Oh Linda! I knew your NSVs were out there! Yaaaaaay! And personally I think that the scale does lie, and jeans always tell the truth. There you have it!

I am sure that people are noticing. If you got a new more up to date haircut, or contacts or something, people would have no qualms mentioning it. But weight, that's another story. I told a friend that I started running and then he mentioned that he could tell tht i lost weight, but didn't want to say anything because some people are so sensitive about it. and secretive about the fact that they are trying. I said, "well I didn't take up running to get fatter!" i have a friend who is also losing weight, and she has really lost a significant amount. she won't even tell me how much, i guess since she still has a ways to go. anyway, she doesn't like it when people say something- it makes her feel like she looked like crap before.

however, i agree- let's do be more generous with compliments; it takes so little to make someone else feel good.

Pixie, and I compliment YOU on sticking with all your exercise! You are inspiring me.
I think people should feel comfortable commenting on a weight loss and improved appearance, but never saying a thing about the opposite!
Imagine having someone come up to you and say, "Hi there, haven't seen you in ages, gosh you've gotten heavy haven't you?" Yikes!!!!

*cringe*

i know that as i was getting heavier, people didn't say it out loud, but i could see it on their faces if we hadn't seen eachother in a while.

Thanks for the compliment on my exercise too! I know that it will pay off soon! I know that there are beautiful muscles underneath the wobbly bits- I just have to find them.

There are muscles under my wobbly bits too. Just because I am getting older doesn't mean I have to accept looking bad. I'm 52 and I guess my NSV of the day is that I did a work out and I'm sore from it. But, it's a "good" soreness!

Derrydaughter it does take time for people to really notice. I had lost about 50lbs before anyone really noticed.

Wannabe, and I'm sure they truly noticed considering those numbers you have, you've done fabulously.
But, I do think one of the most wonderful parts of all of this is having someone else take note. One day that will happen for me, I am sure!
Thanks,
Linda

It is great for someone else to take notice. Sometimes it just takes them some time. It's when they notice that the clothes are really getting smaller or that whatever you have on is about to fall off, lol
