Default Disappointed?

Is anyone else disappointed in the Weight Watchers meetings? I like the program but I am disappointed in the meetings. I feel like the leader has her favorites and the rest of us just pay to listen to her talk to them.

I am also disappointed in that I pay the full amount everytime to renew but I do not get any of the new materials because I already have it - when do I get the new receipes like the Shepard's Pie etc? We also never hear about the new products like I do here at 3FC.

I would go to a different meeting but the closest one is an hour away and I can't leave work early to go. Its almost enough to quit Weight Watchers and try to make a go by myself because I feel like I am wasting my money.

Am I the only one who feels that way? Maybe I am expecting more than I should from Weight Watchers. I feel like I get more support and information here at 3FCs. Daisy

that sucks. i can feel for you. i don't get much out of the ww meetings either, but it's for different reasons than you stated.

you could always try the online program, or see if you could get an 'at work' program started at your work. that would be the ultimate in convenience.

if you are willing, maybe talk with the leader alone and bring up some of your issues....she may not realize that she is being exclusive. or perhaps volunteer information of your own. sometimes, the same outgoing people keep answering questions because everyone is too shy.

You should be getting all the new materials. OUr region gives them out.

Call your 800 number (it will ring to your region) and tell them your feelings. My bet is they aren't being told or don't know. So tell tehm.

Daisy Maisy,

I like my meetings. Our leader is very entertaining and she talks to all of us. She gives out "Bravos" to anyone who wants one, but he/she must tell why.

We have fun at our meetings. I'm sorry you don't. I agree with Kelly. Tell someone in WW management.

Please don't give up on the program.

Hi Daisy,

I have heard great things about the WW at Work program and we have a whole thread for WW at home - great gals, we'd love to see you there.

I had to quit WW because it just wasn't working for me. Turns out I have thyroid issues. Anyway, the meetings to me seemed like sales pitches for the latest cookbooks or cheapy plastic gadgets and same old same old stuff. All this with a great leader. It wasn't enough, though, to get over those awful weigh in witches who asked "are you drinking your water" when I was drinking over a gallon a day - I wanted to douse them!!! I should have peed on the scale.

ALso, there's more than one way to lose weight. I recently saw on 60 minutes that the traditional food pyramid was made by a bunch of lawyers, not doctors, and is NOT the best way to lose weight; they said Dr. Atkins is more on track. I don't do Dr. Atkins, I am on Deepak Chopra's plan right now, but I thought it was interesting.

I happen to think Weight Watchers is a great plan. I have not been able to stay on any other plan and keep the weight off.

Please, please read up on Atkins. It is a very dangerous diet.

I hadn't thought about calling the 800 - number. Thanks everyone for writing. I am having success on Weight Watchers, I've lost over 30 lbs. something I have never been able to do before so I want to keep going to the meetings. I live in a very small community, there is no way we could do Weight Watchers at work but I might need to look into the At Home program. Once again - thanks for helping me. Daisy
