Default Using Weekly Points?

Hi, I've been doing WW on and off for about a year, but after my MIL lost 35lbs in five months from following WW, I'm trying to be more committed.

I don't count my activity points and I don't use my weeklies for food. I know this sounds really tacky, but I use my weeklies for beer. We have a very active social life on the weekends and I tend to have a few pints.

I'm wondering if anyone else uses their weeklies for food and/or alcohol, and if they are still losing? It's just a part of my life that I don't want to give up.

Any advice?

I drink...bourbon and beer.

I struggle to lose when I'm drinking, but I still do drink. DH and I are also very very social and our weekends are full of friends, patios, sports, pools, BBQs, drinking, etc.

If I stay within my point allowance (count everything I'm drinking) and eat healthy food (not the cr@p I want to eat when I'm drinking) I lose.

I personally don't drink but I use my weekly points allowance probably two weeks out of the month on food. I consistently lose when I diligently track what I am consuming. If you are still losing, then there is definitely not an issue using your points for beer.

I use about half my weeklies. I lose slowly but I do lose. I use them on food and sometimes wine.

I use them every week for beer as well. I've lost every week, even had a few bad weeks in the red. I'm sure it won't last as I continue to lose, but I'm not willing to give it up either. Why is it tacky? I've switched to light beer, which I'm not fond of, but recently discovered bud light platinum. It's really good.

Gin and tonics are my downfall. But if I give that up, in my mind I'm on a diet. Then ill binge. Every body is different, so you have to try it for a few weeks and see how it works for you. I think 3-4 weeks is about right to test the waters. One week won't tell you anything.

Thanks for the advice; that is awesome. I will continue to use my weeklies for beer then.

I most definitely drink light beer, Booschhay. I tried Molson 67 which is only 3 points, but I didn't like it. I drink Sleeman Clear, which is 4 points. I'm allowed one vice
