Default Breakfast

Good Morning Everyone!

I am looking for some low point breakfast ideas. I have been eating oatmeal every morning but I am getting pretty tired of that. Also, does anyone know of any low point english muffins?

I do a high protein breaky. One egg over easy and two slices of fake bacon. Some times a piece of fruit. 3pts. It is satisfying and keeps me not thinking about food until noon.

I don't know the point counts of any english muffins but I usually have 1/2 cup LF yogurt (1.5 pts) with 1/2 to 1 cup fruit (1 pt) with toasted whole grain sandwich thin (2.5 pts) for a 5 point breakfast that is quite filling.

4 pt protein shake for me. I have tons of flavors so it doesn't get boring. I mix the powder with almond milk.

I've never seen an english muffin come in under 3 points. I don't eat them because that feels like a lot of points without a lot of satiety or nutritional payoff.

I also stick to a high protein breakfast. It's the only thing that gets me through to lunch. I really like 1% cottage cheese @ 4 points.

I eat different things eggs, oatmeal, breakfast burrito, different recipes here and there and sometimes I eat dinner for breakfast! My go to meal is egg and toast for 3 pts.

I have two breakfasts I rotate throughout the week.

1) All Bran bar (3pts)

2) A toasted sandwich thin with cinnamon Laughing cow wedge and a Yoplait Light (6pts)

occasionally, I'll use the Better'n Peanut Butter on a toasted Sandwich Thin with sugar free raspberry jam

I usually have a parfait with Light & Fit yogurt, strawberries, blueberries and a little bit of Kroger Low Fat granola for crunch. Its one of my favorite breakfasts. If I do an English muffin, i will usually put an egg and a piece of turkey bacon on it, with some low fat American cheese. Yummy!

lsrlosing it is Morning Star veggie strips. 2 strips = 1pts! They are kind of expensive, but I get them when they are on sale and stock up. My freezer looks like a morning star commercial.

I love strawberries so I have 1 cup Special K Red Berry (3 pts) with 1/2c 2% milk (2 pts) and I dice up a bunch of strawberries on top. I've also started eating the Smart Ones Mornings - I LOVE the waffles and turkey sausage (7 pts).

I love to mix 1 Dannon Light and Fit yogurt with 2 oz of Greek to make a cup-making it a serving of dairy (and more filling!)- and adding a sliced banana and a handful of granola. 4pp. I also have coffee...gotta have coffee, lol!

I love to do one egg with 2 egg whites scrambled. Very low points and you never miss the extra yolks.

If you like oatmeal, but are tired of the same ol', try cooking whole oats with lots of cinnamon (google cinnamon properties--its excellent in helping you get healthy--I put in a teaspoon for 1/2 cup of oats) with raisins and or dried cranberreis. When its cooked add a whole chopped apple. Its one of thos "have a little oatmeal with your fruit" things, but its really good. I split taht between two mornings and usually have a small protein of some sort with it for sticking power.

I always have the same breakfast.

1 cup fat free milk, 2points
1 scrambled egg white, 1point
1 fruit, 0points
1 serving cream of rice cereal (it's like cream of wheat, only rice), 3points

So although it's a 6 point meal, it's very filling and versatile. You could even skip the milk (which I will probably do when they lower my point ration).

Oh, and lots of coffee. Black.

I usually end up having low fat or no fat greek yoghurt, Chobani brand. Lately I have been having a plain no fat Chobani with two teaspoons of jam added, which is surprisingly delicious! The low fat yoghurts point at 3 points, while the no fat yoghurts point at 4 each. Something else which is very satiating is a small tin of baked beans at 5 points a tin.

I also will at times have a raw food bar which are mostly composed of processed dates with various suggestions of flavourings. I've also bought individual portion packs of different cereals (suitable for travel) which I eat with a small amount of skim milk and fruit, either fresh or a WW tub.

I've also had the occasional wholemeal English muffin with margarine and jam - think this may have left me feeling hungry shortly after which is why I stopped - which would have been 3 points for the muffin alone.

Even though I have it slightly later, I will usually purchase an iced latte (skim milk, espresso and ice only) from a coffee chain on my way to work.
