Pam, Oh, your weather sounds awful. I guess I can't complain; tomorrow will be 40 in the morning--that's chilly for here. We had some bad rainstorms come through yesterday and in some areas north of us there were tornadoes.

I need to start my baking. I've only made some brownies, but I want to make some of my dough for cookies and some fudge.

Going to WI tomorrow--hoping for the big M; I just haven't been OP lately. I try and then eat a piece of pie or cake.

Lots of parties this weekend, so that should be fun. I'm going to a singalong Messiah concert on Sunday evening which I enjoy. Everyone in the audience gets to sing the chorus parts!

Hope you are all well--lots of sickness going around my workplace, but thank God, I've been spared.

DH and I went out last night and bought a "coming home" outfit. Its so cute! I will have to take a picture and post it.

Pam - I'm glad SOMEONE didn't get hit with a big car bill!

Lisa - My big baking starts on Dec. 21st and won't stop until the afternoon on the 24th. Thankfully I am not working that week. All of our presents involve cookies, fudge, and bread in some way!

Melissa - Has your hand been better since the stitches have been out?

Lor, What types of cookies and bread do you make? I'm making Forgotten Cookies, Gingerbread Men, and Biscotti. I also make fudge EZ recipe.

I'm not sure what I will do for the fudge. I found a fudge recipe recently that I want to try out before I make it to give away. As far as cookies, traditionally I have made sugar cookies, jelly diagonals, and no-bake cookies. This year it will just be the no-bakes out of that list. I know for sure I will not make the jellies and give them away, as they don't stack well because the jelly is sticky. I've been trying to think of an alternative to the sugar cookies (something less messy) - maybe chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin? I need to search for a new recipe and try one out. Something different. As for bread, I make pumpkin and banana bread. Everything is completely from scratch too, no box mixes!

Which no-bake cookies? All of mine are bake-type. I made forgotten cookies, biscotti and fudge this weekend. I'll be making gingerbread men on Wednesday. I also made some cinnamon bread, but from a mix. That's great that you are making some breads from scratch.
