Default Weekly WW chat April 18th - 24th

I'm surprised nobody started this thread! I hope everyone still wants to chat. This is my favorite thread on here.

I was up 0.2 at my meeting today. I attribute this to: 1. big loss last week, 2. TOM which is going on now (lovely), and 3. BBQ and beer shenanigans at our local BBQ festival over the weekend. I consider 0.2 getting off easy and hope nothing else shows up to keep it company LOL.

Tonight was my last Monday night WI. I'm switching to Saturday mornings as of next week. I will be working now on Mondays, well past 5:30, and so I won't be able to make it. I do have to work one Saturday a month (I think) and so on those weeks I'll have to go another night.

I picked up dinner from Chipotle tonight. Thanks to Chipotle having all of their nutritional info online (a mixed blessing) I now know that my barbacoa burrito bowl is 30 POINTS. Oh, well. It was good.

I start my new job on Wednesday. Nervous! I found out we have a local 5k here in late September and Kim has inspired me to try to run it. Hopefully I can get it together by then.

Have a great week, everyone!

I think this will be an awesome thread for me.

I started a week ago tomorrow. My first WI is in the morning.
I am having a hard time coming up with food to cook at home. I feel like I am going to get bored really quick.

I get up early so I need breakfast ideas. Today I had a SmartOnes for breakfast. I dont want to get into the habit of having one everyday.

This week I have been eating alot of chicken and wraps. My goal this week will be to explore more options for food. Oh and lose weight

Spooky - Glad you're not sweating the small gain. The scale has to fluctuate sometime. Good luck on your new job! It's always nerve wracking to start a new job.

I have been staying on plan, despite being busy/stressed out in getting things in order to go back to school in September. I will be studying Primary/Junior (K-6) Education and I am sooo nervous and excited. I have wanted to be a teacher for a long time and now that it's happening, oooooh it's exciting!

It's my birthday in two weeks tomorrow. I'm thinking of treating myself with a new tattoo! I love tattoos -- they're expensive though.

Easter is coming up soon -- and my Mom always makes these amazing chocolate peanut butter cupcakes. She asked me if I still wanted her to make them, since I was on WW now. I told her: YES!! But this year, instead of having four of them, I'll only have one. And it'll be delicious!

Anyone else have plans for Easter??

Good morning, all! I've dropped Benny at daycare and now am relaxing with a gigantic cup of coffee. My plans today are to relax before my first day of work tomorrow, do some laundry, read more of the dialysis book I should have been reading all along. I went to see The Conspirator yesterday, it was great. I highly recommend to anyone interested in American history.
I have zumba tonight, looking forward to going. I need a new sports bra, though. I think mine has about had it. Thinking of starting the Couch to 5k program soon. I worry sometimes that I do too much cardio and not enough strength/resistance training. I picked up the new rules of weightlifting for women so I will read that and see what they recommend. Am I too fat to lift weights? Is there such a thing?
OH, and one NSV: I have scrubs of every variety from L-2XL. I have been waiting to fit into some of the cuter, smaller ones and when I got dressed for my pre-employment physical yesterday, they were too big. YAY. If only I could lose some weight in my hips, then I could go down another size in the tops. They fit fine everywhere but are just a bit tight there.

Stacgirl: Good luck with your WI tomorrow! My breakfasts are usually: cold cereal/banana/milk, or oatmeal in one of many incarnations (usually I make it with a cup of skim milk, a fruit, sometimes honey or maple syrup, sometimes raisins or slivered pecans/almonds), or an omelet/toast. Occasionally I'll make a smoothie with greek yogurt, a splash of milk and frozen fruit -- it is usually only 4-5 points but it doesn't do much for me. I really prefer to eat my calories. At my new job I'll be getting up super early too so I'll be watching this thread for ideas.

Phae: What tattoo are you thinking of? I only have 1 but it's a super cool one. It's a haunted house (complete with tombstones and flying bats) on my right shoulder. I'd love to have another one. I don't have any plans for the holiday. I'll be off so we'll probably just have something small here. One year we had a dinner party. That was fun. We don't have a lot of traditional Easter foods, really. We usually bake a ham and the side dishes are always sort of up in the air.

Jinks: Have fun for Easter! I hope you get your car problems sorted soon.

I love this thread too! Spooky i too gained this week .8 which i can't complain either, i got TOM yesterday and ate out 5X's last week ... whoops!
I feel i got out lucky to say the least lol! This week i'm trying the Wendy Plan but yesterday ended up a higher day too!

Easter will be low key this year, first holiday without my dad but i'm cooking in my new home for the first holiday so it will be bittersweet. I'm making ham and low fat sides. We are all watching our weight so that's good.

no you cant be too fat for weight lifting. Muscles burn more fat than anything. It keeps your metabolism going, even when you sleep; sometimes you wont see such a big weight loss, but you get smaller/tighter.
This isnt the picture ive seen before, but it still gives off the general idea

definately have to drink plenty of water, and make sure you breath. Water and air fuel your muscles to break down, and reform themsevles. And protein.

Good Morning! Its my WI day!!! I had an OKAY week... still calorie cycling and after a BIG loss last week (almost 3lbs!) im afraid i might be up this week as my sodium intake was a little high and i feel a bit bloated. so im waiting to till my first bathroom visit to WI. drinking some green tea right now and waiting.

A QUESTION FOR CALORIE COUNTERS: do you ladies consider OVERALL calories consumed as your calories for the day or your net calories? for instance...today i am to eat 1368 calories, as per my plan. but i did a short 1 1/2 mile run this morning and burned 185 calories. so should i eat 1368+185 to get a net weight of 1368...or should I just stick with the 1368? how do you ladies figure calories burned into your calories for the day? Am going to ask in the calorie counter forum too.

p.s. spooky: i am running my first 5K in July! cant wait!

Thanks!

Good luck with your WI! I counted calories for that one week of calorie cycling and then stopped. Now I'm just counting points. So I can't really answer your question, but I wondered about that too!

Ok I just went through and tried on all my scrubs and I can fit into tops I haven't worn in YEARS. Literally. There are just a few (3 total) that are a tiny bit too tight in the hips to be comfortable. I am so happy. I'm washing them all now.

So crazy to think that 15 lbs can make that big a difference.

Just weighed in: 169.8! Down 1.8 from last week. Very happy girl right now considering I was looking at my sodium intake this last week and it was double what my livestrong plan recommends so I thought I would have a gain today. So relieved!

When I did my week with SP I was so shocked at my sodium intake. I only got below 3 gm ONCE. I don't eat a ton of processed foods, either, but that crap is in EVERYTHING!
Grats on your WI!

Good afternoon, chickies!

Having a good week over here, so far anyway! The scale is moving downwards again heading back to where I was before last week's lapse. I am trying points/calorie cycling, to tie in with the days I typically eat/exercise more and that seems to be working, although like today, even though I am at my calorie quota of 1500, I still have 3 P+ left and am supposed to dip into my weeklies for 4-5 P+ - but that would put me way over on calories. So still tweaking and working things out.

This past weekend I rode 50 miles on my bike in about 2 1/2 hours and felt good and strong throughout. I am training to ride a century (100 miles) next month in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure. If anyone would like to make a donation on my behalf, I'd greatly appreciate it! Here's the link to sponsor me. This weekend the plan is to ride 62 miles.

spooky, congrats on fitting into your scrubs - that's awesome! And good luck on your first day tomorrow!

stacgirl, welcome to WW and good luck tomorrow! I'm pretty consistent with my breakfasts, I either have nonfat Greek yogurt, blueberries and a bit of whole-grain cereal mixed together or a slice of wheat toast with either natural peanut butter or an egg. And coffee, of course!

Phae, heck yeah have that cupcake! That's what birthdays are for, is my not-so-humble opinion. If you can't have a cupcake on your bday, what the heck kind of lifelong plan is this? That's one of the things that's so great about WW. What are you thinking of getting as your next tattoo? I have three right now and have a couple more in mind to get - I just need to time it right since I wouldn't be able to get in the pool for a few weeks afterwards.

PPpioneer, I'm sorry about your dad but hope you have some good holiday memories of him that you can focus on this weekend. I am going to a family potluck and will be bringing a healthy side salad I found on eatingwell.com

uncontentgirl, congrats on the loss! I'll be curious to know what the experienced CCers say about your gross/net calorie question. My thinking would be to do gross, as long as you don't go under 1200 calories net. I do not typically eat my APs or the calories burned from exercising, although I do try to eat more on the days I have higher caloric/point output.

Weighed in yesterday and was thrilled...lost 3.6! 16.8 pounds in 6 weeks. I am doing both meetings and eTools. I am absolutely thrilled. I know I will plateau sooner or later but I am enjoying the ride while it lasts.

Hello chicks!

So I have managed to have 5 good weigh-ins--some weeks are less than 1 pound (-.8 or-.6) but a loss is a loss right?!? So this week I am on pace to make my 5%--and be down 9 pounds since starting WW. So I am a little nervous about making it to my WI.

I made it in to the gym today--life has been getting in the way. I have been working out, but I haven't been to any of my classes or met with my trainer in two weeks! It was nice to get back into my routine.

Have a good Tuesday night chicks!!!
