10% question for those who met it

  • Crazynette's post abut hitting her 10% has me wondering - About how long does it take to reach 10%? I know we all have different weights, goals and 10% amounts, but any "guesses" on about how long it takes (I KNOW, I KNOW, IT TAKES WHAT IT TAKES) But . . .

would people chime who have reached 10% and let us know how long it took you?

I'm hoping to hit mine in the next 4 weeks or so and that would put me around the 20 week mark
  • It took me nearly 6 weeks. However because everyone starts at different weights a person who is 250 would need to lose 25 pounds and someone who is 160 would need to lose 16.

Average weight loss OP is .5-2 pounds a week so it would vary.

Don't compare yourself or anyone else on how long it takes becuause (as my leader said yesterday) there isn't a valid answer for that question.
  • It took me a good 4 months. I really think it is b/c I am not that far from goal so it took me much longer to get there. I had women drop to there 10% in a few weeks at the meetings. But, they had a good amount to lose. I hate to hear it too but it is all personal.
  • Kelly - I'm not comparing. One of my favorite leader sayings is "If you compare, you will despair."

Just curious - besides I LOVE SUCCESS STORIES!!!!
  • Oh ok well that is not the way I perceived your question. My bad.
  • I lost my 10% in 14 weeks.
  • I had the same question. I need to lose 20 pounds to reach my 10% goal. I'm hoping it won't take a whole year to reach it.
  • About 15 weeks
  • About 10 weeks to hit my first 10% AFTER I joined the regular WW meetings. Confusing, I know! I did WW at home for 3 weeks before I went to my first meeting, so my 10% started with that first meeting weigh in. If all goes well, I should hit my second official WW 10% in two or three weeks! YIPPEE!
  • It took me 10 weeks to hit my 10%. 10% for me was 23 lbs. It does totally depend on your starting weight though. I love my key chain, every time I look at it, it reminds me of how far I've come.

    Good luck!
  • Mine was 20lbs. It took me 13 full weeks OP
  • It took my 14 weeks to lose my 10% of 22 lbs!
  • My 10% was 25 lbs and I met that at 8 weeks. I tend to lose fairly quickly in the beginning though.
  • You know my 10% is 17 and I still haven't reached it. I've been doing WW for 14 weeks. I guess I am a really slow loser but actually I don't mind so much. I feel like if I went too fast I would not be able to maintain the weight. Doing it slowly (which means I usually use up all my xtra points, hey I like to go out and eat on the weekends) to me means that I am soaking in the life changing habits and not "doing the program until I am thin then can revert back to the way I used to eat".

I know this may sound like a horrible analogy, but coming from a girl scarred for life from the taunting in school I've come to consider my easy tendancy to gain weight as a medical condition and when Im "thinner" there are periods of "remission". I will never be cured of a predisposition to carry weight coupled with a craving for foods to put it there. So remission means always keeping an eye on what I am doing because always the moments Im not paying attention I gain weight back.
