I really want to try Yoga but was scared because the poses look difficult! I didn't want to be the newbie who had no clue what she was doing. I may give it a shot next week

Everyone started as a newbie! Find a beginners class with a good teacher who will check your alignment and stuff, so you are doing the poses correctly and won't get hurt. They aren't going to have you standing on your head in the first class (and if they are, the teacher should just be showing you the prep poses for it.)
The nice thing about yoga is the more you do the stronger you get and then some day you can do all the cool poses. I'm still learning them!
You will probably find better teachers at a studio rather than a gym, but if you just want to try it out, a gym should be fine. Studio teachers tend to have way more training and can help you progress.
