In the most recent WW's book I have (about 2 months old) you add up certain things like gender, age, and activity to find your daily allowance.

It is possible that you are over estimating your activity. I started at 258lbs and I think at 33 points, maybe 32. I also put the lowest activity levels, and I am femals (males get more). I got a few more points for my age (I am 22). 33 might be right, but again you could be overestimating your activity or how much effort your job really takes

R you following a plan in the US? just i think the points system is different.
I have worked it out form my friends new 2010 book (uk) form her meeting and my allowance is 26points
instead of following the pound system as u say 258bls so u add 25 , we do it with stones so i am 16 stones so it equals 16pts

Thanks for your help though x

Maybe you should go to one meeting and find out what the plan is about and get the materials. WW material is copyrighted.

That's an interesting thought, actually.
I'm in Germany, so to figure out my points I had to use my weight in KGs and drop the last digit (ended up with 12 points). Weighing in age, gender, etc. I come to a total of 24 points at 280 pounds. If I was using my weight in lbs, I'm assuming I would get a higher number of points allowed per day.

Now here is my problem:
I'm traveling to the US in a couple weeks and I was planning on getting WW materials there (I just feel the recipes I have are very "German" influenced - way too much potatoes and gravy-type stuff for me).
I'm wondering now if the points for any given recipe can be translated to the German system. If I'm allowed 24 points in Germany but (e.g.) 33 in the US, then clearly a 8 point meal weighs differently in each country.

Hmm... . I guess I'll go google some stuff...
