Good morning everyone!

I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend. I got a lot accomplished and feel good this morning. I got caught up with some housework that I've let slide like mopping the kitchen floor and scrubbing down the bathrooms (ugh!). Anyway, it's a good feeling. I also tackled our freezer and got that defrosted and got rid of some "unknowns"

Eating wise I did pretty well, but not as good as I'd like but for the most part it wasn't that bad. We didn't have any picnics to go to so that wasn't a problem. This coming weekend we have a picnic/party.

The weather here is beautiful...sunny and around 70...perfect for walking. I'm hoping to take advantage of it and get out for a walk at noon.

How was everyone's holiday weekend? Any upcoming events?

I don't know what it is. I do so well for most of the day, but blow it at night. I was doing so well for a while. I have to get back in the groove. It will be hard doing that. I have a conference Thursday. I will do my best to limit the damage and really get myself OP after that.

I will be weighing in tomorrow AM since I can't Thursday and those are the only two options I have here. I am not optimistic about that WI, but I will face the music.

Hi everyone.

Melissa - another new pic! You're an inspiration!! I also did a good bit of housework this weekend (I had 4 days off). It was very satisfying to get the house clean. But I do have to do the floor scrubbing thing yet. Hey, I also got rid of various mystery items from the freezer! I guess it was just that kind of weekend. Did lots of gardening. Very very satisfying.

Unfortunately, I let a bag of potato chips get the better of me...otherwise it was a very welcome long weekend.

Myra, I'm with you on "hard to get back in the groove". On the plus side, I have found that sugar free fudgicles fill the sweet tooth craving at night and I can limit it to one, and only 1 point!

I just had my body comp done at work (with the skin calipers). Let's just say, that number is a motivation!

talk to you all later.

L.

Greetings, ladies!

Just have a free moment to jump in & say hi! Had a pretty nice weekend - weather sucked on Saturday, but Sunday & Monday were pretty nice. Took the boat out Sunday for a trip to the Mississippi River - spent the night out with DH & DD. Very nice weather-especially Monday-about 80 degrees. Came home Monday night, did a load of laundry & decided to mow the grass. Can't say I did any housecleaning like the rest of you (Melissa & Laurel!), but I should. I hate to do housecleaning - would much rather shop . Munched quite a bit over the weekend, but am staying active & keeping with the exercise, so hopefully not much damage was done. Feel a little bloated (TOM arrived last night), so I am hoping this feeling will subside in a few days.

Myra - just keep keeping on- think about how successful you've been - sometimes we just get in a bit of a rut & it needs to work its way out. I go thru peaks & valleys of how dedicated I feel - I guess it's just natural to go thru those times. Remember, we're here for you!

Work is going well; met with my first prospective student today & she filled out an application to start the process, so that was a great feeling.

Have to run to observe an orientation meeting in the Milwaukee area tonight, so it's going to be a long day for me. Busy week for me. I'll try and check in later this week.

Take care all,

Good morning everyone!

It's a beautiful sunny day here and I'm wishing I were outside rather than sitting behind a desk. The forecast is calling for thunderstorms later on today but one never knows. I'll take the sun and comfortable temps (75).

Myra: Good luck with your weigh in. Evenings were and still present problems for me eating wise. What I try to do is to make sure I have some points to "play" with at the end of the day so I can have a snack and that seems to help. What I've also found is that if I eat dinner a little later say around 6 p.m. I'm not as apt to snack or look for one later on. It's a vicious cycle sometimes and I still struggled with it.

Laurel: The new picture is from when I was in Florida...I cropped one of the photos that were taken. I still can't get the picture to come out crisp and that bugs me. I also let some honey roasted peanuts and chips get the best of me...must've been the weekend.

Katie: Glad to hear the new job is going well! Housecleaning is not one of my favorite things to do but the bug got me and one thing lead to another.

Not too much else going on here today...going to head to my meeting at noon today. I really look forward to going and I find that I feel better afterwards. Hope everyone is having a good day!

Melissa, way to go on all the housecleaning; I need to do that so badly, as soon as I finish this deadline! It's a really satisfying feeling, isn't it, like Laurel says? And I'm like you, I really get a boost out of ww meetings. I just wish we didn't have to drive 70 miles each way to go!

Myra, evenings are hardest for me too. A few things that help me are: leaving the scene of the crime and saying to myself, the kitchen is closed for the day; planning something I really enjoy for later, like watching a good movie or reading a magazine; or having a cup of herbal tea as a little nighttime ritual. All of these were things people suggested here on the boards, and they have really helped. I know you'll get back in the swing of things; sounds like this has just been a difficult week, with your upcoming conference and all.

Laurel, I love those sugar-free fudgsicles too. And Blue Bunny also makes fruit/yogurt bars, one point, with lots of fruit in them; really terrific.

KT, that boat ride sounds lovely. Is it a houseboat kind of thing? Sailboat? You said something about staying out all night on the boat? How wonderful. Glad you had such a great weekend!

Dh, Dad and I went to Rockport (a little artsy town, on the Texas coast) for the holiday. Did lots of swimming, took the kayak out & saw dolphins close up, and grilled lots of shrimp. Did fine maintenance-wise in spite of the wine festival, but I sure need to get busy to reach my personal goal this summer! I think 10 months of maintaining at the WW goal is long enough, and I'm ready to get serious. It would be great to lose a few pounds before our trip in late June.

Hi to Lala and Seasaw!

Hope everyone's having a great week! Am tackling a deadline, so guess I'd better get back to work.
Regards,
Jan

Oh well. My WI wasn't too pretty. Gained a pound. Actually I deserved to gain more. I really binged last night and wasn't all that good the rest of the week. I have to get myself together. I'm rethinking my eating habits, aiming for more whole grains and high fiber choices and less refined sugars and flours. Hopefully it will make a difference. That and stopping that late night eating and stopping wallowing in depression. It is just destructive. Tomorrow is going to be a challenge at any rate with that conference, but I am determined to tow the line and have a successful day anyway.

Myra: You can do it! I'm sending some positive vibes and hug your way. Maybe go back through your old journals (if you have them) and look at the weeks you did well and felt good, a lot of times that helps me with meal planning, etc. Another thing I find helpful is to re-read my materials and try to unearth the enthusiasm I felt when I first joined WW. You'll get yourself on track. My favorite saying from my WW buddy is "Take the hit and move on!"

Janet: I can't imagine having to drive 70 miles each way to a meeting! I get antsy just driving 10 minutes to mine.

I was up a little at my weigh in yesterday and it was pretty much expected since I've been eating a lot of salty foods and really didn't journal all that well. This week I'm focusing on keeping up with my journal.

Weather is humid & warm here today and it's overcast. We're supposed to have more rain during the day and this evening. It's not that bad since I have to be inside all day.

Hi to Lala, Katie, Susan and everyone else!

hi everyone!

I'm been mia I'll admit. Too many things going on.

Melissa- good on ya for getting those chores out of the way. I actually did a little proactive dust bunny annihilation this weekend. You are doing great too with your average weekly weigh ins, so your blip will disappear soon. Nice pic too .

laurel- hi! I'm going to start journalling again. How are those Joisey veggies this year?

Janet- your trip sounded fun. Are you planning your trip to France soon. If you need any suggestions, especially Paris, I'm your gal.

kt- how is work treating you?

myra darling- you have done splendidly so far, but I understand your frustration. Maybe you should look at the months of Feb-May as your maintenance challenge. Is the book out?

seesaw- hiya

So, nothing new to report. I am up a good 2.5 lbs and boy can I feel it in my clothes. Its amazing as I gained my 30 lbs how I couldn't recognize my increasing gains....

I'm getting back on track. My next few weeks have california work trips and I made sure we have a gym at my hotels. I'm also getting ready for a trip to Japan, its going to hot and muggy so
maybe getting down a couple or more (like where I was for Italy) will make for a less cranky lala.

I need to find a new meeting that will work with my schedule too. I am lucky in that I am about 15 minutes from our center and there are meetings seven days a week. I went on Sunday and was so not impressed.

Oh, and its farmer's market season .

Yeah.

Greetings all,
On my lunch break & thought I'd check in.

JanetMae - our boat is a cuddy which means you can sleep on it plus it has a potty & one-burner stove. It's decent-sized (23 ft long), and we can weekend on it.

Myra - sorry about the gain. At least you're still going & facing the music even though sometimes it's not the best news.

lala - work is going well. I had to do a "mock" presentation this morning. It went pretty well & glad to have it out of the way. The presentation is a enrollment meeting which is where prospective students come to find out more about our programs, etc.

Warm & muggier here today, but am not complaining. It's been so cold up until this week, so I welcome the heat.

Have a WW staff meeting Saturday afternoon. Had a open house WW meeting last night for a new location. Pretty good response so I hope we can get a few more signed up next week so the series can begin.

Gotta run. Will try & check in later.

Myra, I hope your conference went well today, and that you'll be able to relax a bit now. Re: the one pound, that's not so bad, and I'm sure you'll be heading back down the scale soon. I agree about the refined carbs; they're not as satisfying, and usually more calories too.

Melissa, where we live, it's a long drive to go anywhere! I guess we're just used to it; it doesn't seem so bad. Glad you're getting some rain ... send some down here! All these t-storms passing through our area just part like the Red Sea as soon as they reach our ranch!

Lala, thanks so much, would love any suggestions re: Paris. We're leaving June 26 for 15 days; staying in Paris a few days first & then renting a car to drive around in Provence. Only rez I have so far are the last few days in Paris (the Marais neighborhood) so any tips would be greatly appreciated! Where in Japan are you going?

Katie, the boat sounds fantastic; what fun! Good luck with your new WW chapter!

Guess I'd better get back to work ... later,
Jan
