Default WW Take Out Tonight!!!

Wow - whoever recommended this cookbook, THANK YOU!!!!!

It has some great recipes that are slimmed down and some of my favorite take out foods. You gotta love a book that has a giant deli muffin recipe in the very beginning that is 6 pts if you choose to make them the jumbo size.

THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!

I just bought this book off of ebay right before Christmas, but with the holiday rush I totally forgot about it! I think maybe I need to find it and take a look!

Stacynak, I think I only paid like $5-$6 on ebay, see if you can find one!

I got mine at my WW meeting and I think I did recommend it here as it is one of my faves - love the Kung Pao Shrimp recipe and the Avogolemono (SP?) soup recipe!

I also so it recently at my local Chapters.

It is a really good book. Great versions of take out meals like Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Italian, Mexican, Indian and deli - a lot of my favorites lightened up!

I also found most of the recipes relatively easy.

Pray tell which recipes are your favorites in this book people!!??
I bought the book as my WW leader recommended it as she knows I'm a Chinesefoodaholic... and when I have Chinese, I retain fluid from the sodium/MSG in it and it blows my weigh ins.
I bought the book, then the holidays "happened" and I've never made a single recipe in it.
So, which ones are the best?

Kung Pao Shrimp on page 38 and the Beef with Broccoli on page 53.

Avgolemono soup on page 60 - I'm not a fan of eggs so I didn't put them in but the soup turned out well anyway and my DH loved it.

Greek Villagers salad on page 61, Hummus on page 32, Lemon Garlic Roast Chicken on page 71 - another of DH's faves from this book.

Mulligatawny soup on page 185, Saag aloo on page 181, Pullao on page196

I have made the above recipes several times and they've all been good according to me, DH and friends.

I haven't attempted any of the Japanese, Italian or Mexican recipes yet but I am still working on trying each recipe at least once,

I'm currently working on the Thai section.

Mauvaisroux, love your name and avatar by the way and just figured I'd say that as you and I have crossed paths so many times and I've never mentioned it.
I'm going to pull out that cookbook from the shelf and go through it with my grocery shopping list beside me. I'll try to plan a few "menus" for next week!
I'm trying to be really good in terms of preparing menus ahead now, this is one of my new efforts as I feel that having a plan truly makes a difference.

I am so TOTALLY addicted to the spanakopita recipe that it is no longer funny. While technically an appetizer (a large one, of two pieces!) of 3 points total, I have been known to actually forgo the main course and eat 9 points worth...Within my budget, and absolutely to DIE for.
I am going to try the beef and bean tacos tomorrow.
LOVE IT!!! Available through mail order at amazon.com:

I've had this book for a month now, and love it!

Ok I'm extremely intrigued now! I'll have to check out this cookbook. I collect them so this will be a nice addition to my collection.
