I was a calorie counter before joining WW, so that's when I had my eye-popping wake up calls. Some stuff I used to eat regularly:

-A big bowl of ravioli and sauce for dinner.

-Yogurt and grape nuts for dessert. Sounds pretty virtuous, right? Nope. I'd eat a cup or two of flavored yogurt with about the same proportion of grape nuts. 600-700 calories, easy.

-A large bagel heaping with cream cheese.

-Sweetpotato fries.

I'm sure there's more. I think the yogurt and grape nuts was the biggest shock, because I assumed it was healthy in any quantity! I was absolutely clueless about calories.

Oh well. At least I can still have these things by modifying the recipe, the portion size, or both.

Actually, Quiznos has a couple of good choices.

Their Honey Bourbon Chicken sub (small) on wheat is only 7 points and incredibly tasty. The grille sauce they put on it is so deliciously tangy. I'll sometimes add a small tomato basil soup (2 points) for a nice little OP lunch.

Some others noted on the Quiznos home page (along with complete nutrition info)(it won't let me post a link, but go to quiznos dot com -> menu -> nutritional info under each sandwich heading.

Yes, they do have some healthier options in the States....Not so much in Canada. When I went there I asked if they had any fat free/low fat dressings and they said no.

Ummm...everything I used to eat before lol

I was a big processed, fried, smothered in lots of white sugar food fan The typical New Orleanian that thrived on native food!

The only thing I will eat now that is considered a staple here in Louisiana is boiled crawfish

Salmon melt with lots of mayo, lots of salmon, two slices of bread and lots of cheese, too.

Nowadays it's way less salmon, mixed with yogurt, low-fat cheddar, open-faced on a single, whole-grain piece of bread.

And it tastes just as good!

omg, I'm not doing WW now, I have in the past but I remember Taco John's large Potato Ole's were about 20pts! Almost a whole days worth! And that's not counting the tacos or quesadilla I ate with it! After I saw that I realized I couldn't eat like that anymore! But time has blurred that memory... thank you for reminding me! With or without WW I can't eat that crap and expect to lose weight!
