Question WW at Home? Or WW Online?

Hello all...

I'm wondering how many of you are going to the meetings vs. just doing it alone.. There is a program called WW at Home I'm thinking about doing.. Anyone else around tried this?

I didn't really like the meetings.. I don't feel like I get any support there.. No one was even a little friendly .. and it was very "clique-y" but I think this program is pretty good.. I'll just need to get my support somewhere else.

Hi Jackie!
I'm currently doing WW online. It's $14.95/mth and you get to use all their tools online. They also have a recipe builder where you can put your recipes in and it figures the points for you. That's my accountability...getting online, journalling, figuring points and putting my weight in every week. I thought about just doing WW @ Home with the kit but I like the interactive things on the website.
I agree with you about the meetings. It wasn't as much about people not being friendly but I just didn't feel like it was worth the money. I worried about weighing in at home and stuff but I've made it a routine and I feel just as accountable as if I was going to meetings. Also for support, I try to post of various websites and have email buddies, that way you get the support that you need!
Hope some of this helps!! Good luck!

Hi Jackie

I joined online a week ago Wednesday.......so far so good. Im liking it alot!!!

I chose to go this route, because I KNOW that I would go to a few meetings, then drop out. Ive never been a meeting type person, and Im accountable to only myself. I dont have to face anyone if my weight goes up or stays the same. Privacy...its a wonderful thing lol

Hi Jackie, great to know that you are considering WW again. It is a great way to lose weight, but we all have to find our own way of doing it. I do attend the meetings, the one I go to is a very friendly place, but I do also seek support elsewhere, particularly on the other thread on this site, 'Lets support each other II...'. There are a few of us posting on there, and I believe we are offering each other the way forward, and help in keeping going, especially on those tough days. Check it out, we are a friendly bunch really...even if half the time, we aren't even chatting about our weight loss. It can just help to feel that there are others out there that are your friends and know how you are feeling, especially on those tough days.
Anyway, whichever way that you decide to go, I wish you all the luck in the world, and yes, the WW programme really does work!
( Good luck to Robin too, the first couple of weeks are always the toughest as you figure out what you can get away with for your points allowance, but WW is the easiest and by far the most, dare I say, fun, diet that I have ever followed.)

If I can do it, anyone can!

Well.. I think I'm going to give the WW Online a shot.

I do like the program.. the meetings just seemed to get to me.. mostly because I thought going there would be a great support and I didn't get any! Oh well.. Live and Learn and maybe I can get my support here.

Hi everyone!
I just joined 3FC and am going to my first WW meeting this evening. I debated about doing it online or attending meetings. Me personally, I think (hope) I can get the support I need by attending the meetings. I don't know many people where I live and it would be nice to meet a few other people that have weight to lose and are going through the same ups and downs that I am. I look forward to participating in more posts too. Good luck to all.

I am very lucky that my company is large enough to offer WW @ Work. I also attend meetings with my daughter who is on the regular plan. I know some of my coworkers have quit because they don't like the 'cheering' and 'clapping' but I like it and have lost quite a bit of weight since January I am down to the final 25 pounds and it has been such a long journey...but well worth it!

Default Question about online?

I just joined the online program. Sorry if this was already discussed but does any one know if it will automatically change to the new plan after 8/22? I want to give the new plan a try.
Thanks in advance.

I like going to the meetings but it is so far away and I can't find anyone to travel with me so I'm doing it at home alone. Maybe I will try online. Does it give the meeting information (materials as well as discussion) just like a leader would? It's a little higher than the meeting but when you factor in gas at today's prices and comfort of being at home I think it evens out. Maybe I'll give it a try!

Hi, I'm new here, but have done WW both ways. The online is actually cheaper, 15.95 a MONTH. I like all the tools, but fell off the wagon. I'm ready to start again and curious about the new plan. CW227, goal 150 by next June, my daughter's wedding. Ex-DH will obviously be there!! I used meetings a few years ago right after my divorce and lost 35. Tried again last June and hated the meetings. I will probably rejoin on line after the new plan is unveiled. I also look forward to support from all of you! Hope I'll have something to offer also. Andrea
