Question Any suggestions on using tart cherries?

My inlaws went cherry picking and gave me a 5 quart pail of sweet-tart cherries. Any ideas on how to use these?

Yum.

I just pitted out four pounds. I am freezing them for pies, crostatas and to put in crisps with other berries.

However, the other thing that I do is make a cherry cordial with pie cherries, vodka and some sugar. I can't remember off the top of my head the exact proportions, but it is tasty. Not too low in points, but yummy and makes great xmas presents.

I haven't seen any really low point recipes with pie cherries. My mom makes a rice with pie cherries and chicken and almond slivers. Its very yummy.

Thanks for the suggestions, right now they are pitted and in the freezer. If I make a crisp/cobbler, I end up eating 8 out of 12 pieces! Any one have other suggestions for other fresh fruit?

You could make homemade Jam or Jelly from them. I ahve heard of people using tart cherries for that.
