Smile Week Four Success!

Hello, Friends!

I lost 2.5 at WI this week! That's 15 for my first month and I'm on top 'o the world! I can't believe that WW is working so well for me this time!

J-Ann, Bye for now, we'll miss you. Take good care!

JoyceW, I wish I could see your wren's nest activity. Wrens are one of my favorites and I've always heard it's good luck to have a house wren nearby. My mother had a wren nest in the mailbox at her front door last year!

LindaBC, You are right about the cats! We have two males and either and/or both would have dispatched the baby bird without further ado!

Bunny, Hope you are feeling better.

No time to post a menu today, gotta go! Hope you all have lovely weekends!

Mel

Holy Macaroni Mel!!!
15lbs in one month - way to go!!

We are supposed to see a ball game this pm - but it looks like rain (again! - and cold maybe 50 degrees) so we might go see a movie instead. We have a babysitter booked and I'm not wasting her!!

Have a great OP day

Default Happy Monday!

Hey, y'all!

I just lost my post and have to start over!!!

Where is everybody? Hope you had a happy Mother's Day!

Dana, Thanks for the encouragement! Your menu looks great!

I had a surprise early birthday party at work today and did pretty well -- raw veggies, strawberries, banana and two slices of a sandwich wrap. I plan to make reasonable choices in Chicago this week, but not worry about going off program for a few days.

All for now, hope you are all well!

Sorry, I did write a lengthy post on Saturday and the darned computer ate it! Sounds like a kid's excuse for not doing her homework.
I didn't do too well on Mother's Day. I was fine until after my lunch out with daughter. We went to a local pub where they serve good food. (No waiting in lines for one of those fabulous Mother's Day buffets where I always eat too much). I had a shrimp quesadilla and a spinach salad with the dressing on the side. No problem there. Got home and offered my daughter a home made cream puff. I'd made them for DH on Saturday and had no problem resisting them....until after daughter left and I was putting them away. WOund up absolutely WOLFING one down. Not even sure what it tasted like. Isn't that dumb?
Anyhow, from that point on the day was a disaster. I didn't go too much over my points range and I did have some points banked, but all my choices were high carb and that's a no-no for me. I had fruit, cereal, yogurt, then several low fat biscotti. I don't know where my head was.
Back on track today though. Went for my morning swim but passed on the bike today. Just not in the mood (lousy excuse). Still, I did a pretty good water workout.

Menu for Today

Breakfast
2 slices hi fiber bread - 2
1 tsp light Becel marg
2 tsp jam
2 tbsp light Philly 3
5 points

Lunch
WW veggie soup with tbsp cooked rice
2 slices hi fiber bread 2
light marg and no fat mayo .5
tuna with celery & green onion
low fat cheese (open face under broiler) 4
3 cups light popcorn 2

9 points

Dinner (planned)
Turkey Spaghetti Sauce with lots of veggies &
Pasta
8 points

Yogurt & fruit
2 points

Total 24 points
10 points banked but I'll probably have a snack and use some of it. Trying to make up for my bad day yesterday though.

Mel, congratulations on your 15 pounds lost. That's incredible! You must feel light as air. WHen I think that it's taken me 11 months to lose 24 lb and you lost 15 in one month...WAAAAH!!!

Hey, gang -- Haven't been posting much but I have been checking the messages every day. My eating choices stink right now, to be honest, but I'm slowly working my way back to sanity -- I had a nice healthy lunch yesterday of a salad made with spinach, cabbage, a chopped apple and crab. My choices the rest of the day weren't so hot, but at least one meal was healthy!!

I finally got hold of a customer service number about my "Firm" tapes and talked to someone (after being on hold almost 20 minutes) and was informed that the tapes had been "back ordered" and, oh, hadn't I been notified. So sorry; they will be shipped on the 19th. Bull. I told them, politely but firmly, that if the tapes were not on my doorstep by the end of the month that the entire order would be cancelled. It is outrageous to order "express shipping" and still not have your order more than a month later.

Have any of you heard about the weight loss challenge going on at theweightlosschallenge.com? It's a 12-week challenge ... no particular eating plan is espoused, but you are encouraged to take before & after pictures, keep a daily food diary, exercise, drink your water -- ya know, all that healthy stuff that WW says we should do. It costs $60 to join ($5 a week) and at the end of the 12 weeks if you complete it you're put into a drawing for $1,000. I think I'm going to take part -- the first one starts June 3. Thinking about that $1,000 might help me stay motivated -- I'm always very motivated by money!

Well gotta scoot down to the sewing room -- have completed the quilt top for my niece's graduation and even found my batting yesterday (which took a while -- I have GOT to clean this place up) now to get it layered and start the actual machine quilting. I've got until 6/1 to get it done ...

Unhappy

My name is Vicki and I definitely need some group support and motivation! Today was weigh in at WW and I gained 1.6 lbs. Not a big gain some would say, but I've been gaining and losing the same 1.6 lbs. for the last month now and I'm getting very frustrated. My motivation seems to have disappeared for some reason. It may be because I've been at this for so long now. I'm now at 254 lbs., down from 330+ lbs. a year and a half ago. The last year I've lost 49 lbs. on WW. It seems to be going slow. I've gotten somewhat careless about my points the last few weeks too, and I need to really "get with the program" and quit fooling around. I thought maybe it might help to say HELPPPPPPP!!!!!!!

Hi everyone

I just lost a really long post here where I responded to everyone! It seems like that has happened to all of us lately!

Here goes again!

Kadybear/Vicki - Welcome to the group. You've come to a great place for support & encouragement. I know your struggling right now but look at your great accomplishment 49 lbs. in a year. That is so fantastic. I know you'll be back on track in no time.

Donna - Glad to hear from you.

Linda - Great job on getting right back OP. You've been doing so great. I'm proud of you.

Mel - Congrats on the 2.5 & 15 lb. total loss your doing great! Good job of staying OP during your b-day party too. And happy birthday!

Dana - Your menu's look great and your even starting exercising. Your doing great! Exercise points depends on the intensity, your weight and the duration.

Intensity is described as Low - Light activities that do not make you sweat. Ex. stretching or walking at a leisurely pace.
Moderate - Activities that probably make you break a sweat. Ex. walking at a fast pace or biking. High - Activities that make you sweat. Ex. jogging, running, competitive swimming or biking.

WW encourages us earn at least 2 acitivity points per day. 14 per week. You can exchange activity points for food if you want to. My leader suggested not using the 2 points but if you go over 2 you could use the excess. You can also bank acitivity points so that you can use them for days you don't get to exercise. Therefore always making the minimum of 14 points per week. I hope I've made sense. The booklet will explain it all. I calculated your 30 minute walk at both Low & Moderate and it came out to 2 activity points earned.

Well I've been really busy lately and have not had too much time to post. I've also been struggling to stay OP. I do really well for a week and then crater. If I would have stayed strictly OP last April when I started WW I would have already been at goal. I don't know what's the matter with me. I want to lose this weight. My health scares me & I know I'm a prime canidate for a stroke or heart attack. Any suggestions or information on how you stay on point 24/7 365 days a year? Any help or comments would be appreciated. I did lose 2 pounds last week but I think when I get on the scale this week they'll be back. I've got to get off of this rollercoaster ride. Sorry for being so down. I'm just frustrated with myself right now.

I hope everyone has a great evening & weekend.

Hugz.
Joyce
