Default Newbie. Few things!

Ok so i have all the stuff from weight watchers. I dont plan on going to the meetings cause there costly but i was curious what you think of weight watchers. ive been calorie counting but need some structure. I think weight watchers will help me since most fruits and veggies are free. Plus the weight loss is slow and steady and thats what i need.

Any advice? Or tips? Or things i should know for success?

I do the meetings because I need the accountability of seeing my group leader and getting on their scale. It's not cheap, but I also see it as an investment in my health and in my future.

I'm basically paying for WW instead of Dunkin Donuts, McDonald's, and Five Guys!

If you are going to go to meetings, it is much cheaper to buy the monthly pass then paying every week IMO. You get everything, the meetings and online. As Lisa said, defiantly worth the investment.

Yeah, they were running a promo where the first month was only $19.95, then it went up to $39.95 per month. It averages out to $9.22 per week. I was dropping $3 to $5 a day at Dunkin Donuts before work, so I'm actually SAVING money on WW! LOL!

I also can submit for reimbursement from my medical insurance for the plan, up to $150. So once I've spent the $150 in monthly fees (which will be four months on plan), I can get it all back. Definitely worth the investment!

I'm only on my third week with WW, with my third weigh in coming up on Saturday. If I find that I'm stalling out, I may try the Wendie plan, but right now, I'm just eating. If I dip into my weeklies, that's cool. If I don't, that's cool too.

I'm not planning on dipping into my AP's though. That's the stuff I burn off and keep off!

My advice is to not do the wendie plan, but to stick with the regular plan of points plus and see how you do. You can always try it at a later date to shake things up a little, but why do that at the beginning, if you dont how much you will lose on the points plus plan?

My advice to you is to make sure you are tracking everything. The few weeks i didnt track i found i didnt do as well. Drink lots of water!

good luck with it all

Yeah, from my understanding the wendy plan is to be used when you hit a plateau. So for right now, I would suggest sticking with the normal plan.

Most important advice: be sure to track everything! Even a little bite or nibble here or there.

I've been reading alot about the wendy plan too. It makes sense, and you are eating the same amount of points per week anyway...it's just like calorie zig-zagging but the units are points for WW instead. Glad you decided to hold out and try the plan first. I've found WW to be simple and easy to follow, and the wendy plan makes it more complicated. Worth it to get through a plateau, but to start out I think simpler is better.

Hi and Welcome!!

I started Weight Watchers 15 months ago and have attended pretty much every meeting with the exception of a few. Money is super tight here too, having 3 kiddos, bills, etc. I decided right away that I HAD to make sure I went to the meetings, especially in the beginning when I needed them most. I scraped change together a few times in order to pay for a meeting! I even sacrified my daily morning iced coffee and that was huge - lol! I honestly don't think I'd be where I am today if it wasn't for the support I received and continue to receive from my weekly meetings. Now I'm comfortable enough that if I stopped attending, I'd be ok because I've completely changed my lifestyle permanently.

You have to figure out what works best for you! From what I hear, the online version is just as good as actually going to the meetings because there are forums in which you can turn to for support. This site is absolutely wonderful too, everyone is and has been so supportive.

Just as an aside, the WW website frustrates me. There's a wealth of information and resources but I find it very difficult to navigate. I also loathe their message board formats. It's actually what sent me on a hunt for different forums. If they adopted a format like 3FC, I'd read both, but as it is, I only read 3FC.

I also wish they'd streamline better across their cookbooks, site, and various apps. I like to enter and save recipes, but stuff on the iPad app doesnt' show up on my tracker and vice versa.

The program itself I love though! LOL!

I just rejoined ww online last week. I have done the meetings before and online before. I LOVE the changes they have made. The program is so much better, as is the website. I am loving this. I really feel like this is something I can live with long term.
