Default April Chat

Hey folks! Hope you don't mind if I start the new thread.

I was up .8 pound at Saturday's weigh in. It's only the second time I was up, and last time it was also .8 and it was exactly 4 weeks ago. Hmmmm, I am noticing a trend.

Got my ActiveLink last week. I am excited about using it to get more active!

Mind if I join you?

I need to get back on track again. I know I keep saying that but I think my health, energy levels and mood are seriously being affected by my weight which is pretty much at an all time high. We were at Disney World last week and the pics of me are just shocking. Even worse when you consider that I have my 2 young boys who depend on me. At Disney, I was just wiped out by noon and then worn out and grouchy the rest of the day.

I finally set up my Active Link last night and am excited to see how it can help me.

I look forward to getting to know you all better.

I don't mind, lol. Fresh threads are nice. Not that I've been around here much lately. As for the activelink--I just wish they didn't charge an extra monthly fee for the active link. That part makes it so I won't get it.

Still going relatively well here. I've done better than I ever have before about sticking to this. Partly I think because I have allowed myself to go off for short periods (traveling, holidays) and then gotten right back to it after whatever it was is over. Yesterday was bad (but ohhhh so yummy) but today I'm back OP.

Have a great day everyone!

Ahhh! It's April 1st. I have been on the phone all morning trying to lock in my wedding venue. This is what I get for being an eccentric. The place we LOVE is an old Limestone mill, and I have heard of people getting married there. But they just aren't budging on letting us use the space! I WANT IT! So I have been crafting a cutsy email all morning, trying to convince them that letting us have our wedding there is, honestly, the most awesome idea ever. This place is just too cool to let it just not be an option. Complete with broken window panes and rusty mill equipment. I WANT IT!

Phew, ok. ::Straightens shirt:: I am down this morning! I didn't meet my March goal by 4 lbs. It is completely my fault. I sat on my big a$$ all week, I ate out several times. But I am down this morning.

April goal: It is obvious that I need to move more. All the point counting and the measuring is fine and dandy. I need to move more.

I had a lot of chocolate yesterday, but I made sure to track it all. It was hard because I don't have a smart phone, so I kept a written tally in my purse and then when we got home, I made a beeline to the computer to log everything LOL!

I did go over my daily, but I still have some weekly points left, so it wasn't too bad. Since I am in the first weeks of WW, I was hoping to lose 4 lbs tomorrow at my weigh in. We shall see!

Once I hit my 5%, I will be purchasing the ActiveLink. I didn't think my husband would go for it, but he said that was fine. Part of me has a small hope that I will be down 5.2 lbs tomorrow so that I can get it tomorrow

My goals for the month include continuing to track everything, getting to bed earlier, and remembering to eat slowly!

Smashlers:

FWIW sometimes the issue for a venue is the liability insurance. If they're not covered under their own policy for certain types of gatherings etc....

I know someone who I think handled this by getting a rider on their homeowner's insurance for a few days that covered the venue for that purpose. The vendors also had to sign a liability waiver that said the location was not responsible for anything. I guess the caterers, band etc are usually covered under their own policies.

Good luck! It's nice to do it in an unusual place.

Well Good Morning..Happy APRIL Fools DAY!!!

Cant wait to play one on my hubby.

Well..I weighed myself today..says I am up...3 pounds but technically my day to weigh is not till Friday..it was just dishartening, because my scale told me i was at 290 two days ago. So....I am like..."what is my real weight right now??" and how do you know? At least im doing better then last time i was on a diet.. i used to be an every day weigher...now I am.. only weighing every couple of days...

I went over my DP's by 5 points..so i dug into my WP's for the first time this week..I notice some days I'm more hungry then others. Oh and so excited..i didn't cheat or go OP even though i was surrounded by hoards of chocolate.

Happy April! Spring weather here we come, even if it is freezing with flurries here today.

Just a tip, if it is your TOM, don't eat any salty ham. I swear I feel like a sponge since I am holding so much water. Up 5 lbs since yesterday morning. Yup, 5 (wow!!). DH is up the same. Stupid, causing water-retaining, tasty, delicious, evil, salty ham!

On the plus side, I know it will be gone soon. I am drinking lots of water (6-12 oz cups so far today) to try to flush out my system.

Gooch, I feel your pain! Though I was within my daily/weekly points yesterday, I'm up 3 lbs and change from the salt of yesterday.

Hopefully this massive amount of water will help it get on out of here.

Happy April fools! Was planning to play a prank on fb to change my status to "in a relationship" from "single" but I forgot all about doing it hahaha. Sorry getting old~~short term memory. Oh I bet that would have been fun and surely my fb wall will be off the chain with messages (been single for a very very looonnng time!!)

Anyway I am 100% sure I am up today (official WI on saturdays). Ate at a chinese restaurant (buffet) yesterday to celebrate easter and my aunt's bday. I said to myself that I would only get half servings of all the food and just veggies but nooo couldnt resist the temptation on eating salty, oily food! They were like calling me and telling me to eat them hahaha. Gave in eventually to the temptation. The good thing is I still have some teenie tiny WP left. Went to the gym this morning to run of that calories and salt and some added AP. Will do the same tomorrow. Will try to hit the gym again

Well hope you beautiful and fabolous ladies have a good rest of the day!!

Hi to everyone! Sounds like we all had a challenging weekend but we all got through it pretty well. Personally, I only stole three small chocolate eggs from my daughter's Easter basket, so I consider it a success.

Maurene: Welcome! Are you new to WW? Some of us here are new, some are old hands at it. Lots of good advice here.

LuvCats: I felt the same way you do about the extra monthly fee for the Active Link. But when I figured the initial price versus the price of a FitBit, I figured I would break even in about a year, by which time I hope to be at goal anyway, so I went ahead and did it.

Speaking of Active Link, does anyone know how riding roller coasters all day will affect mine, especially since its still in the first week determining my baseline? Those accelorometers inside the thing were probably going crazy today! But I had fun and got some good exercise walking around the park all day.

Ya'll I'm so tired and stressed. My brother went to FL for Spring Break with his kids and wife. In the middle of the night on Saturday one of his tonsils exploded (where he had surgery) and he started bleeding everywhere. They rushed him to the ER in FL and thankfully, he was able to stick his own fist down his throat and stop the bleeding. He bled so much when he got to the hospital they asked him if he had a living will. They got everything under control and put silver nitrate on his wound and discharged him. It happened AGAIN yesterday (still in FL) and they rushed him to the ER again. He stopped the bleeding again, but at that point he'd lost so much blood they had to put him on Oxygen and flight him to a different hospital where they had specialists. So, my family literally sat on the edge of our chairs, totally panicked and helpless because he's 10 hours away and waited to hear if they were taking him into surgery. THANKFULLY, the specialist took care of everything sans surgery and gave him strict directions for the next two weeks. Had he gone into surgery we were all packed and ready to head down to FL. Late night and woke up every hour or so checking my phone. Ugh.

Positive thoughts, please. I'm one of those few lucky where my brother is my best friend, too.

Yesterday I took one of my dogs for a light walk/trail jog and it was just awesome. He did such a great job. I was amazed. I was iffy about it, because I have schnauzers and they notoriously let their nose distract them from EVERYTHING. But we did 3 miles and it was beautiful outside.

I am down this morning. 260.0. Instead of getting super pumped I am gonna get my gear on and go get a jog in this morning. That is the lowest I have been since..... I want to say 2004? I feel like I can recall a doctor visit where that number was what came up on the scale. I can't wait for it to be in the 230's. I know its not an extremely low number, but it has a nice ring to it.

What is a number, that isn't necessarily your goal weight, but makes you smile a bit?

Have a great day everyone.
