|
Hello ladies!! I am back from Mexico with a tan and a few less pounds believe it or not! My scale showed me this morning at 170. That means that tomorrow I should be about 169 at weigh in. My scale is a bit higher than at my meetings. I was gone for nine days. It was great. I am happy to be home though. Back on track thank God. :) I had my malt o meal for breakfast and went to the gym for an hour and burned off 399 calories. Boot camp ended while I was on vacation. Not sure if I will do that again. Although I really enjoyed it, I was so tired from waking up at 5:00 in the morning. Made evenings kind of rough at home. We'll see what happens.
Kim, so glad to see you are back at meetings. They help me so much. CONGRATULATIONS on the HUGE loss!!! Keep it up!!! Lynn, how are you doing??? Glad to see you still here after we weren't checking in. Let's get back to tracking our food........... breakfast malt o meal 3pts lunch salad 3pts crackers with laughing cow cheese 3pts dinner???????? we will have to see. No plans yet. ---Amy |
Morning Amy,welcome back.I need a vacation myself.I have not been eating well as of late but I get in my workouts.
Breakfast: fibre one 1 nuts 1 milk 1 banana 1 ---------------- will add more after I know what I am eating. Workout will include 60 min of weight training. |
Hello there. Guess I'm not quite back in the swing of things. I went to meeting last night and was up to a maintain. That's just fine. I will take it. It so could have been worse.
Yet another game plan. I seem to be coming up with many these days. I am cutting down the personal training to just one day a week. Get this, it will save me $136 a month. This on top of not paying for preschool anymore will be quite a treat. On the days I used to do personal training, I am going to be taking classes at my gym. Found an instructor that is in fabulous shape and teaches great classes. Only downer is I'm back to hitting the gym at 5:30 am. I was really not wanting to do that anymore. I am going to try to make it work. This will be a good thing when school starts so that when I am not being the cross guard and lunch aid, I will have some time to myself and not have to spend it at the gym. Anyway,,,,,,,,,,,back to this tracking thing AGAIN...... breakfast Jimmy dean de light breakfast sandwich 5 delicious points. :) lunch delightful bread 1pt 2oz ham 1pt mustard 0pts 100 cal cheetos 2pts 9 so far. Staying on track today. --Amy |

Hello everyone.
School is out (except for these darn masters classes I am taking). Should we celebrate the fact I am down from 217.4 to 206 or lament that I was at 180 something last June and am now up to 206? I have been attending WW meetings sporadically - consistant gains. I tend to diet on M,T and then enjoy the rest of the week. I perfected the apple pie this winter. news news - I taught high school kids every other day all last year, skied a ton with the kids, but pretty much haven't exercised since ski season got over. I host "pool parties" a few times a week, so I am in the pool a lot, but not doing laps like I should. I keep wanting to exercise, but not actually doing it. Not exactly a slug, I take the kids for bike rides, but when you are riding slow enough for a 4 year old to keep up, you don't exactly break a sweat. Same with walks and hikes. Haven't acually cancelled my gym membership, but there is dust on my combination lock. Still have dial up, and can't access the WW website from home without my computer freezing up. Today: cereal with milk (3 points) bites of kids pancakes with syrup (no idea - 5?) Attended first WW meeting in 2.5 months (up 6lbs) Why is that if we lost 6 pounds in 2.5 months, it would feel like a different #? nonfat latte (2) can't remember lunch.. think, think, think, ... still thinking skip to dinner tofu (4) veggies (0) cottage cheese (1) hummus (2) wine (2) pretzels (2) cottage cheese did the trick. small baked potato with salsa and cottage cheese for lunch (5) 25 point day - priceless |
on kids and exercise - don't read this if you don't want to hear whining.
It is so hard to ditch my children lately. DH is working a ton, got a nice promotion :) though, celebrated with champagne, grandparents on a month road trip, ggparents with shingles (ouch), two different aunt sets out on their yachts for the summer, and the other a bit under the weather, best friend with new baby - I can't get past her porch because we might disturb the sleeping... and the one cousin I do swap kids with, well, I don't want to wear her out. So - it is just me and my children -- with me sometimes wishing I could be like the other teacher mom's that (gasp) leave their kids in day care while they relax on summer vacation. We spend the day building forts, practicing with our scissors and pencil grip, and baking cookies and pies for dad. I am going to have to cut out the cookies and pies for dad and add in a few more "family adventure days" if this is going to work. Sunday I loaded up 1 puppy, 1 toddler, 1 kid, two bikes, a pull behind, and our big dog - we rode to beach and spent the day in the sand. It was fun. But bike rides for me used to be 20 milers not 2 milers. I just want some me-time. Hard to fit that in with end of the school year chaos, two 20 page projects due and two baby quilts to whip out in the next 3 weeks. I would never make it as a single mom - hats off to you all. grandparents will be home in 5 days, tick, tick, tick.... |
Hats off to you morrigan.I would be nuts.I have one kid 13years old.I am not cool so she doesn't want to hang much.
Pigged out yesterday but I did my spinning class and some yoga.Things balance out lol. |
3days til weigh in I figure if I am good I can maybe drop a pound. So heres to being good and working out hard.
Breakfast: fibre one 1 banana 1 milk 1 nuts 1 ----------------------- lunch: my 4 point sandwich -------------------------- Not sure about dinner. Workout will be 60 min weight training ,35m cardio |
Hi ladies!!! How funny, as I was waiting for my slow computer to sign on, I was thinking I wonder how Morrigan is doing. And, here you are! Great to hear from you.
Okay, so I have been doing horrific!! The worst thing I have ever done to date on Weight Watchers.........well, my husband has been out of town. He is coming back today (Thank God!!). I went and bought a 1/2 gallon of butterfinger loaded Dryer's ice cream. I was having my neighbor and her girls over for dinner (since her DH is out of town too). I thought it would be a quick and easy dessert for all of us. WELL,,,,,I took little spoon fulls all day long. By the time I opened it after dinner it was half gone. We all had 1 scoop after dinner (not a huge amount) and after they left last night I finished off the container. I ate most of the entire container all by myself and all in one day. Gee.........why was I over weight??? So I stepped on the scale this morning like I always used to do. Shows me at 173. I expect that to be higher tomorrow. We will see. I've done ok this morning, but it is only 10:15 am. I am really gonna try. We leave for Texas on Saturday and will be gone for a week. I will use the in-law's computer to check in though. Good thing is I don't eat much when traveling. I get a nervous stomach. Morrigan, I am right there with you on the kid thing. Everyone I know does the daycare thing over the summer or at least some all day camps. I don't do anything of the sort. I think I will enjoy myself more if I do stuff with my kids all summer long. So, we too have kept busy. Lots of swimming, vacationing, and having fun in general. However, I am getting wore out. My husband has been away from us all too much this summer. The weekend after we get back from Texas two of my girlfriends and I are headed to a resort for a spa weekend. I hope it brings much needed relaxation and adult conversation. Will check in later. --Amy |
I need to up yesterday to 29 points (forgot the two skinny cow sandwiches while I was working on my paper).
Today so far: fish (3) shrimp (1) carrots with hummus (2) pretzels (1) water (0) strawberries fresh from the garden :) (1) chicken/bean soup (6) wine (3) 17 so far - the chicken soup is really yummy carrots with hummus (4) more soup (3) 24 points oh.. and more wine (3) 27 points Spent 2 hours in the pool with the kids, just got them down for a nap, poured a glass of wine -- got a call from some high school kids that want math help. Glass of wine on hold, off to Algebra land. |
Good morning all. It is 7:20 here and I am back from the gym. Went to the early class that I love. Well, I don't love it but I know it is a killer work out. I actually feel kind of dumb in it. I can't do most of the stuff they do on and over the step. I have no coordination. Then, I get so sick feeling or my heart rate goes up way too high, so I have to march in place some of the time. I also took a look around and I am the largest one in the class. Everyone in there is very fit. I guess that's the company I should be around though.
breakfast non fat yogurt, blueberries, and granola 3pts |
Ok, you are inspiring me to check out the group exercise schedule at my club.
I'll give you an update later this week. Road my bike to town today (11 miles) with about a 200ft elevation drop and not many hills. Sore thumb from shifting and my bike needs a tune up, but it felt good. DH started riding a few months ago. He does a 2000 ft elevation gain every Friday in 9 miles (the road up to work), and then rides trails up the mountain after work. I am not as comfortable on trails as I was when I was younger, so I mostly stick to easy mt bike trails and bike paths. Ate a cliff bar and coffee when I got home last night - so a 32 point day yesterday. |
Monday 24 points + 5 flex points
Tuesday 24 points + 8 flex points Today: melon (1) Creamer (1) cereal with milk (4) pretzels (1) muffin(1) latte (2) 10 so far I am getting to old to try to recreate yesterday's food from today's memory. Ok -- we had a pool party. The kids ate popcorn, I came in and ate more hummus and pretzels. (5) Got home late, stir fried tofu and veggies with feta and cottage cheese (6) popcorn and butter with the kids - we watched Bridge to Terabithia and I cried like a baby. (5) 27 point day Oh, and skiiny cow x2 31 point day |
UGH...........shot to #@!!. I ruined today. Took my daughter to a movie and a pottery painting studio for a "date". I did one in early June with DH and one with my son in May. Next, I get a date all on my own. :) Anyway, I ate popcorn and about half of DD huge bag of Reese's pieces. Then, I ate cold stone ice cream. Oh well. MOVE ON. Right??? I will check in tomorrow. Have a good night. --Amy

Hey Amy,
Have you been checking out the alli thread at all?I am curious about it. Not sure what is going on today I am really sore from working out yesterday.I have got to get my eating on track. Here I wasted another month of trying to get 9 pounds off.I don't know why I keep screwing up.On the plus side though I am working out faithfully again. I will have my usual breakfast and take it from there. |
Hi there. Odd morning. So far I've taken my daughter to the orthodontist, gone grocery shopping, and consumed one grande coffee and two hand fulls of granola. ???????? I really need to get back to the journal. I didn't even measure or calculate the granola. It's homemade by my neighbor. I could figure it out.
Lynn, I have not checked out the Alli. What is it? Is it the new OTC drug?? If so, I will stay away. I don't even like to take Tylenol let alone odd drugs. I did Phen Phen back in the day before they pulled it. I did it for two weeks. That stuff was odd. I straight up did not feel like eating. A cookie or cakes or anything else yummy did not even interest me. It scared me. My husband had to make me eat dinner during those two weeks. I knew it was not good for me and stopped at that time. My mom stayed on it until they took it off the market. She lost a ton of weight and now is back up over 300 pounds. :( Getting ready for the road trip to Texas. Will check in later. ---Amy |
Yes it is the new OTC diet pill. From what I am gathering from posts are some people are working around it to still eat badly. The commercials really stress it isn't something to try you have to commit and that means healthy eating and taking the meds not sometimes healthy and not taking the meds when you splurge.I remember phenphen a few people at my old work took it and lost a lot of weight. Then they gained it all back when the drug was pulled. This healthy eating is a lifetime thing no ifs ands or buts.

No plans for the weekend, except farmers market on Saturday. Taking the kiddos (3,4) on a 6 mile hike Monday. I am probably insane and will end up carrying them. We spent about 2 hours in the pool today and went for a short bike ride with the kids. I tried to go to Nia, but I didn't make daycare reservations at the gym and it was full when I got there. |
Hi guys. I am back from Texas. Had a nice visit with the in-laws. Kids really had a good time. Scale shows I maintained. Yipee! That's all I can ask for really. Anyone still checking in here? I see it's been a while for everyone.

Fresh start
So, I am back from vacation(s) and ready to get this done. I had not weighed in for three weeks. Good new is....I was down .2. Not much but I was expecting a gain, so I am elated!!! I have been on vacation since July 12th, no internet or even cell phone, just lots of ocean. Didn't want to even try weighing in at WW until I do a good job for a few weeks. Sausage and bacon for breakfast every day.
I have until Saturday to practice for the long bridge swim. I need a plan - like - do not put anything in my mouth unless I know exactly how many calories are in it. Got stung today on the wrist - fingers starting to go numb, so I should probably make this short. It was actually pretty cool. Last time I got stung I had difficulty breathing. I have been doing bee venom shots for a year, and now I have just a bit of swelling. Today: kashi with milk (3) salad with lean cuisine (5) salad with tofu (2) pasta salad (4) 14 points so far |
Ended up with 9 more points and a 23 point day yesterday.
Today: no significant exercise, a few hours in the pool with the kids. Breakfast: cereal with milk (3) lunch rice/bean salad (5) dinner tofu stir fry (8) snack hummus (1) a little more tofu stuff 19 points today Best two days I have had in a row in months. |
Then DH came home with a taco salad from my favorite restaurant after I declined to go with them (too busy). Should have been more honest. Ate the entire salad - shell and all.
Today: cereal with milk (3) wheat thins (3) creamer (2) |
I think it is safe to say summer has gotten the best of me.I have been spending PC time on WW site downloading recipes from about 400 pages of recipe reviews.I haven't had the chance to get back here.
I have not been doing the best since I last checked in but last week I got serious again and took off 5 pounds.I am newly inspired and will behave with eating and exercising.Back to the gym Monday. I have missed you all and hope you are having a great summer!!! |
Happy Sunday!
I am going to have an OP day.I don't know meals beyond breakfast though.I am going to do some serious weeding now that I have my jam out of the way. Breakkie: milk 1 fiber one 2 nuts 1 banana 1 |
Morning ladies,
I am almost done the recipe review on the WW site.Forty more pages to go.I got some great recipes and I am trying them slowly but surely. My eating isn't too bad.I am going to a meeting on Thurs.I hope I at least lose something since last time which was months ago.I really fell off the wagon.I lost my workout drive and everything. I swear to get it back even if it kills me lol. |
I just haven't been able to get back to dieting. We are in the midst of 9 concerts in 12 days. It was fun before kids, but with having them up at concerts til 10 or 11 pm night after night, it is wearing me down. DH leaves for South America on Saturday. I didn't eat leftover apple crisp for breakfast at least this morning.
Busted out a food journal. I'll log in again later today with my progress. |
It is hard I know Morrigan.Life throws too many curve balls. At least we are thinking about it and as long as it is there in our minds then I believe we will find our way back.Once I get this adoption out of the way and the whole green card issue it will be time for school. There will be no more excuses after that and I will set a new goal of being there by Christmas.God it is the C word lol.

Hello again
Hi ladies. It is so good to see some familiar faces around here. I tried to post after my last vacation, but nobody was around. You may have read that. Things have changed a bit for me. The working out or at least personal trainer was put on hiatus over the summer. My work out partner was never available when I was and she started to do 5:30 EVERY morning with another friend of ours. Good for them. My marriage would not survive that. It caused me to go to sleep between 8 and 8:30. Not real conducive to a healthy marriage. Anyway, we finally got it together and are now doing the personal trainer only on Mondays. This is down from three days a week. On Wed. and Thurs. I am joining my two friends at 5:30 for a class at the gym that is VERY good. I think it really makes up for the trainer and is free.
On a money note.........my hubby and I put together a budget (we've never done one). And because I have been paying for WW since November and not lost since then, I decided to quit meetings. Thing is, I have been maintaining the whole time. I may bump up two pounds but it goes right back down. So, I am trying to do it on my own without paying $12 a week. So far so good. I am right back down to a solid 170 vs 172 or 173. I started "working." I put that in quotes because I am very part time. Even though it's part time, it takes up a lot of my day. I am a cross guard (morning and afternoon) and a recess aide at school (mid day). And it is so hot here right now that in between shifts I am layed out on the sofa trying to lower my body temperature. About the time I get back to normal I head back to the school. I like it though. It will be a cake walk come winter. I like to be around my kids during the day too. It's not so hard with my youngest in kindergarten. I see him in the middle of the day and can volunteer easily now. Anyway, that's my update. I will check back in tomorrow perhaps to do some tracking. Nice to hear from you both again! --Amy |
Great job Amy being able to maintain for so long.I too have avoided the meetings. Before last winter when I was hurt I had done that same maintaining. How I wish I appreciated it cause now I still have the extra ten on.
I am working on a continuous menu that will go at least month to month.I have a lot stockpiled in the freezer.I am trying a new one tonight bubble up pizza casserole. If it measures up I will share the recipe...came from the WW site. Talk to you guys tomorrow and will start tracking the food as well. |
Recovering from being ill.........only went to the gym on Monday.
breakfast today: 2 special K waffles w/spray butter and Tbs light syrup 3pts. |
Being sick is going around I think. My husband has been in bed all day.I almost wish I was sick then I could stop eating.
|
Caved at lunch time. Saw the office ladies eating salads at lunch time. I had to run out and get one. So.......
Quiznos chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. It's not one of those good salads. It had bacon and cheese and flat bread. It was yummy. Only saving grace is that I am so full, I am gonna skip dinner. May keep me within points today. Not sure. I am gonna go over to calorie king and see if I can find it over there. Have a good night. EDIT: okay, figured the salad was about 22 freakin' points. Wow! Well, at least it tasted good. :) |
Good morning! I made it through the night ok. I did skip dinner but had a light snack at about 7:30 of 1/2 C low fat cottage cheese and a very small can of lite diced pears with it. It was perfect. I was at a craft night with some friends. I was hungry on the way home at 10:30 but made it to bed without comsuming anything else. Woke up feeling pretty hungry but skinny too. That's a good motivator. I am making a batch of Irish oatmeal right now. I figured I could use something substantial with low points for breakfast.
Unfortunately I am having some family related stress these days. I think I am having a "flare" up of an old ulcer. That should keep me away from too much food. Have a good day. I will check in when I can. We are having some friends over for the night tonight. Not sure when it will be convenient to hop on line. |
Amy,
I thought ulcers were cause by bacteria and that a round of antibiotics couls get rid of it.Of course maybe that doesn't apply to all of them. Waking up feeling skinny, now that is a forgotten feeling. The recipe from the other night was really good.Let me know if you guys like it. Bubble Up Pizza Casserole 6 Servings @ 7.5 Points or 8 Servings @ 5.5 Points 1 lb. very lean ground beef 1 onion, chopped 16 oz. tomato sauce ½ t. dried basil 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 t. Italian seasoning 17 slices turkey pepperoni (optional) Veggie Toppings for additional points if necessary– onion, mushrooms, peppers, banana peppers, black olives, etc. 2 cans (7.5 oz.) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits 1-1/4 c. reduced-fat shredded mozzarella cheese Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In skillet, brown meat and onion over medium heat until browned, stirring to crumble. Stir in tomato sauce, basil, garlic and Italian seasoning. Add veggies and pepperoni. Cut biscuits into quarters, add to mixture. Stir gently until biscuits are covered with sauce. Spray 9”x13” baking dish with Pam. Spoon mixture into dish. Bake 25 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese and bake an additional 10 minutes or until biscuits are done. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. |
