This has to be quick - I'm at work. Just stopped in to say that I was pretty good on the weekend. Kept busy, stayed away from munchies for the most part. Went to the Y and swam.
It's supposed to snow again, and get very cold again. Sure seems like winter's been really long this year.
New Week ... New Committment to good health.
I'll try to get back later.
Have a good, OP day ladies!
Susie - welcome, I saw your post on the last thread. A leader of mine used to say "fake it until you make it". Start each day with the idea that you will be OP. If you fail, start the next day. Eventually it will click again for you, but the main thing is not to give up.
I'm heading for the mountains tomorrow, gonna try a snowshoe trail. I'm a little nervous because I haven't been on this trail before, but it seems pretty straight forward. Be looking for me on the news tomorrow night as "woman lost in CO mountains", .
I'm here. Just been busy trying to get all the tax stuff to the tax man. Food has been okay - could be better but could be a lot worse too.
Our weekend at the couples retreat was great. Then on Sunday, went with a friend to see Chicago. I loved it! So its been a busy few days. That's cut into my exercise and planning meals time.
Thursday already! The weeks sure do fly by these days.
Nothing new to report.
J-Ann - Did you get more snow? We are so despearate for moisture. I think we've had a total of maybe six inches for the whole season. Our yard is so dry there is dust. We may actually get rain tomorrow - at least won't have to shovel that!! How are you doing with the journal? Still getting in your water workouts?
Cynthia - How was the snowshoe trail? That has to be great exercise. DH remarked the other day about how he had grabbed onto a certain hunk flesh during the night and how he could feel the muscle underneath. DH is a boob man! Then he felt around on my shoulders and arms and was impressed. I have FINALLY built up muscle in my upper body. Isn't it wonderful to feel how your body does respond to all the exercise? It is such a great feeling to be doing things that are "athletic". You go girl!
Everyone else - where are you?? Its lonely without the big group of people we used to have. Come on in! We all need support, to rant, to cry, to feel the joy of success. Come out, come out from where ever you are!
Excuse my version of cursing but GEEZUS! I,m beginning to dislike winter. Drove to work in a blizzard yesterday AM then it cleared of and was cold and beautiful. Started snowing on the way to work this morning. It took me an hour to get home. Usually takes 15 -20 min. About 10 miles. It was awful. I left early figuring the roads might be in decent shape for the school buses. The plows can't keep up. It vwas like nighttime and it was 2 o'clock! I could barely see the guy in front of me. TERRI: We'll have MORE WATER than we'll know what to do with when this melts. We live on top of a hill but I'll bet the basement turns into a pond if it ever warms up.
Journaling has been so so but I've purged the house of the stuff I get into and, due to a family emergency, every one else is in Buffalo for about a week so I'm home alone and basically loving it, except for the shoveling and the fact that, once again tonight, I'll miss my class at the Y. It's 15 miles one way and I'm NOT going back out.
TERRI: WOOOO!!! MUSCLE! That's a word I like to hear. YOU GO GAL!
CYNTHIA: Hope you enjoyed snowshoeing. Bet you were sore.
Terri - welcome back. Glad you had a good time. Unfortunately it was way too windy for me to snowshoe - felt like I was getting sandpapered with all the debris floating around. I'll have to try again next week. Sounds like you are turning into one buff chick!! I just started getting back into my weight lifting routine last week, so hopefully in a couple of months I'll have some results worth showing.
j-ann - sorry about that snow. Driving here is bad now due to all the influx of people born in places without snow. Used to be no biggie, now it can take an hour to get through a 10 minute drive.
I MADE MY 10% TODAY!!! And I did it before V-day like I wanted. I'm putting my 25-lb. magnet into DH's V-day card and promising him more to come, lol. We don't have any real plans for the day, just see what develops .
I'm staying home. It's still snowing and I talked to a friend at work so I know someone's there to cover any "fires" that may arise. I going back to bed and then I'm going out to shovel ... shovel ... shovel.
Cynthia: Congrats on that 10%. It's a milestone conquered on your journey.
Happy Valentine's Day to you guys as well. DH and I are gonna cook a special dinner together tonight, and have champagne and chocolate. Should be fun!! "Talk" with you when we get back from Oregon.
The start of a new week - time to make up for the weekend or just to get focused again.
Sorry for being absent over the weekend. Mom came up on Friday and I took her home on Saturday. I had to drive home in a bit of freezing rain. Yesterday, I met my friend at the movies after church. We saw "The Hours" and "Adaptation". We've been on a movie kick the last couple of weeks. Sometimes there is nothing to see and sometimes there's too many.
I've been building time on the cardio exercises. I noticed yesterday when I did the airdyne that I could do the whole time with my arms without having to rest them. That's payoff of doing all the handweight work I've been doing. Normally I have no upper body stamina.
I'm off today. DH is off so I took a day to have together. I think we're going to run a few errands and go see Lord of the Rings II. Then its off to dinner at his mom's. I've already asked him to help me not eat a ton of food.
J-Ann: Spring has to be coming soon for you all up north. Or at least a break from all the nasty snow. Hang in there! Are you doing okay otherwise? Let's get motivated together.
Cynthia - First, Congrats on your milestone. You're doing great. I was thrilled to see that you'd made it to your 10% goal. Here's a little happy dance for you!
I'm off to do something physical - treadmill or airdyne.
Sorry to be missing in action, but somehow times just seems to fly by and then I am still struggling with ISP problems...I post a reply and then get kicked off before it goes through! GRRRR! Drives me absolutely bonkers!
Having been doing pretty good the last two weeks after rejoining WW. A total of #9 for the two weeks...not too shabby I think! Now I just have to keep myself on track for a few more weeks till the nice weather breaks and I can get outside to be more active. I hope to start walking again as I know that I need to start moving to help with the weight loss.
Determined..I hope you enjoyed the Lord of the Rings II. I saw the first one, but have not made it out for the second. At this point will wait for it to come out on video. Did go see Chicago and found it quite enjoyable.
Chillin'...you are doing awesome! Snowboarding...I am impressed! You seem to do alot of traveling also...is it job related or are you independently wealthy?
J-ann...I don't envy your snow amounts! We were suppose to get hit this past weekend by the storm hitting the east today, but it took an unexpected turn and missed us. I am sick of snow and cold....spring can not get here too soon for me!
Hope everyone has a great week. My goal is to journal everything that goes into my mouth!
Terri, sounds like you are having fun at the movies. DH and I pay a lot for premium satellite so we wait until the movies come to HBO, Stars, or whatever. We do go if a big screen is necessary, like Lord of the Rings or good special effects movies. But we may go about once every three months.
Chatty, not independently wealthy, but DH has a flexible schedule and likes to check for efares. We also have over 1,000,000 miles to use between the two of us and we are going to start using those this year before United goes completely out of business.
The trip to Oregon was $140 roundtrip for each of us. We are scouting possible retirement locations for future reference. Plus we like going overseas. In March we are headed for Singapore which was about $325 roundtrip each. Traveling is our main indulgence, I've had the same furniture for like, forever!! DH's next venture it to purchase an airstream and have us become nomads during the summer. Not sure if it will workout with telecommuting or not, plus I'm worried about what the heck to do with the house during that time. But we shall see, it could be fun seeing the country and the golf courses.
Medford and Bend Oregon were pretty cool, and rainy! But man is the water good there. We also checked out Eugene briefly, and I think I prefer Sisters. Kinda like Colorado and it has a great golf course. Stayed OP the whole time though we spent so much time in the car driving I didn't get much exercise in. DH lost a few pounds on the trip and he's lost a total of 12 lbs since the middle of January. He can tell a difference in my attitude and he's trying to get in shape as well so I don't leave him in the dust.
Wow...Pretty quiet in here....where is everybody? Snow buried everyone? We missed it all...those poor people on the east coast! Think of the exercise you could get shoveling all that snow!
Have been OP strictly for the last several days, I am happy to report. Journaling everything that enters my mouth. Hopefully I can do well this weekend. Weekend always seem to be the hardest for me.
Well better scoot. I have a 6:00 am shift tomorrow and my bed is calling me!
Not much time to post. I opted to get caught up on the ironing that has been staring at me for quiet some time. Finally got it finished this morning.
Yesterday was Dad's birthday so it was a sad day for our family. Mom is doing well. Except that she "heard" him call her name yesterday morning while she was asleep. That jolted her but otherwise she is doing okay. It was good to go to church class last night because that is always so uplifting and healing.
I've been doing okay with food. I'm going to WW for WI tonight even though is TOM and a bad week to WI. But I've got to go just to keep myself in the mode.
I need to scoot. I hope to get more time to reply tonight.
Everyone - have a great, motivated OP day = journal, drink your water, journal, exercise, feel good about yourself, journal......
