Wow, what a quiet day it is here!
I WI on a friend's scale, and was disappointed. According to it, I have only lost 5 lbs. Usually I do so much better the first week! But, I have been doing WW on and off and going to the gym all month- so maybe I just won't have a big loss the first week. I will see what the official WW scale says next week!
I used a bunch of my leftover flex pts tonight, on a chocolate bar and an easter egg. I love chocolate. And Flex Pts too!
How is everyone else doing?

Hey all. My hubby had a talk with me because I am so down about my extra weight right now. I just can't seem to get this PG weight off for the life of me. OK, yes I know I could try harder... I know that. But this time it is not the same for me. So I just keep plugging away. The positive part is that I am not gaining. I have maintained this 9 pound loss for 4 months. That is so good! Now I just need to get back to it! My downfall is evening dinners. I get hungry when I get home from work and just want to chow. I sometimes get very busy at work and don't remember or have time for an afternoon snack.

So that is me. We are planning to hit the gym at lunch again!

Jen- Hang in there If it helps any, you are not alone! I lost my PG weight, but only for a couple months, then come of it came back. And it is stuck! You should be very happy that you are able to maintain. I know what you mean about getting home from work and being starving. I was always like that too. Try to remember a snack- preferably one with some protein. That might help!
Have a good day!

Yah, Tara, I know I'm not alone. I am just frustrated. I know that I am on the right track lately. I have been trying really hard to exercise 3 days a week minimum and drinking my water and eating more veggies. All of this used to be a breeze before I had 2 kids!!! OH and I do need to make sure I eat protein because I have problems with low blood sugar and too many carbs causes my sugars to spike and fall.

I think the worst part is that I am scared. A co-worker of mine lost her husband the day after Christmas to a massive heart attack. Totally unexpected. Now my aunt who has been anorexic her whole life is in massive kidney shutdown. Also, another guy I work with has had 2 heart surgeries for blocked arteries. And my dad had a minor heart attack. And my mom is a 2 time cancer survivor! This is just my side of the family. Hubbies is worse and I don't want to end up like this!! So I really want to be healthy more than skinny!!

OK, got that out. Now in an hour I am off to the gym. I am going to do weight training today, yesterday I did aerobic. Muscle helps burn fat!!!

DRINK YOUR WATER TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any thoughts on good low point snacks?????????????

Tara, did I have bad PPD? It was and still is awful. I wouldn't wish it on an enemy I was doing good now for 2 1/2 months and then it slowly started to go down that awful road again. The worst part is that I make my DH miserable.
You are doing great, now don't you be silly, 5 pounds in a week is amazing! I never lost that much my first week at WW ( I think it was 2). Wow, you should be so happy. It's not such a big change for you from what you were doing before so maybe that's why you didn't have the results you were expecting. Did you take it off of your signature yet? Or are you waiting for the Official WI?
Yummm...you had chocolate, I love chocolate. Why can't that be 0 points? Now I would be melting away if that was the case
The soup was the one from the WW book. I like it, had some leftovers today, as I had a big breakfast (5point). I like to use my points later in the day.
Do you stay a lifetime member even if you go above your goal? How does that work?
Wow, your girl is talking and using the potty. That's must be exciting stuff. My DS (9months) is just starting to pull himself up on furniture (and me if I'm close enough). He's rather speedy in his walker, has it all figured out now.
How did you do with your pizza supper? If you know it's coming it's easier to plan for with points saved. It's those spur of the moment things that throw me off (okay and my lack of dedication and self control ) Tara, you've had so many OP days in a row now, you are amazing. With that dedication you'll be shedding it really fast How often are you exercising? Is it always at the gym? Or have you ventured out for more walks on the ice? Tara how was your new bread? We don't have any low point bread around here. The grocery store has just expanded and maybe I can make a request, hmmm we'll see.

Jen, is Emma enjoying dance class now? When does the swim start again? how have you been doing with going to the gym at lunch? It must be close to your work, as you seem to be doing it more steady now. Jen, I hope you had a better sleep last night, and no more weird dreams. I can relate to that though, the weird dreams bit. I have them all the time.
Are you catholic Jen, or do you just like the Fat part of Shrove Tuesday? I hadn't thought of that in ages, in university we would do something for Fat Tuesday, wing night or something. I miss that...
Jen, maybe you could prepare a snack in the morning when you make your lunch. Eat it on the way home from work. Have somthing easy to eat while driving, cheese cut into strips, carrot sticks, crackers with cheese and low fat meat, that might help curb the appetite for once supper is ready. Just an idea.
Not gaining is a really good thing, it keeps the amount you want to lose from growing. Working out like you're doing now will make some changes in your body. Make sure you take measurements so that you can encourage yourself with numbers other than weight. Sometimes working out can build muscle which weighs more than fat, but in the long run burns more energy for you, (especially now that you're doing weights). Now did that even make sense? Boy can I ramble.
It msut be frustrating to not be losing that PG weight, but it will come off. I have lost my PG weight, but I gained 22 pounds just before I got PG, isn't that sad. That was weight that I had already lost too, how depressing. Oh well, gives me something to work towards again I have to laugh, or else I'll cry.
Jen, my DH is getting really frustrated with me as well with my whole being sad about how I look and who I am. That makes me even more sad. I wish I didn't have such a negative impact on him. My self esteem is at a very low low and my selfworth is non-existant. I just don't know how to fix that I am happier now with where I am in life, with being at home and being a Mom. So I have improved something. Wow, like you really wanted to know all that
I can relate somewhat to the being scared about your health thing. There is quite a history of heart attacks in my family and I don't want to be included in the bunch. It is scary! But like they say at WW, a loss of 5-10% of one's body weight really decreases the chance of getting the weight related illnesses. This is something to strive for. And you're exercsing, that is a huge way to decrease your chances. If you're skinny and don't exercise, it is worse than being overweight and exercising, does that make sense. That should also make you feel better. You ARE doing things to make your body healthy, and you should be proud of it!
Now I should go and drink my water! (yesterday was the fist time in a long time that I actually drank all that I should ) And I'm still thinking of low point snacks....I always like the rice cakes, but that is 0 protein. There must be some low fat crackers out there that you could eat with some thin sliced deli meat and low fat cheese.
Well, this post is already way too long so I should go.

Hi Challengers,
I had a disappointing WI, losing .6# However, this is the least I've weighed in almost three years and I'm happy for that! Onward and downward. The challenge has helped me hop on the treadmill and watch what I'm eating. Thanks guys.

Love,
Judy

Howdy again!

I finally joined WW meetings officially yesterday and updated my weight with my ACTUAL weight, hee hee And I updated my St Paddy's Day goal, too. I have been doing very well with journaling but haven'thad too much activity (except taking my mom grocery shopping for two hours then lugging all her groceries plus gallons of milk and drinking water (6 in all) up a flight of stairs. That's gotta count a little, right? Going back and forth from the car, up and down the stairs about 5 times? hee!

So far so good

Wow, I spend one day too busy to post, and things happen all over the place!
Diana- For snacking, do you like yogurt? There are some brands that you can have 1/2c for 1 pt- I sometimes have that with fruit to get my protein in. I think it is hard for husbands to understand the whole self esteem AND emotions part of women! They are just built differently than women, adn have a totally different thought process! I know my DH never thinks twice about his body shape or weight, unless his pants get tight. Then he may ask me to buy some bigger ones! It would be nice to be so happy with yourself! I know that PPD can be very debilitating. Have you dealt with a lot of patients who have that as a nurse? Did you see a counselor or a doctor or anythinng about it? I hope you are able to cope. I miss your messages when we are both too busy to be here! How long untill you move closer to your family? That will be helpful for you!
Jen- It IS scary when there are so many health concerns related to obesity. (I hate that word!) You are wonderful for working to lose weight, for yourself and your daughters!
Judy- Congrats again on being at a great new place in your weight loss journey! Any loss is a loss....and not a gain!
Dazzled- congrats on taking that big step in joining! Definitely any activity is better than sitting on your butt!
Thanks for all the support! I needed it, I have been struggling the past 2 days. I have 5.5 days to go, and have dipped into my Flex Pts BIG aleady. And we are going out to supper Fri and Sat, so they will be hard. Plus, I haven't been making it to the gym much lately. But I have been walking too, and will do that today for sure.
I am not updating my weight until my official WI, just in case it is even less than I think. I am going to change my goal, though, to give myself more of a chance to be succesful!
Last night I dealt with KFC and birthday cake, plus I had a surprise babysitting experience and my dh invited a friend for lunch. Between the high pt supper and stupid bites of kids food, it was not a great day! Now today I have already had a few extra bites off my DD's plate. (Hot dogs, mac n cheese...) I counted them, though, and will move on. I have some veggies cooked and waiting for me right now...and chicken in the crockpot for supper.
I am recommitting to my goals right now. I know that together we can all get through this!!

Hey all. I was busy this morning, then at lunch we booked our vacation. Yipppeee. Lots of money, but I can't wait. We are going to Disneyworld (yes again) in November!

Diane, to answer some of your questions. Yes Emma loves dance class now. Funny how things change so quickly. Also, I am not catholic, but love the term Fat Tuesday and eating until your explode. Which I didn't do!!!!! I made fish that night and it was tasty! And I hope your PPD stays in check. I had the baby blues really bad with Kate (2nd DD) and a couple months ago was afraid I had PPD, but it was just stress making me crazy. Just remember to not keep things tucked inside you!!!

OK, I got sidetracked and this took forever to write!! Back later...

Dazzled, you're too funny. of course all those little things count, and that doesn't even sound like a little thing, sounds like you really built your arms I hope the flight of stairs wasn't too long. So was your actual weight a good thing or was it more than your scale showed? Different numbers on different scalses can be frustrating.

Tara, I was trying to get protein snacks for Jen. But, that's a good one. Yogourt, I hadn't thought of thatt and it comes in such easy little packages too
I've gone to a PPD support group twice now and go again next week. I'm on medication for it too, and its' amazing how much that helps.
We're moving a week from tomorrow, I had better get started with packing, or at least think about what I want ot bring. KFC, that would be hard to deal with. When we move we'll have access to hat kind of stuff, oh no. Well, it's dairy queen that I'm concerned about!
Do you use your activity points? Tara, you could use those for when you go out for supper. It's hard when you use them all early. Tara, you really need to change your SPday goal, I probably should too. We want to have goals that are attainable, we will succeed in losing weight!!!!

Jen, Disneyworld, sounds great. Wow, you ahve that planned far in advance! I've never been there, maybe when is at an age where he'd enjoy that we'll go. Well, we'd probably go to Disneyland as that is closer (Ithink). Congrats on not exploding on Fat Tuesday Now really, how was the fish? How do you prepare it? I'm going to bake some tomorrow, I haven't baked fish before, so we'll see how it goes.
I should go, Survivor tonight, don't forget!
Diana
oh yeah, I weighed today and was the same. Maybe I'll make Friday my official WI day, it might change by tomorrow wishful thinking

Diana, where are you moving to??? We went to Disneyland a couple years ago. It is much much smaller than the World, but nice. We took Kate to The World last year and she was only 6 months. She seemed to have fun, but then again, she is always happy so everything is fun to her! And I love to cook, so that isn't a problem for me. I had a large whitefish filet. I broiled it in the oven. I put a couple small smidgins of butter on the top and then sprinkled some herbs on (parsley and garlic is what I used, but you can use pretty much anything). They I broiled it for about 10-15 minutes. It all depends on the thickness.

Tara... KFC?? Been thinking about that lately. I drive by it every night on my way home. AND, I have COUPONS in my purse. It is such a temptation. I like the breast strips with honey mustard. OHHHH YUMMMM...
