep reminding yourself what that reason was. Look at your little girl and know you want her to eat healthy and you want her mommy to be healthy too.
