Default Did you exercise?

I get that question a lot when people ask about my weight loss... The answer is "of course" and then a lot of people seem disappointed... I am just curious if anyone else has ever gotten that reaction?

It is because most people are looking for a 'quick' fix with the least amount of energy. I can honestly say most of my weight has been lost without exercise however I do notice I look better because I am now exercising.

SweaterGirl, maybe they wouldn't be as discouraged if they tried something simple, like walking. I walk/jog about 2-3 miles each morning, and feel like that has been *very* important to my weight loss. Now that I'm lifetime, I wouldn't think of giving that up, and have added a few other kinds of exercise. But the walking did the trick, and almost everyone can do that.

And major kudos to you for your success!

I didn't run right out and sign up for a an exercise class, I just increased my walking a little more. I've never been one to enroll in an exercise class (I get bored) so I figured I'd better do something that I can do without getting bored. Walking has been great in that respect, especially since you can do it anywhere and it doesn't take any extra equipment other than a good pair of walking shoes. I enjoy my walks and tend to vary my paths depending on my mood.
