Default Panera Tasty but Deadly Bakery Items of Death

So I got this free "bakery item" from Panera Bread for my birthday (redeemed this morning). I picked a Wild Blueberry Scone (photo attached).

Guess what the Points value is for this 4 oz. innocent-looking bakery item?

Wild Blueberry Scone ingredients: enriched wheat flour, cream, sugar, blueberries, leavening, corn syrup, salt, corn starch, natural flavor, citric acid, sunflower oil, half and half

470 Calories
20 grams of Fat
2 grams of Fiber
-----------------------
11 Points!!!

Be afraid, be very afraid.

So this is my Sunday morning breakfast... and lunch!

ugghh i dont eat scones. i love panera but one time i looked at their overall menu of calorie counts and they don't have alot of low calorie foods. when i get the freebies on my card, now i just try to resist their pastries. i eat the other stuff though. occasionally i will have a treat there or somewhere else.

Yup, I believe it! Before doing WW, I was eating a scone from Starbucks every morning for breakfast. I haven't touched one since I found out how many points they are. If I forgot to bring my lunch, I'll get a lower-calorie breakfast sandwich somewhere else, and it'll hold me much longer.

I am pissed (j/j) that Starbucks has its fall seasonal drinks & goodies now - I am in love with their pumpkin scones and those darm pumpkin lattes. I will have to see how light they can make the latte, and budget for it one of these days.

Oh no. I was all focused on figuring out how to have a pumpkin latte I forgot about the pumpkin scones!

Oh, Panera stuff is delicious! And Starbucks too! But yeah, we have to vigilant, ha! I naively thought that because it didn't appear oily or super fatty that a scone couldn't be that high in Points My mistake!

I went out to Starbucks with a friend after a movie on Monday, and got a 16 oz. grande Caffè Mocha (5 Points, no whipped cream)... and one of "Starbucks Petites", a tiny Peanut Butter Mini Cupcake (4 Points). The cupcake was nice, but I could have been happy with just the Mocha. I <3 mocha, hehehe!

Thank you, chicksinger! You'll be impressed at my restraint (maybe) in that my actual birthday was July 31st, the big 4-0, and I waited until now to snap that freebie up!

That's actually less than I would have guessed.
