lindalee9 - Congrats on meeting 5%!!!
Thanks for the encouragement, ladies. I'm suprised this diagnosis is hitting me so hard. I knew it was coming. I think maybe I've been feeling lousy for so long that has worn me out. I think I will feel soooo much better if I can just lose 25 lbs. |
Good morning everyone! I have had a crazy busy week so haven't been around much except to do a quick lurk here and there. :)
Had my second WW weigh-in last night and lost 1.8 for a total of 2.4 lbs. Of course I wish it was more but I'm happy for the loss. Especially considering that on Saturday one of our reps brought in Panera bagels and we had our bi-monthly design class and there were cookies and banana bread left over. I wish I was stronger so that I could just walk past all those temptations and not succumb to the their call. My boss did say that she is going to ask the reps to either bring healthy choices or stop bring food. We will see if that actually happens. I hope everyone has a good day!:carrot: |
Teresa - My sister is named Teresa also and she always has reps bringing them yummy food almost everyday. That would be so hard to be around for me. I used to be jealous of her, but that was before I decided to get healthy.
|
I haven't been having a great day. Not feeling that great physically and mentally. I still have cake and frosting left over from a night we had guests. And granted it's from skinnytaste, I ate two large pieces today with extra frosting. I'm still within my weekly points, but it just makes me angry that I did it. That's ~20 points out of my day! I'm at -2 right now and I still need to eat dinner.
|
Holy crap I'm excited tonight! Long story short, I seem to have suffered a bit of a backslide, weight-wise, and gained back about fifteen pounds of the sixty-five I lost. Last week I finally got serious and decided that, no matter what, I was going to weigh in every single week at my meeting until I get back down to my goal weight.
Tonight was my first weigh-in since getting serious...and I lost 2 pounds! SO EXCITED. I worked really hard this week and I'm glad it showed. :) I just had to tell you all! |
Snoofie- way to go!! Is is amazing what a little rededication does.
|
MrsD2008: I know the feeling, but you are still within your weeklies. It was a little temptation, you gave in, you move on. That's what the weeklies are for, in my opinion. It's a constant learning process.
Not the same exactly (definitely not as yummy), but I had to deal with a similar situation. We rarely have processed snacks in the house but for some reason last week I bought a box of Fiber One bars, thinking I would eat one a day at most. Today I caved and finished the box off. Only 2 points per bar, but not nutritional at all (not to mention that having more than one in a single day gives me, um, gastrointestinal "issues"). Never again. Way to go Snoofie! |
Forkeeps: Oh em gee. My mother in law made us muffins for a road trip once. Except she didn't tell us they were from Fiber One mix. So we polished them off during the whole day car ride and spent the first night of vacation curled into a ball from the fiber pains. I agree with the never again.
Snoofie: Awesome! Smashlers: I've had a good two days at home and now I'm heading off in the morning to spend a weekend with my besties from undergrad. Most have kids now though so there will be lots of time spent in the park running off toddler energy. Which will help compensate for the wine that will happen. Last weekend I had a weekend with my boys from grad school (seriously, I was like the mom. I had "dinner parties" at least once a week so they'd eat a vegetable). And this weekend is my girls weekend. And then I get to do nothing but wear pajamas next weekend. |
Well...... I only lost .8 this week, BUT not really because I took my shoes off this wee! Kinda frustrated, but I was at Disneyland, but only went 7 points over daily, but used the weekly points.
I move on! I have said I will give it 3 months! |
Movielover .8 is nothing to cough at! That is a good solid loss!
I, after having a .2 GAIN last week dropped the TOM water weight and weighed in at 255.4. That is a 3.8 lb loss this week! That is insane to me. Guess I must be doing something right! |
I had another bad day. :-( It started off well, then went down hill after lunch. I tried to make up for it at dinner time by eating a larger salad and 1/2 serving of the rest. I've used more than half of my weeklies and I'm only 3 days in! Time to buckle down...
|
Silly question everyone...
I officially lost 20.4 lbs this week and got a 5 lb loss sticker. But do I get another ribbon for another 10 lbs I have lost? I thought I should, but I wasn't given one this week. |
Hi guys! I am back from my 2 weeks vacation. Looks like all you pretty ladies are doing fine.
Me? Not so. As expected I gained 5 lbs during my vacay mode. And as expected I did not track at all!! But I did weigh myself and thats how I know I gained 5 lbs. Been to california and florida. Went to all the universal studios. Maybe that's why I only gained 5 lbs and not alot because of all the walking we did at the universal. Was tiring but I enjoyed every minute of it with family. Tomorrow I will start tracking again (I hope). And oh yeah my cousin joined WW 2 weeks ago (he's a guy). Dang! He lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks and I cant even loose 3 lbs in one week. :) Guys I envy them on loosing weight so quickly! Well have a good one everybody. Take care and side note thank God Boston crisis is over now. Thanks to all brave men and women of Boston police, FBI, EMT etc. God bless America! |
smashlers Congrats on the loss! You are definitely doing it right. :carrot:
MrsD I use the bulk of my weekly points in the first three days after my weigh in. You are still on track, so hang in there, keep tracking this week, and you might get a pleasant surprise at your next weigh in (god, I'm starting to sound like a fortune cookie). Seriously, you can do it. gracie You get a sticker for each 5 pound loss. I don't think they have 10 pound stickers. They do, however, have a charm or keyring for losing 10% of your body weight, maybe that's what you're thinking of? myfavisblue Sounds like you had fun and got a lot of activity. And you kept a positive attitude about a possible gain, so that's half the battle. I know it is so frustrating how quickly men lose. My hubby is starting to get serious about getting in shape (he told me this morning he wants to finally get a new battery for our scale, yikes!), so I need to prepare myself for him getting to goal way before me, even though I have a three month head start. And I second your sentiments about Boston. What a nerve wracking week it's been for everyone. I am down 1.4 this week. I thought that would put me at 10% but I think I need to be at 21.9 pounds down and I'm only at 21.4. That's okay, I can wait. Although if I follow the same pattern as the last couple months, I should see a 0.8 pound gain next week. I am going to do my best this week to overcome that. :D Take care, everyone! |
I'm still frustrated with how this week is going. But I'm trying my best not to throw in the towel!! Of course it doesn't really help that I got 3 boxes of Skinny Cow ice cream because it was on sale AND B2G1. I ended up paying $2.66 per box instead of $4.99 per box... BUT I think it's a good thing because now I won't be tempted to get ice cream from our local shop... hopefully!
My husband is a lieutenant for our volunteer FD. We have a "new" station that they will be moving into once they're done the work that couldn't be done by the construction company (our town didn't budget enough money). In hopes to get more people involved in helping, they're throwing a BBQ tomorrow. I always get the liberty of making food because I'm the head of the ladies auxiliary. I'm making two kinds of brownies and my husband requested a pasta salad, I'm also making fruit salad so I'll have at least one "safe dish" at the BBQ for myself, haha. I'm going to try to lighten up the pasta salad and cross my fingers that none of the fire fighters notice! |
MrsD: Yikes, potlucks are my downfall. Good luck.
I just noticed that for me, the banner ad at the top of this page is for McDs. Really!?!? |

The pasta salad 5PP per serving, I'm quite proud I got it to be so low! |
My official WI today and I am down 1.4 from the 5 lbs I gained while on vacation. So a little bit trilled there :) I also started tracking again and so far so good.
forkeeps Yes I did esp the harry potter park! Loved it. That's good that your husband wants to get back in shape. I was so trilled that my cousin joined WW so now I can talk to him about tracking and what food to eat and stuff and all anything about WW. Before I did not tell anyone in my family that I joined WW. Because maybe I was embarass and ashamed that I need to join a group to lose weight. But now I am not embarass anymore because what I have seen and lost since I started WW makes me proud that I did join WW. I know it takes time to loose depend on the person but I am happy with WW's plan and happy to be a member and it does truly work! :) MrsD2008 wow!! 5PP for a salad!? You better share me that recipe :) |

That's the inspiration for this pasta salad! |
I entered someone else's info in my WW calculator to get their DPA and when I re-entered my info it gave me a lower number than it did earlier in the week. I swear I entered all the same info and somehow I'm 3 points lower!!!!!! This wouldn't be a big deal if I hadn't screwed up my week with cake and eating out last night. DAMNIT!! I am so mad!! If I don't lose weight this week I know why!
But, now that I think about it, I used 37PP every day (sometimes more if I dipped into my weeklies) last week and I still lost 5 lbs. So maybe I will be okay? Just frustrated! |

Today, I am recommiting, retracking, and recharging. Thanks for being there along the way! Happy Sunday!

Suds - welcome back! Damiere- cool! I will have to check that out in the magazine I hope it turned out ok, MrsD! |
The BBQ was fabulous! My strategy worked, I let all the hungry FF get in line first so there was little left for me. I did one hot dog in a bun, 9PP and fruit salad. I was tempted by my favorite BBQ chips, cheesecake and the pasta salad I made. But I knew I that if there was leftover pasta salad I could take some home for lunch tomorrow. I did end up making brownies and cookies, but I left them up there so they didn't come home with me. The fruit salad was wiped clean and there wasn't enough pasta salad to take home, yay! I really wanted a piece of that cheesecake, but I could tell it was laden with so much fat and calories. I told my husband I would make mini cheesecakes and only keep a few for home and give the rest away. Smart thinking and I'm so proud of myself!

straightahead That is awesome. I have found that eating out is always the kiss of death for me. Even if I choose healthy options its still like a salt bomb went off inside of me and I bloat like crazy.
MrsD OMG I had some delicioud BBQ the other day and i definitely didn't have a strategy about it. My fiancee has a really bad habit of making cookies and leaving them sit on the counter.... just ASKING to be eaten. The control part has got a lot easier, but still every time I see them I want to eat them. I just don't. WOWIE. I am UP UP UP this morning. I had a heck of a weekend. Since I had such a big drop this week, 3.8 lbs I went a little overboard. First, I had a little party on Friday night at my house and probably drank an entire bottle of wine. CLASSY. Saturday I was ok. But SUNDAY. My fiance found out he got an awesome new job!! YAY!! And one of my very good friends is done with grad school and moving for a new job, so it was a lot of celebrating. I ate PIZZA. I ate two whole slices of pizza, and 2 whole beers. I was so full. It was an extreme dinner. I am up 2 solid lbs this morning. I have 4 days to work my butt off and try to get back down by Thursday. I don't want to see a gain, but... ya know... Sometimes I can eat pizza. It was worth it. |
Weighed in on Saturday and I've maintained for the last two weeks. I would typically be upset and while I'm frustrated, I get it. I'm stupid stressed with this whole house situation and the stress seems to be just piling up.
We put an offer in on Friday and we negotiated back and forth and on Saturday they finally accepted. Said send everything over and they'll sign. So, we send everything over, but no signature. Last night at 6pm they said they were still showing the house and would let us know by 10am today (2 hours away) if they would sign. They verbally agreed to the terms and told us they accepted our offer, but then decided to wait. WTF? I am SO angry. It's SO dishonest. Ugh....We even went out and celebrated Saturday night since they said they accepted Saturday morning. So upset... 2 more hours... |
Good morning everyone!
SoMuchFattitude, I would be going out of my mind. I just can't imagine how they could be playing games like that. When we bought our home there were specific rules of time limits between offers and counter-offers. I hope it works out for you. This last Saturday was mine and my husbands 8th year anniversary of the day we met. Yeah, we keep track. :D Anyway, I wanted to be good so we went to Applebees and I had the 13 points sirloin and garlic shrimp with veggies and potatoes. It was crap!!! I will never go there again. I will either cook at home or figure out another place where I can eat well without blowing the points to smithereens. We did spluge and went out for frozen yogurt. I stuck to mostly fresh fruit for the toppings with just a little chocolate add on. And of course we had another rep on Saturday with a huge spread from Panera. There were sandwich, bagels and cream cheese, fresh fruit, yogurt parfait, O.J. and coffee. Will I be down tomorrow? I don't know!!! Going to be super good today and tomorrow before weigh-in. If I'm not I have only myself to blame. :?: Have a great day everyone! :carrot: |
Made it through my last weekend away for a few weeks! While I didn't officially weigh in on Friday, my weight this morning was enough to put me a 5% lost!
Now, I've got to scramble into work after a week off. Boo working after vacation. |
Teresa:Ruby Tuesdays is a good restaurant with low cal, low point options. I like them better than Applebees and the staff is friendlier in our experience. I usually get the Petite Sirloin w/out butter or oil and it is 5 PP. If I want oil or butter, it's 10PP. They have a lot of veggie sides and they'll cook them in little to no oil/butter on the grill if you ask. Our location has a salad bar (which I think they all do). Most meals come with a salad bar and one side, or two sides. When I do the salad bar I stick to just lettuce and veggies, none of the extras. I do a little lite dressing.
If you go to their website, they have nutritional information for all their offerings. Many restaurants do this, you just need to look on-line. Some have the facts in the restaurants so you just need to have your calculator handy, but don't bank on that! I check out the nutritional facts before I go to any restaurant and I write down names of the meals and the points plus values for at least 4 dishes. Then I pick when I get there! Jilu: Yay on 5%!! |
SoMuchfattitude one of my best friends had a similar situation. They got a lawyer.
|
Hi everyone!
Smashlers - I know that pizza is one of the foods that will cause me to retain a lot of water (due to the sodium, probably). Hopefully, that is what is going on. SoMuchFattitude - sorry about the sellers playing games with you. I think house buying is about the most stressful thing ever. Its fun looking at houses, but once you start thinking about and making offers - its pure stress. Not much for me to report. I'm still a little bit in mellow-dramatic mode regarding my health issues. But I started the week off with logging in my food. And Sunday I got major Activity Points from gardening. It was cool to see my Active Link flashing at me as I went to 150% of my goal. |
Mrs. D, I like Ruby Tuesday. Just wish they had one in my town. I told hubby that my next splurge is going to be Jason's Deli. Or maybe we will skip dinner and just go to the yogurt shop. :)
|
Teresa--There is NOTHING in our town, haha. We have to drive 1/2 an hour one way to even get to a grocery store or pharmacy. The other way is 40 minutes, but we like that town better. I don't complain often because I love living in a rural town. I just wish that if I forgot some ingredient I could just run down to the store and back in 15 minutes!
