LWL #278 Oct 23 - 29

Good morning! I'm about to rush off to work but wanted to get the thread started. Cardi done, and it's LEG DAY :strong: We need a lunging smilie. Don't you all smile as you lunge?????

This is countdown week to Halloween. Candy is everywhere- RESIST!!!!! Resistance is NOT futile!

Also countdown weeks for our brides.

OK, gotta run (and squat, deadlift, lunge, jump, step :lol3: )

mel

nelie 10-23-2006 09:13 AM

I think an exercise should be named after Mel as well. Some of the crazy things Mel comes up with sound like something that should be named like Mel's squat or what not.

Anyway, I had a decent weekend except I ate a little too much at the bbq on Saturday but it was at a big park and we ended up getting some walking at least.

Sunday, I did one of my Firm DVDs which was an hour long. I love how they make me sweat so much. Then I got ready for my hair appt with the hair stylist that is doing my hair for the day of the wedding. He is really good and we tried a couple things but I think we are pretty set for what we will be doing on the day of the wedding.

Then DF talked me into going onto a hike or actually he told me he wanted to go on a hike and I picked a nice hard one. We actually got lost on the hike (my fault) but we were able to find our way and it was a really nice walk. There were lots of hills and my legs got a good workout.

I have 3 weeks and 6 days until the wedding. Yikes. I'm going to talk DF into doing some things since he has been helpful in his own way but I have been running around getting stuff done and its exhausting! Plus I start physical therapy tomorrow and I need to be able to take time off of work for that stuff.

Lydia227 10-23-2006 11:44 AM

Good Morning Everyone!

Mel: We DO need a smilie lunger. I do not smile while I'm doing that. Nope it's definetly a grimace. Some would argue that my grimace is my smile.

Nelie: Beware of the hair... It's what made me late to my own wedding. Not my own hair mind you. I'm pretty much a wash and go girl but my bridesmaides. Geeesh. I'm glad you have a good stylist. It takes away the possibility of a "bad hair" day.

Over the weekend my husband and I were able to visit with friends from Bloomington, Ind. They were not here for the game but for a distant relative's funeral. While planning on where to go to dinner the one guest had said that his grandfather grew up in German Village so we decided to give him a tour. We ended up eating lunch there which is so not BFL friendly. So, I threw caution to the wind, had a beer on tap with a yummy brat and kraut sandwich. Wow, I haven't had one of those in YEARS... (am I in trouble now?) Funny thing was I didn't really feel very well about an hour later. :barf: I guess it was a shock to my digestive system. I had to focus to walk straight after just one beer and the brat when right through me. It was a great visit with them though.

Went in for my workout this morning. Yep, still only upper body. I was there for an hour and booked out. After about five minutes cycling my leg began to ache like someone was taking a hammer to it. I thought I was "in repair." I guess NOT! Anyway, I'm staying home on the couch for the rest of the week. Called my sports doc for advisement. I already know what he will say, "about those crutches..." He's been threatening me with them since July. It think the time to submit has arrived. :(

On a happy note, it snowed here today. Pretty little flakes for about an hour. My three year old said they tasted like marshmallows. :goodvibes

Have a great week everyone.

EEK! It snowed in Columbus already? I'll be getting a very unhappy phone call from my dd some time today

Lydia, if your friends had come to see the game, it would have looked like a funeral to them anyway. Sorry it was a sad reason to get together. I LOVE German Village- but I can't eat anything there without the same reaction.

Nelie- Lucky you to have gone hiking this weekend. I had a hike planned, but we started fall lawn cleanup instead-- big mistake! We are pretty much hostage to the yard until the snow falls. I should have ignored it for another week and headed for the AT like I'd planned. This may have been the last nice weekend :(

OK- i'll try to attach a pic of the latest crazy exercise. Note this is NOT me in the picture, I'm taking the picture. The guy doing this can stay up on those balls for 45-60 seconds. I fall off after about 5 seconds and it's taken me about 3 weeks to learn that! Very, very hard...and no weights involved! :)

sportmom 10-23-2006 01:28 PM

Wow! Looks like a cool gym Mel! Great place to work.

RockerGirl 10-23-2006 01:54 PM

That's hard enough with your feet on the ground....very impressive!

WaterRat 10-23-2006 02:28 PM

 I'm not sure I could even get up on them! I'm sure it's a great exercise though.

I'm miserable with a cold - sore throat, headache, achy - :faint: Yuck! I have to go home and meet a repairman in about 20 min. I may just stay there.

Lydia227 10-23-2006 03:23 PM

WOW! Forget running, I WANNA DO THAT!!! :hyper:

Mel, can I have your job? Just for one day? Okay, can I just shadow you? That looks like so much fun. Okay. I'm done now. (Can't wait to show my husband that one.) Maybe I'll head off to get some large exercise balls. Wait, I'm supposed to be on the couch. Well, the kids can play with them until I'm ready. I'd probably get the giggle fits and roll right off anyway.:dizzy:

2frustrated 10-24-2006 05:05 AM

Just over a week to go!

Having a SHOE CRISIS :tantrum: My current shoes catch on the lace of my dress and my bridesmaid says that I should get different shoes.... Why didn't my mother tell me this weeks ago??? Why didn't I figure this out for myself??? GAH! So I am internet shoe-shopping, I have 3 pairs coming and there's 2 pairs that I want to order, both over £100 each! :faint:

I've severely busted up my middle finger punching someone!!! It was an old injury, then I punched someone's hand without gloves  and I can barely move my finger for it hurting. I've strapped it up for now, needless to say typing is a bust! I have 1 working finger on my right hand! I can't grip anything, so no weights (unless I grit my teeth) just cardio in the gym today! :tantrum: I think I could do some press-ups and some lungey things with bodyweight only, will have to get creative!

Lydia227 10-24-2006 07:52 AM

Oh 2FRU it sounds like you are really having a trying day. Bummer. Well enjoy the cardio. Get that finger back in order so we can continue to read your prewedding updates.

Speaking of which, good luck with the shoe hunt. It's just one of those things...

nelie 10-24-2006 09:22 AM

Good luck frus! I hope your finger heals well. I had my shoe crisis a couple months ago because it is so hard to find off white shoes in my size and I didn't want to buy white shoes then try to dye them. I finally found a pair that were simple and they won't be seen much anyway for 30 dollars. I think they were the 3rd pair I had ordered.

DF and I decided that we won't be doing any speeches during the ceremony. We thought about doing something corny like "statements of love" but I know I'm going to be crying already. I think if I tried to talk about something personal during the ceremony that it would turn into a total crying fest.

I got a flu shot yesterday and I wasn't feeling so well last night. This morning, the alarm went off but I almost slept through it. Poor DF, he was tired too so he was probably thinking why don't I put the alarm off when he is trying to sleep. Anyway, I didn't get up to exercise this morning but I do have physical therapy today so we'll see what type of exercises I'll do then. I may also exercise after work.

BfL_Cat 10-24-2006 09:47 AM

Good morning gals! I had some excellent cardio this morning, so am riding that endorphin high!

The scale inched down a bit again, so I was pleased to see that. I have really got to get a new scale - this one never reads the same number twice, so I have to either always just go with the first measurement, and just look at the trend... Anyone have one they really like? I'm convinced that I'm one of those people who needs to weigh daily, or every other day, just to keep me on track - otherwise it's easy for denial to set in, and before you know it, you've gained!

2frus - sorry you're having last minute shoe stress. But, shoe stress is better than other stress! ;) And sorry about your finger - hope it's better soon!

Mel - that's just crazy! Good for you for being able to get up on them - I don't think I ever could!

Pat - hope your cold is better soon - I've been fighting off the one DF had for the past 2 weeks - felt iffy yesterday, but luckily better today.

Have a great day everyone!
Cindy

Chest, Shoulders, Triceps & Abs

I was able to increase the weight on the bench press from 20lb dumbbells to 25lbs:carrot: . My chest was burning by rep 12 but I finished all 3 sets.

On the incline press I am still stuck at 20lbs.

Dang Girl! 25 is impressive in my book. :faint:

I'm doing 20lbs and have been for months. Reps are higher, I'm doing 15 to 20. I know, I know, it's time for me to move up too. I do know better. I just feel so comfy with my form at 20lbs now I really dread moving up. hmmmm. Maybe I should at least start even if I can only crank out five to six of them.

shananigans 10-24-2006 05:30 PM

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Moving mode is in full swing, it’s actually happening!

2Fru- You must be giddy with anticipation! Hope your finger and shoes get sorted out ASAP.

Bfl_Cat – I am with you on the daily weigh-in, denial had me in its grips there for a while. During my injury sabbatical/reveling in all things Wisconsin (= beer + cheese) I gained about 5 to 6 lbs in just over a month. My first major backslide. I am back on track now but only really saw the scale spike in the last couple weeks since I’ve been back on track at the gym. Just like it takes a while for losses to show up on the scale gains are probably slow to show up too. I know if I keep it up it will swing back the way it’s supposed to go.

Pat – Feel better.

Mel – I grew up in northern WI and went to college in Madison, so I know full well what I’m getting myself into. I won’t lie, I will miss the ocean and mild climate, but I love Madison so I will just suck it up and deal. Also, Good to know that my aversion to barbells is not unfounded! I much prefer the dumbbells for just about everything. That stability ball trick it super cool. Maybe someday I'll try that. Right now it’s all I can do to keep my feet from rolling off the ball when I try to do push-ups with my toes on the ball.

Meg – Thank you so much for all that shoulder info! I’m pretty sure my injury is just inflammation and not a tear, but it’s good to know I should skip the upright rows and a better way to do raises. I’ll be sure to envision holding beer cans when I do them in the future. I think I’ll give those check presses a try when I lift tonight. I’ve been doing the “Arnold press” http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/...noldPress.html and I like that one but am always interested in switching things up a bit. Probably good for your coordination to do that.

I never knew you could sustain such serious shoudler injuries from overtraining. Not like I’ve been in danger of that recently  but something I’ll definitely keep in mind for the future. Y’all are tough gals to come back from that and keep on training.

After 5 weeks of no upper body lifting (felt like an eternity) I finally got back to business last week and had two very good sessions. I was a little worried about the shoulder but it seems like the more I move and work it the better it’s feeling, and I’m definitely feeling better being back in routine. I had a really interesting shoulder workout last Saturday, I went trapezeing! (that is probably not a word, but it should be) A good friend of mine has been studying trapeze and aerial tissue for about the last year or so and the place she goes to was having an open house where anyone who wanted to could sign their life away and give it a try. It was not as difficult as I thought it might be, pretty fun actually. Add it to your list of things to try before you die if you have one. I figure if I could do that and my shoulder didn’t feel any worse than before I must be well on the road to recovery.

I’m on week 5 of c25k, which is a little different from the first 4 weeks because there are different intervals for each of the 3 runs, the last one being a 20 minute straight run with no walking! Seems a bit quick to get rid of the walking breaks but I’ll be interested to see if I can do it.

WaterRat 10-24-2006 09:42 PM

Oh, interesting on week 5. I'm repeating week 2 right now or rather finishing the recommended 3 sessions since I didn't have it with me at my conference. Though the way my head is stuffed up, my heart really isn't into moving with much enthusiasm! But anything is better than nothing.

A trapeze sounds fun! We had one on a playground quality swing set when I was a kid. Not quite the same but we got quite inventive with it! I'm looking forward to the ziplines they have in the rain forest when we go to Costa Rica!

How soon are you moving Shan?

Frus - good luck with the shoes! Is your dress long enough you could go barefoot? That wouldn't catch on the lace.

2frustrated 10-25-2006 03:54 AM

Don't tempt me! I will be walking barefoot if all else fails! I've got 3 pairs of shoes coming in the post and I foudn another 4 pairs that I want to order, but 2 are just too expensive. I think it's the wrong season for ordering ivory shoes! All the bridal shoes are over £100 and POINTY! GAH! I hate pointy shoes, they're just so cliched. ALL bridal shoes are pointy, I haven't found any that aren't!

Did I say about my hen night? It's on Saturday and we are going to Go Ape www.goape.co.uk which is an aerial assault course thingy with zip slides and things :hyper:

My finger's feeling slightly better - I might be able to grasp a dumbbell for bent over rows :D I might even be able to do a lat pulldown or two :crossed:

susanje 10-25-2006 09:13 AM

All bridal shoes are pointy? What about dress sandals? Even in the fall/winter they should be okay... :)

I am doing the mother of the groom thing in September. can't wait!!! I think that etiquette dictates I wait to find out what the mother(s) of the bride will be wearing (she has her mom and is very close to her step mom) but they told me to wear what I want. I want to wear black but it's a late summer afternoon wedding and maybe not so much. I don't do colors so this should be interesting.

I'm walking my son down the aisle, or rather he is walking me to my seat before going up on the platform right before the bride comes down the aisel with her dad...so I'm rather excited about that except I will break down and cry. This is my baby and the one I'm the closest too...I cry just thinking about it. I should wear sensible shoes for my hysterical moment lest I fall down and make a scene.

Ah weddings...such fun...I'm just glad I'm not the mother of the bride (they are having the wedding at their house).

As for me and exercise, I am back in a groove but am really busy at work so I haven't posted much. I am doing the gym...cardio and weights 4 days a week and Pilates two days a week (one private session and one class). It's working for me so far. :cb: I love love love Pilates.

As soon as work gets slower, I will be back on a regular basis...

2frustrated 10-25-2006 09:21 AM

Yeah I'm looking at dress sandals/shoes but most are black or winter colours now. I have managed to find a few pairs of ivory shoes that might go well - one even has lace a bit like the dress but I'm not keen on the style, hopefully it'll look better on my foot than it does on the web page!

nelie 10-25-2006 09:27 AM

Frus - that Go ape place looks fun but scary :) DF and I have been trying to think of where we want to go next year for an official honeymoon trip or just a trip we'll call our honeymoon trip :) I found a hiking tour of Costa Rica that includes 1.5 miles of tree top bridges. I know it doesn't sound like much but I'm scared of heights and I'm scared of bridges. I've actually become a lot better with bridges in the past couple years but I'm not sure how well I'd do with these :) I am excited at the prospect.

Shan - I hope the move and everything is going well.

Yesterday, I found out that my left knee has mild osteoarthritis. The doctor called me after looking at my xrays. DF didn't help by asking if that was the same type of arthritis that old people get. I made an appointment with the doctor for next week so I'll talk to him then but I am bummed about having a condition that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

I also went to my physical therapy session yesterday. It went pretty well but I really didn't like when they tried to test my knee pain and also when they massaged my muscles around my knee, it was very uncomfortable. I was also given a set of exercises to do which I did this morning. I thought it'd take me 15 minutes or so to do the exercises but it ended up taking me 40 minutes. There were quite a few exercises which were "do this and hold for 10 seconds". I could do the exercise fine but holding for 10 seconds, I could feel my muscles failing. I am supposed to do those exercises twice per day but I think I'm going to try to break them up so I don't do all the exercises at once. I know some of them I can do at work and some while i'm doing stuff at home. I go again on Friday and I'll be doing actual exercise at the physical therapy office.

Sugar Cube 10-25-2006 10:53 AM

I think I have caught up...

Good morning all, getting it all together here. Pants-O-Meter is doing well, the jeans are getting looser and the gut is shrinking. Hoping for a good WI on Friday.

Great cardio though short this morning, only a half hour and then some free weights while balancing on a Bosu balance ball. Very cool and not meaning to brag too much, I did better than I thought I would. I didn't crash and only wobbled a little. It does a great job on holding my core engaged while lifting.

So far the Halloween candy has not been calling me, I think it is because I have been able to kick a lot of the carbs out of my diet and keep the whole grains and oats in. I am getting addicted to oats, possible??

NELIE - Spread the work around for the wedding, after all you don't want to run yourself into the ground. thanks for reminding me about the flu shots, mine is 11/1. I decided for my wedding, we were paying a professional (my minister since I was 5) to perform the ceremony, I didn't need or want an amatuer (me) mucking it up. LOL. Your knee may be life long condition but you can work around it, strong thighs will make the knee function better and a smaller you will take off the pressure. You are definately not "old".

Not at all sure about the smilie lunge, I will have to concentrate on it tomorrow a.m. while I am lunging.

LYDIA - Sounds like a fab weekend, I cannot resist beer on tap, especially all the fall ones out there now. And brats well, I mean only one, as long as you don't end up on the road to ruin as they say in the Glennfiddich ads (shows where I spend my Free Days). Keep resting as much as possible or you will miss all the sledding this winter, not looking forward to snow myself.

MEL - I could balance on one ball for a while I guess but not two at the same time. Call me suitably impressed.

2FRU - Sounds like the last minute wedding frenzy. You will be fine on the shoes, I bought mine two days before using an ad my mom saw in the paper. I did spend a lot on them, bought Kenneth Cole's wedding shoes, nothing to catch on anything, kept them on my feet from 9 am to 10 pm and was fine. As long as the busted finger isn't the ring hand, good luck. I hope you have fun at your hen party and please please be careful, banged up brides are not attractive.

ROCKER - How cool to be doing 3 sets of 12 reps AND increasing the lbs, way to go.

DH is feeling good today, he has a headhunter tracking him, even if he doesn't go for the job, it feels good to be wanted, though I tell him all the time, I want him.

SUSAN - How about grey for the mother of the groom??

Short day, DD has early release and I am using some time to take her to lunch and do whatever she wants. My sister cancelled coming with us at the last minute and that has upset DD so I am hoping she can overcome the disappointment that it is only mom. The sun is shining so when we get home we may hit the bike trail.

Lydia227 10-25-2006 10:55 AM

Nelie: Sorry to hear you have osteoarthritis in your knee. Bummer.

I hear you with regard to the knee massages. I had a deep muscle massage done on my hips several weeks ago by my physical therapist. Yow! The PAIN. WAS. INTENSE. :club:

I knew it was going to be bad when she pulled the curtain around the table before she began massage. :o Afterwards she applied a bag of chipped ice to both of my hips. So there I am, lying on the table holding these two bags of ice on each hip and muttering that this has to be the STUPIDIST thing I have ever done to myself....

Fortunately or not physical therapy has been put on hold for a while. I received a followup call from my sports doc who advised me to start using the crutches for the next two week. If this doesn't work then he will do a ct scan to see if there has been any healing at all. Man, will the fun never end?... :stars:

Mel: Weather report from Columbus.... Beautiful cloudless sky blue day. Your DD should be pleased. :sunny:

Liza: Congratulations with the Pant-O-Meter. I have one of those too. Its a black pair of dress slacks that I wore just three weeks ago. I just hoping to continue to wear them through the winter. Thanks for reminding me about winter sledding. Nope, don't want to miss that! We live close to the river with awesome sledding banks.

Have a great bike ride with DD this afternoon.

Airegrrrl 10-25-2006 12:07 PM

Hi ho,

Just time for a drive by post this morning, but I want to stay in the groove, and I don't post, I don't groove. Had a great workout Monday -- weights and cardio -- and an equally great water aerobics class yesterday. Woke up this morning intending to hit the gym, but was really really tired, so, presto: today is a rest day. :p Eating is clean; life is good. Hugs all around ...

WaterRat 10-25-2006 05:27 PM

Blech is how I feel :faint: STILL!!! I'm sick of this nasty cold, feeling rundown, yada yada.

 Poor Pat.

I think I've cured myself of my gingerbread men addiction! Try baking hundreds of the :censored: things!!!!! My kitchen looks like it's been taken over by sweet little munchkins all holding hands!

Oh and I whupped *** at the gym last night - I'm nicely sore and my muscles are pumped!

nelie 10-26-2006 09:21 AM

Pat - I hope you feel better.

Frus - I've never even had a gingerbread man before but those look cute.

Today, I woke up at 6am which is the earliest I've woken up so far to exercise. I'm hoping to eventually get up at 5:30am which would mean I could go to the gym. I did one of my longer Firm workouts which was pretty good. I also did a cardio DVD last night before bed.

2frustrated 10-26-2006 09:29 AM

OMG I just had the worst morning of wedding stress so far!

I got the sample photos from the wedding photographer and they are rubbish! So we didn't want to hire him. So I had to find someone else! I managed to find someone who, although not a wedding photographer, can at least take good photos and doesn't charge since he is a student, but we will pay him anyway!

I was having a slight stress printing out the wedding menus - the printer won't push them all the way through, so I am going to have to give them to my bridesmaid to print.

Then I got a cancellation for Go Ape, but I have managed to fill the vacancy! Hooray!

Things are getting freaky!

Oh and to top it all - I have a load of ebay stuff that sold today so that's all got to go in the post!!!!

sportmom 10-26-2006 10:35 AM

Thanks to Meg and Mel for the suggestions about doing our shoulder work (lateral front and side raises) as if we were holding a soda can with thumbs up instead of palms facing the ground. I did my shoulder workout and the pain didn't return, and I def. felt less muscle strain when I rotated my wrist on the moves. Yea Yea Yea! You ladies are awesome!

Airegrrrl 10-26-2006 11:35 AM

Frus: Look me in the eye. Now breathe, woman. And Nellie, if you feel a bout of panic coming on, do the same. Nice, slooooooooooooooow soothing breathes.

Now, doesn't that feel better.

Pat, I hope you get to feeling better pronto. The crud is sweeping through campus here, and I absolutely refuse to get sick again. I've already had one bout this fall, which is very unusual for me, and I'd just as soon not get any more. So, I'm sending warm healing vibes your way.

It's dramp, drizzly and dreary here today. Methinks winter is coming. Take care all.

2frustrated 10-26-2006 11:49 AM

:D I'm ok now! I sorted it all out!

I was having a mild panic, but knew it'd sort out in the end! I just have to tell the poor photographer dude that his pictures are rubbish! :o

WaterRat 10-26-2006 01:10 PM

Well, I'm at work, and not appreciably feeling worse! thanks for the good thoughts, and the virtual soup (very tasty  ) I ended up sleeping on the couch last night as I couldn't get warm in the bedroom and I was very restless. No reason both of us had to be awake. Also on the couch I could sleep reclined so my sinuses drained. Of course, both cats had to come with me - couldn't stay on the queen sized bed. At least they provided some heat.

Frus - all will be well on the day. Like Robin says, breathe! Love your gingerbread people. They'll be very cute favors.

I need to get back to exercising. I haven't since Monday. The hotel we're staying in next week (in Houston, TX) has a workout room, so I'm taking my stuff. The show we're going to (International Quilt Festival) doesn't start til 10 each day, so I shouldn't even have to get too early, and of course, we'll be doing lots of walking. And I just read it's predicted to be in the high 70's/low 80's! It snowed here last night! I need to rethink what clothes I'm taking.

Lydia227 10-26-2006 01:37 PM

PAT: Glad to hear your starting to feel a little better. Sleeping with the cats usually does the trick for me too. Our pets just seem to know who is in need of their "therapy". It sounds like you'll have a great time in Houston next week. I love to exercise "on the road" too. Enjoy that weather!

2FRU: Our photographer was not what we thought he would be. Our wedding photos are just barely okay. The best photos were taken by our friends. They had nice cameras and knew who and what was important to photograph. Don't worry though, things will fall into place. The most important thing at the end of the day is that you walk away married to your best friend. I'm sure you already know that.;)

Oh yeah, and the gingerbread couple are very cute. I bake or used to a lot. You get extra "points" for getting those two cookies to come off the tray still holding hands without breaking.

nelie 10-26-2006 02:26 PM

I would be so mad if the wedding photographer photos didn't come out right! The chapel where our wedding is being held is owned by the photographer so I hope they know how to take photos there!

I know all about breathing under stress and the list of things to do is quickly coming to a close so I need to boogie!

RockerGirl 10-26-2006 02:46 PM

Hi everyone!

Today was back, biceps, legs, and calves.

It sounds like we have our own version of "Buff Brides" going on in the LWL thread.

I got married while in the Army by a judge in Savannah, GA with two witnessess, and don't remember their names :( So I really don't have much advice to offer, but I will wish you all the best of luck.

Buff brides indeed!

My sister’s photographer was pretty good. He was very personable and got to know everyone in the wedding party a little.

We are going to start driving on Nov. 5 and should get to Madison on Nov. 8. This is our dog’s first long car trip and first time in a cold environment. I just hope he doesn’t hold it against us for the rest of his life.

I also found my shoulders like the front and side raises with thumbs up better, thanks for the tip!

Another UB lifting session planned for tonight. My next c25k run eliminates the walking breaks, 20 straight minutes of jogging, hope I survive.

Got to spend the morning outside at a city employee charity fair, lots of warm sunshine. If I didn’t have to come back to the office I would have gone to the beach to soak up some rays while I still can.

Shan - I remember thinking that I couldn't jog for 20 minutes straight, but you CAN! It's amazing! It's what the program has been training you for! You can do it!

All is almost sorted methinks - it's my Hen day tomorrow :D :D :D :D :D :hyper: I just have a few gingerbread men to wrap, a few more to bake, some shoes to buy, a button to sew on, a CD to burn and er... that's it! :D I'm delegating some tasks to one of my Bridesmaid's who lives near!

Have fun Fru- I think you've got all the details nailed down now. Don't sweat the small stuff or kill yourself in the next few days kickboxing! Although it would be a good story in years to come, hobbling to your wedding wouldn't be fun :o Be careful out there!

Shan- glad you are back at it and your shoulder is better.

Pat- how are you feeling?

Lydia- Sorry about your leg. How long has this been going on? Good fo you for keeping up the upper body workouts.

nelie- You sound so much calmer this week! Wanna came rake leaves with me on the weekend for exercise?

Hi Robin, Liza, Fran, Softballmom, and all of you who haven't posted in ages!

Back and cardio for me today and lots of clients. Fall is always really busy until people start canceling the week before Thanskgiving :(

My shoulders ... probably traps, rhomboids and scapula thingees ... feel sooo awesome this morning. If just once I could have lats and abs that feel like this .... I'd just know my body fat percentages were dwindling down.

Mel - I have wedding things to do!! Actually, we need to prepare our second bedroom for my parents so we are hoping to do that this weekend. I don't think we'll be doing any hiking as it is expected to rain.

This morning, I went to my physical therapy session. I did various leg exercises and the physical therapist put me on the bike for 10 minutes. She then asked me if I was tired and was surprised when I told her no :)

I'm kind of bummed that I'm at the same weight I was 3 weeks ago. I know it is because of some major stress eating and some days of poor planning. For some reason lately, I've been wanting to eat soup so I had a couple weeks where I ate soup for lunch nearly every day along with a number of crackers. I'm not talking chicken noodle either, I'm talking about clam chowder, corn chowder, potato soup and any other "creamy" soups. Lots of salt and excess fat and carbs. Anyway, I knew it wasn't the best eating I was doing but I couldn't stop myself. I knew it was because my committment was waivering.

I also know it is because I am hungrier lately and I wasn't doing the best planning. For a while, I was doing liquid shakes throughout the day as my meals/mini meals but those weren't cutting it for some reason lately. So I'd have a shake then I'd be hungry within an hour. I've been packing myself a real lunch lately and that is helping.

My exercise has been awesome lately though :) I'm getting in regular exercise and a variety of exercise. I still haven't made it back to the gym yet but that is coming. I think I may switch to the gym after the wedding although I am currently enjoying my workout DVDs at home and doing my weights at home.
