Talking Share your non-scale victories!!!!

I just wanted to start a new thread where people could post and say something that they feel good and positive about related to their weight loss efforts.
NSV's are great things and they make us feel so very good!

For example, I have a pair of size 14 jeans that are just too baggy for me to wear any longer!!! Woo Hoo!!!! The ones I am wearing are size 10, they feel a bit snug but I am wearing them!!!! Woo Hoo again!!!!

I walked by the Girl Scouts selling cookies outside my grocery store today and I chose not to buy them. I have NEVER done that before. I will not be eating an entire box of those wonderful thin mints tonight and beating myself up for it! I love you Girl Scouts and I shall make a donation without buying those sinful treats this year!

My new jeans are falling off my butt. Oh, and today I resisted the urge to buy and devour a candy bar.

well the fact i have actually stuck to it & managed to lose weight is the biggest victory I could have wished for!!!!!!

but specifically in the last week, I did 245 minutes of exercise!!! Considering a month ago I'd have done maybe 30 minutes a week - at a stretch, it is pretty amazing

AWESOME NSVs!!!!!!
Keep 'em coming!
I think these are the things that truly make it all worthwhile.
I resisted the food tables at my monthly quilt guild meeting this morning for the most part. People were loading up plates of food, as if it was a meal. I had ONE doughnut hole, period. I'm proud of myself for that.
Momawdebbie, that was not too much to share!

Lori, I think you are really on the right track!
You're doing better than I am if you are able to pass up many sweets that are offered to you. It's very hard to do.

Two NSV's for me to share....I was digging through my purse this morning (yep, it's a mess in there) and found a candy bar that I bought a month ago on a road trip. I had bought it, thinking I would work it into my points if I really wanted it, but I still have it.....guess I'll give it to my kiddos tonight, I obviously don't really want it!

Second, as of a couple weeks ago I'm finally into my size 12 inspiration jeans (I buy a new pair in a size too small every time my size changes). Since all clothing is cut differently, I knew that even though the jeans fit fine, many other 12's would probably not fit. The other day I was at Costco and they had the cutest little skorts out for spring, so I picked up two of them in 12's (they looked so small!) and hung them in the closet thinking they might fit me when when the weather warms up a bit. I couldn't stand it any longer and tried them on this morning and they fit! I guess it's official, I am a size 12 now! I think I'll take those skorts back and exchange them for 10's.....

Way to go Kelly! Woo Hoo!!
I like your style buying smaller items to inspire yourself, maybe I will do that as well.
I am wearing my size 10 jeans right now and they don't feel awful like I can't breath. That is such a great feeling to not feel movement restricted as the clothing "binds" me. It feels "just right". I really happy about that!
Keep at it everyone!

Talking Girl Scout Cookies!

I'm a Boy Scout mom and made deals last fall with all my Girl Scout mom friends. "You buy popcorn and I promise to buy cookies." Well, to make a long story short I ended up buying 14 boxes of GS cookies to make good on my promise. No Thin Mints, though!

Anyway--my other downfall is the peanut butter cookies covered in chocolate. I didn't intend to buy any of those, either. Apparently I mismarked an order form and one box showed up in my house. My first NSV--it's been in my house for over a week now and it's only half gone! My younger son has been eating them and I've had a few--and counted the points, thank you very much. But the major NSV for me was yesterday. I was super-stressed from work (I work from home) and was genuinely hungry--tummmy was GROWLING. I went straight for the half box of cookies. I put down the half box of cookies and got out an apple, cut it up, and added a tablespoon of peanut butter for some protein, and ate that instead.

Kathy, you are a very good girl!
Now, one thing I have done with G.S. Cookies or anything that is calling my name in the kitchen is to bring it to a meeting or to church coffee hour. Another thing that is very nice to do is to bring it to your local nursing home. The one my dad was at before he passed away had a morning social for those residents that were able with punch or coffee/tea and they gave out cookies and things like that (usually store bought). They might appreciate the donation? But, ask first as there are diabetics - but not ALL the patients. My dad would have appreciated peanut butter or chocolate cookies at that time as his options there were rather institutional.

My size 5/7 pants fit comfortably again as opposed to being snug and tight in the bum.

I can do some of the harder yoga poses

I feel that I have more stamina in kickboxing and club boxing. I don't need to stop to breathe anymore.

I moved up in weights. I can press 105 with my legs, I can do 100 with back, and 45-65 for arms (depending on which machine it is)

Tristesse, wow! You certainly have accomplished a great deal! You go girl!
Is 107 in the recommended weight ranges for 5'5" tall? Sounds awfully lightweight!
Stay healthy!

Default Huge NSV!!!

Okay well huge for me!! I joined WW on Saturday. I hiked Saturday afternoon about 3 km. Sunday I lazed about without guilt. This morning walked the videos back to the store instead of driving....totalling .97 of 1 km.

To most it would sound slow and very small victories, for me it's huge, it's about staying on this plan.....and the only way I can do it is in a small way......

Thanks for starting this thread....it's great!!!!

INHTSE, sounds like you are on a roll! I think we all need to look at the changes in our lifestyle that we make as victories!
Great job!

A little NSV for me today. DD wanted to go to one of our local resale shops. It's a big one, and sometimes you find things, sometimes you don't. Well today there was the cutest pair of khaki shorts from Old Navy with the tags still on them. They were a size 10, but looked pretty small. I decided to try them on anyway (I'm in a size 12 right now). They're too small to wear right now, but I got them on, buttoned and zipped without jumping up and down, LOL. I bought them! I guess the biggest part of the NSV, though, was that I know they'll fit me by May or June. It's not just a wish, or just a pipedream, they will fit. I will wear them this summer. How cool is that?
