Crazyone, it's the same system as Points Plus, they've just incorporated a different 'attitude' of focusing on our habits and environment as well as eating right and exercising.
Active Link is purely optional, and there are a lot of mixed opinions about it anyway! It's not even available in my region yet so I can't give any opinions on it. You don't need a thing other than your points calculator!

[QUOTE=angelsandfairies;4559687Are you allowed to have sweets or icecream or even eat out? [/QUOTE]
Nothing is forbidden!
What you'll notice with WW though, is that before eating something you'll ask yourself "is this worth the points?" You WILL start making better choices.
It's so incredibly easy. I do online-only. Paid about $55 for the first three months and then it's less than $20 monthly after that. YOU are worth that amount of money.
One thing I don't recommend is the "bootleg Weight Watchers" method. Lots of people try to gather information online, from friends, from old materials and such... I don't think that's often successful. For one thing, it makes the extremely simple Points Plus plan very complicated and time consuming. Another thing is that gathering information from tons of different websites puts you at risk of mixing several different programs. I have good friend that calculated her points allowance using Points Plus, but often tracked food with the OLD points program because she used so many websites. Anyone familiar with Weight Watchers knows how disastrous that could be.
It all comes down to honesty though. Follow your plan, track your food, and weight will come off. Give it a try!
I have just started here at 3FC and was also wondering about trying ww. I saw that you can get a deluxe at home kit, which I think would work well, I'm not one for meetings. Has anyone tried one of the kits?
You can also go to just one meeting for around $14 and get what you need. If you decide purchase the kit you will still be saving half the cost of the at home kit.
Do you guys know ... If you join online, do you have to use the current plan ... The PP / 360 ?? I'm still using the regular system, since that is the one I know the best ... and I *know* works well for me. I was considering joining online, but I don't know that I want to if everything is focused on pp / 360 ?!
I just started ww at home jan. 1 2013. I went to the ww website and looked at the packages you could buy and the price. Then I went to ebay and did some searching and bought everything brand new and paid around $100.00 for all of it. I bought the delux kit, a few books, a sticker to put on my calculator, even a keychain clicker that I haven't opened yet. I received everything during the end of nov. And first of dec.' So I would be ready to start jan 1.
Can anybody tell me how do you get those cute weight losing charts? I've seen several different ones at the bottom of peoples post. And I love that dancing carrot.
Thanks
Magiceyez, the only system on WW Online is Points Plus. If you have points plus materials from the last 2 years, those are still valid because none of the point values changed with 360, but if you have the older materials for 'just points' (no plus) where you can use a slider to count points, then no, that plan is not online any longer.
2013 is WW 50th anniversary. If it didn't work for ordinary people, it wouldn't have lasted this long and been rated the #1 weight loss plan for the past 2 years. I fully justify the $43 - and I live on social security - because losing weight helps me stay healthy now and in the future...and I'm worth it and deserve it.
I pay $42 a month... and go to the meetings. I depend on the meetings just as much as I depend on 3fc. I love all the people at my meeting and look forward to it every week!

You could have with coupons in the new member kit, gotten all of the material for less at a meeting! If it's on Ebay, someone already bought it and are trying to make money. Along with coupons for other stuff!
