  • I am for a while! We are starting WW at work but it doesn't start until Februaury 4th and I needed to get going before that to lose 20 by spring break. I also want to lose another 20 by June 1st. My motivation is to take my son swimming without being embarassed. I don't want him to not get to do things because I can't control what I stuff in my face!! He is 11 months old. I started last week I borrowed materials I lost my old ones. I lost 6 lbs. I'm sure most of it was water weight since it is that time of month. But I will take it and it's a good jump start!!
  • I am doing it too without meetings. I have all the materials I purchased last year when I joined online. Started again Sunday. I was going to join online again, but then I discovered WW groups here on 3fc that I think I can get what I need here. I don't like going to meetings and don't really don't to spend the money for them and I know I can always go back and join WW online again if I need to. My sister who lives in TX goes to meetings and shares things with me.

  • I'm doing it on my own as well! No meetings and no WW online either. I do have an aunt who is doing WW as well, and if I have a problem or a question (that I don't ask or look for an answer here!) she helps me out. I just hope that without having something to be accountable for, like the meetings, that I won't stick with it. However, my aunt seems to be quite good about emailing me on weigh in day to see how I'm doing, and I do the same for her on her weigh in day. It seems to be working, as I have lost a bit of weight already, and I am journaling everything I eat like my life depends on it!
  • I'm going it alone, too. Last year, I had two roommates, and we all followed it together. Even though we didn't share our weight, we kept each other on track. We also supported each other a lot. Now I live on m own, and find it harder to keep it up. When I moved, I slipped into all of my old habits and regained 25 of the 30 that I had lost.
I want to be successful in doing it at home, but I'm a but worried that I'll veer off course. I'm a but of a cheater, but financially, I can't join just yet.

Let's just cross our fingers and offer each other support. We can do it if we keep our minds focused!!
  • I have been splurging on fresh fish on fridays... I keep saying "it is cheaper than going to WW!" Between the cost of the meetings and the time to go, I have just been finding it easier to go it alone... EXCEPT, really, I am not alone, b/c I keep coming here for support and to read everyone else's stories, and get help with questions... And my ticker shows how much I have lost, so if I don't lose... everyone... will... know...
  • Hi there...I am doing this on my own too...well, not really anymore since I found this place and so many wonderful people....I have the info from the first time I did it. I have this thing where I will only let myself be weighed first thing in the morning before I eat anything and since I cant get to a meeting because of work and school in the mornings...decided to just see if I can do it on my own...I think if I run into problems I might rethink that decision and go to an evening meeting but, Im afraid (knowing myself) that I would try to not eat anything that day until I was weighed...I just wish I trusted my scale more...if anyone has any ideas on a really great digital scale that has proved itself over the long haul, I would love to find a better one....Ive tried and returned 3 different brands

I have the Chefmate Digital Nutritional food scale from Target. It looks like metal, but it's just a silver plastic. It works GREAT! It comes with a booklet full of codes for various food items so that you can find out exactly the nutrients of the food you are weighing. (And you can add up to 99 custom foods too.) Or you can use it strictly as a scale to just weigh the food (without entering codes for the nutrition info). It has the other features a person needs like being able to tare and weigh in grams or ounces. It was $39.99.

  • I am doing it at home also. I actually went to the center and bought the blue kit with goodies..but then ordered the At home kit also because I decided I wanted the magazine, cookbook etc..and figured I could always put the dining out and food companion books in my car and keep one in my house.

Anyway so far so good. I love it! I just really do not want to go to meetings. So here I am.
