Default A maintain...really? Frustrated

So I pointed everything...I accounted for everything...I only ate 1/2 my flex points and I maintained.

Every morning I pointed my dinner, logged it and worked my day backwards. It's frustrating. In the last month (only been doing this for 5 weeks) I had a 1 lb gain, then I lost that gain and now I maintained so realistically I have only lost 3 lbs from the 2 weeks on the program.

I eat all my F&V and then some every day. I have at least 9 glasses of water, I use low fat products and I measure out everything...just frustrating

A couple of things.

You should only lose between 1.5-2 pounds a week. If you take an average, you're right on track at 1.5 pounds per week if you've been doing the program for 2 weeks.

Sometimes what we see on the scale is not what happened yesterday or event the day before. Sometimes it's from two weeks ago. Weight loss and gain is not linear. Sometimes the gain or loss you experience is from longer ago than we think it should be.

You don't have very much to lose (relatively... before the baby I lost 105 pounds, so honestly, 26 is a not VERY much, not to minimize your struggle) so your weight loss will be slower than someone with more to lose.

My entire weight loss journey, I never ate more than 5-6 of my flex points. If you want your weight loss to be faster, cut down on the number you're using.

Also, f&v still have calories. They're not no points, theyre ZERO points. You still have to take into account how many you're eating if you're not losing the way you want.

All that aside, I'm no expert, so take it with a grain of salt. Good luck! Stick with it, the program works you just have to tweak it to work for you sometimes!

Thanks you...I have actually been doing the program for 5 weeks now and the only time I have ever lost more than a lb in a week is when I was doing those stupid bad for you diets.

I'm just frustrated...I know 22 lbs is not a lot to loose but that's the high for my size and body type...I have always been in the low 120's in my 20's and even less in high school...

I agree with cherbear. Some people do lose 10 pounds in a week, but that's not average on any diet. I'm on WW and average anywhere from .01-6 pounds if I'm having a really great week. I always count my points as soon as I eat them and I understand some people can't, but you should keep a food journal. There have been plenty of days I've forgotten about something small I've eaten during the day and it throws my points off and I forget to log it on my tracker.
Also remember that you will hit plateaus and there will be weeks you won't lose anything or maybe you'll lose .02 of a pound, you may even gain some weeks, but don't get discouraged. Stick with it and you should see great results! I've lost 34 pounds in 4 months on WW.
Just keep tracking and keep your chin up and you'll do great!

Your 22 pounds is just as important to you as 50 -60 pounds or more to someone else. I don't do WW but I find in any diet program persistance is key. Do not give up. Good luck to you.

Colleen, I really hope you didn't take it that the weight you want to lose is not important because it's a smaller number. I just mentioned it because the closer you get to goal, the slower your loss is. It is absolutely just as important as anyone elses. I was offering another explanation as to why it might be slower.

Sorry if there was confusion in my meaning!!

Oh you didn't offend me at all...I know it's harder to loose when you have less weight to loose...my husband is dieting with me and shedding pounds like crazy.

Thanks everyone...it's just hard when I think I am doing everything I am suppose to be doing and nothing happens...thanks everyone!

It is frustrating and it's something we've all dealt with. I've had weeks where I've been totally on point and maintained. I've had weeks where I've lost and I shouldn't have. Also be aware that gains are also a normal part of the journey. They happen to all of us no matter what we do, so please don't let that frustrate you either. I have noticed a pattern where I tend to gain during the middle of my monthly cycle, like during ovulation, so no matter what I do I know there's a chance where I'll go up slightly that particular week.

I've been doing WW just over a year now and my weekly average is 1.2 lbs. While that doesn't sound like a lot, it all adds up to 62 lbs that I've lost, even with the maintains and gains. Just know that you are not alone in feeling frustrated when those sorts of things happen and that we are all here for you!

Not everyone loses 1.5 to 2 pounds a week. WW actually says that .5 to 2 pounds is what the program aims for.

I personally have averaged about .6 pounds a week over a year and a half. Yes, it would be nice if I lost faster but I've tried everything - eating lower points, eating higher points, high activity, no activity, low carb, and everything else. I just don't lose very fast.

But, the important thing is to hang in there and if the scale is overall moving down over time (not every week!) then the program is working. You can try various things to increase your rate of loss but at your weight it will be more difficult than if you weighed more.
