I signed up for WW Online back in November '09, before Thanksgiving (mistake, lol) and finally really started looking at everything available to me in Jan. or Feb. Ever since I have, and have started using the tracking tools and all, my weight has finally started coming down again.
I first started with WW back in April '08, but I knew then I wasn't going to continue with meetings. I wanted to get start-up materials and a starting weight, went for one other weigh-in to make sure my new scale was more accurate, then worked on it at home. I ordered the at-home kit and did it that way for a while, using the forum at 3FC and another online group for support.
I haven't even checked out the forum at the WW site yet. I've just returned here to 3FC again after being away for a while, and again I get additional support from an offshoot group of the Meetup homeschoolers group to which I belong. So far, so good. I love the tracking tools and the ability to look up MOST (not all -- I have to go to calorie-counting sites for some info, or just use the Nutrition Facts on the packaging & create new items for some things) points contents. You have your weekly weigh-in there, the points tracker, exercise tracker. It's great, and at $16.99 ($16.97?) per month it's much more affordable than $15/meeting for me.
That being said, some people really benefit from meetings. They like the face-to-face information they get, and the in-person accountability. My mother-in-law is that way.
What I think is great is that there are so many options out there for people wanting to use WW. Best of luck deciding what to do!
