happy friday

  • Good morning everyone. I am so glad today is Friday. It's been a long week. But, I always have mixed emotions, since the weekend is a hard time for me. I know someone who was really strict during the week and then allowed herself to go over on weekends. It slowed down her losing, but she was consistent. Do you all have any weekend tips?

I have been going to meetings 9 weeks and have lost 3 pounds. The reason for the slow losing is...I'm not following program as well as I could. My weigh ins are on Tuesday nights, so I really want to do well this week (and the rest of the weeks of my life!)

    Have a great Friday!

  • TINA, first of all I just want to say that I'm glad that you are still going to the meetings. Whatever you do, don't give up.

Do you exercise and do you drink your water? Those two things might make a big difference in your progress if you aren't doing them now.

You also say that you aren't following the plan correctly. I would suggest that for one week you eat within your points all week. You might be so pleasantly surprised. If you saw a 2 or 3 lb loss (or more) in a week, you might be inspired to follow the plan better.

I also have a friend that has problems with the weekend. My advice for her has been to eat at the lower end of her point range all week, relax on Friday and Saturday, and eat less on Sunday and Monday. Monday is our weigh in. Last week she really thought she would see a gain. Monday she was pleasantly surprised with a 2.4 lb loss. Because she had done so well during the week, her dinner out was not as hard on here as she thought.

But no matter what advice you get here, success starts with and within yourself. You have got to really want this, then you will but your needs first.

    Good luck,

  • Only you can control what goes into your mouth...and onto your hips. The suggestion to eat less during the week and bank 10 points for the weekend was a good one.

Are you journaling? That will truly show you where you need to make changes. Are you at least eating a balanced food plan or are you eating junk? Weight comes off better with a balanced food plan and we are healthier for it. Variety keeps us from getting bored and going off program.
