Stuck

  • I started WW on January 15th. My starting weight was 211 and I’m currently 204, that’s not awful but I feel like I’ve been stuck at 204 for weeks! I’m keeping to my points and writing down everything I eat. Is it too soon to give up on WW?
  • It is too soon to give up... You shouldn't give up. Are you measuring your portions? Limiting you zero point consumption?
  • I'm definitely measuring everything that has a serving size on the back(like having exactly a cup of fat free Greek yogurt for breakfast) and when things are supposed to be zero points I wrote down 1(to make myself want it less). Dinner is usually a Smart Ones meal, and since they are a WW company I assume they have the points right.
I won't give up yet. It's just super discouraging
  • Don't count points for zero point foods. You may not be eating enough because of it.
  • I'll try that. Thanks
  • Agreed, count the points as they are. Never count zero point foods as 1. Your body is probably hanging onto fat because of that.
  • If I count the zero points correctly and still dont see a difference what should I do? My current plan is to keep doing WW until May and if I'm still at the same weight I'll try something else. I don't want to stop the program but if it isn't working what other choice do I have?
  • You may want to use the calculator to check the points on the SmartOnes. They have been known to have the values incorrect on a pretty regular basis. (Old packaging, nutritional value changers). Personally, I would cut the SmartOnes/ any frozen meals out as much as possible because they are loaded with salt and can cause water retention and, IMHO, neither the flavor is good nor the value for the points. Make sure you are following the plan as written, though, and don't count points for 0 point items - there is a certain # of calories already built in for those so you may be doing yourself a disservice by not eating enough.
  • Another thing to consider is how much 0 pp foods are you having. In particular, how much fruit? I know several people that have said they had slower weight loss if they ate a lot of fruit that week.

Also keep in mind while fruits & most veggies are 0 points they still have calories. This is why it's important to follow the guidlines for the servings. (Of course eve if you've had all of your fruit & veggie servings for the day, it's better to eat an apple than something with higher points/calories)
  • You just have to hang in there. I have been following the plan and have only lost 2.0 since the first week in Jan. I am frustrated but.....I am in a smaller size clothes and they are starting to get big

    So something is going on
  • Hang in there! As someone else suggested, make sure not to count all the 0 point foods as 1 - to make sure you are getting ENOUGH to eat to lose. Also, could you incorporate some walking into your daily routine?
  • I'm so sorry it's taken me this long to respond! I've been counting points correctly now (no adding to vegetables) and I've been trying to walk at least an hour a night, although that's been hard because my walking buddy is flaky >
I'm down to 199 now and even though I know that once I have a drink it’ll be back in the 200s it's still nice to see a 1 in front of the number!
  • that's great! Glad you had a nice loss
  • Instead of smart ones and all the sodium that comes along with them, try cooking your own dinners then freezing it all in individual portions. Skinny Taste is a WONDERFUL recipe blog and she figures out all the WW points for you! I dont know what in the world I would do without it.
