Default Calculation of Smart Points in Products with more than one food

How does WW calculate SmartPoints in foods with more than one ingredient that we buy at restaurants and stores? Does WW simply run them through a SmartPoint calculator (e.g., https://cmx.weightwatchers.com/nui/calculator2)? Or does WWfirst subtract out zero point foods?

In some instances they do subtract out zero point foods if they feel they can do that accurately and get the information from the company that is creating the foods. So, there are some frozen meals that if I just use the nutritional info the points would be more than WW would say. In those instances WW has subtracted out zero point foods.
