Cool New from Texas

Hi All,

I'm Lisa from Houston, Texas and I was happy to find this site and this forum. After reaching my heaviest weight, I woke up one morning last month and decided enough was enough. I am just not comfortable with my body anymore so it's time to do something about it. I started WW that day on February 18, 2004. Like a lot of people, I have to pay someone else so I can lose weight. Go figure! lol Good news is that I'm down 19lb's as of last Thursday so I'm here looking for tips and support from others on the plan to keep my momentum up. I've got about 75lb's to go to get to 'my' ideal weight and I don't want to get bored doing what I'm doing every day.

I'm also looking for an exercise or WW buddy if anyone is in the Houston area. I do most of my exercise outside with my 2 dogs and yoga inside, but am always looking for new ways to make exercise fun. I can't say that I hate it, but getting my butt motivated to sweat even more than I do with the hot flashes is sometimes really tough and having someone else to conspire with is always more fun.

That's it for now. Glad to be here and I look forward to being a part of this group.

Welcome!

It sounds like you're off to a great start! It's a little bit of a commute from Boston, but hopefully you'll find someone close by, though it sounds like you're getting more exercise than I am at the moment!

You're made a good start, and the best way to avoid getting bored is to check out the new foods and suggestions from others - it can keep things interesting as you head down the scales.

Hi
Im not in Texas, but Im on WW.
Im 22, married 2 years, mother of 10 month old Abby, and have about 60 lbs to go. I dont go to the meetings (too expensive) so I come here to check in and keep my self on track. You'll like 3FC for the support.
Good luck with your journey!!

You're off to the right start...WW that is...if you stick to it, and really make it part of your life and habits...you'll be successful, no doubt!!!
My most helpful advice I could give you from my past experience, is journal: you bite it- you write it, you nibble it- you scribble it, you drink it- you ink it!!!!! Every little bit counts.
2nd- remember to drink your water, and that's not always just boring ol water....you can have lemon in it, or decaff flavored coffees or teas...just remember you still have to count the calories and pts if they have them. I try not to ever "drink" my calories, unless it's the occasional glass of milk....most times I just get that in my cereal, or have a yogurt for the calcium....those two pts are hard to just drink away.
Also remember that if you fill your points with fruits and veggies that you'll stay more full and satisfied....although there are so many yummy low pt options if you have a sweet tooth.... like skinny cow ice cream sandwiches for 2pts, or 1 cup of sugar free jello with a dollap of ff whipcream...it's either free or one pt, I do mixed berries and yogurt parfaits alot.....put one cup of mixed berries( I get schwan's, it's just convenient) and mix in one fat free yogurt(usually vanilla creme) and it's 3 pts, but yummy and satisfying, you can add a little granola or dry cereal on top for another pt or so.
Hope these ideas help ya out!!!
