Default Just want to cry

I am normally a bubbly, cofident person. I have always yo-yo'd a bit with my weight but the last five years I have done awesome. I am 30 before I got married I worked so hard to get the wieght off. I lost alot. I went for a 22 to 12. I bounced a little between 12 & 14 but was ok with that. I am 5'11 so I carried it well.

A few months ago things had gotten crazy and stressful at work and I was working crazy, long hours. My eating habits during that time were horrible. I could slowly feel the weight creeping up on me. I knew that I was going to be giving my notice(my husband got a new, wonderful job and I can be a stay at home mom! Yay!) and that I would have more time to plan meals and exercise. But now that I have reached that time I am so fustrated and digusted with myself. I am up to a solid 16 and I can not believe that I have allowed this to get out of hand again.

I feel unattractive and find myself feeling out of shape when running or going up stairs. It is a terrible feeling. The normal affectionate, flirty tina is now mopey and hiding behind big baggy sweatshirts.

I am not me anymore and I need to do something. I really think I am gonna call weight watchers tomorrow. I guess I am scared, one about how much it may cost and the obvious of having someone weigh my big bootay in...lol. But know I have to swallow my pride and do it.

I am hoping to hear some feedback from other weightwatcher chickies! I think I will go with the more structured plan opposed to the flex. I am not sure, I am just going off the info I found online.

I am sorry for the woe is me post. I am just sad and disappointed in myself.

Hi there &

Soul's right. Don't be so hard on yourself! We're all here because we struggle with weight issues, and we're trying to get it off the "right" way this time (right being forever!).

I've been a WW member since April of 2007, and let me just say that I love it. The group support is wonderful and full of advice. It's not so bad having someone else weight you in, because they're friendly, non-judgmental and having another person to be accountable to has kept me on track many a days.

Here's most likely what will happen. You'll go in and register (there may be a registration fee, I'm sorry I don't know how much), they'll weigh you in and you'll get a few materials & booklets. You'll go through the meeting and the leader will ask you to stay after to explain the two different plans. Core and Flex. You'll chose one to follow just for a week. And you can change the plan the following week after your weigh-in if it's not something you like. But, they ask that you follow the plan solidly for a week, because they are different in how they work.

Meetings cost slightly different depending on what sort of payment options you choose. And I'm not sure what the prices are, because I use the Monthly Pass (I like it a lot). That is about $40 per month, BUT! I used to spend more than $40 buying a bunch of crap to eat, and my health is worth it to me. The leader at your meetings can also thoroughly go over the payment options and you can choose what's right for you at the moment.

Best of success! Keep posting & let us know how things go!

Thanks for the kind word soul and the great info faerie.

I really have my mind set I am gonna do this! I was reading about the monthly pass. They offer it close to me. Are the online tools cool?

Do you have to buy materials, the book etc? II can swing $40 a month, like you said I can spend that on fast food..lol. I just do not have $200 to drop for registering and materials. That monthly pass in my area shows no registraion fee.

Anyways I will be calling first thing in the morning!

Thank you again for the support and info!! You all rock!

I am brand new here too!

I absolutely love WW. I have tried many other "diets" in the past, but for me and so many others, it truly works. I joined in June 2007, reached my goal in January of this year, and have lost 10 more pounds. I feel like a new person (and look like it too!)

The meetings are awesome. The online tools are great too. You do not need to spend any more than the $40 monthly fee, though you may decide to here or there. You get all the "tools" you need to start. They of course offer many other tools, snacks, etc. but you don't have to buy them.

One suggestion I would make it to find a meeting time that works for you and just go. (you can find times/places for meetings online) However, if you don't feel motivated by your leader, try another day/time. I tried a few leaders before I found the one that clicked for me. The program still works no matter who is leading the meeting, but my leader is so awesome that I am totally motivated each and every week (and I still go each week even though I'm at goal).

It is not embarrassing to "weigh in". It is pretty private-- they don't announce your weight or anything like that. Everyone there will have been where you are so no one is judging you and there will most likely be folks there much larger than you.

Good luck-- you can do it!!

Just Go!! I started three weeks ago tomorrow and have already lost over 10 pounds. And, I completely know how you feel about being out of shape, tired out chasing the kids, etc. But, you know -- I let myself gain 100 pounds before I got totally disgusted with myself -- cheers to you for catching it quickly -- just think it's going to cost you probably about $10 a week but you can be in maitenance in no time and it will cost you nothing for the rest of your life -- I look forward to that day.

The materials are free with each meeting, unless there is something extra you want but they do provide everything you need to succeed. After just my first week I felt better, had more energy and was less "down on myself" -- you can do this

I also have the monthly pass -- mostly so I won't quit -- it's billed a month ahead of time so if one week I find myself down and wanting to quit, I figure I have a few weeks to regroup and get back on track because it's already paid for -- as opposed to paying weekly, it was too easy for me to just quit.

I am not a WW chick. However, I have struggled and yo-yo'd most of my life. Being overweight is like any other "addiction" type illness. You must accept that you have the illness and be ready to make the lifestyle changes required to "cure" the illness. It sounds like you are to that point. 3FC is an excellent place full of information, and helpful, caring, supportive people. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!

The meeting here is Thursday night & I'm really thinking about going this time.
Everyone here's so helpful & kind,it helps me alot.
Let us know how it goes,I'll let ya know Fri. or maybe Thurs. night if I go.

You should totally go. I went and loved it. I signed up for the online tools, they are great. I am so happy I went. I keep thinking if I would have made the plunge 6 months ago, I would be alot lighter!

Don't wait till next week. (for me I would always say, I will start next week!) start Thursday!! There is no food in the world good enough to make me feel as badly I have have the last month.

Come on and start with me! We both can be newbies!!

I'm so glad you went-- hooray for you!
My leader says so many wonderful things but one thing she said has really resonated with me....
Sometimes we get frustrated that weight loss can be slow, however if we look at it long-term..... we will (god willing) be here a year from now. Would you rather be the same (or heavier) or have started your weight loss journey and have lost X amount of weight? She tells us this when she tells us about some people taking 2 or 3 years to lose their weight--- it doesn't matter how long it takes as long as you are doing it and getting healthier!
