:D I'm ok now! I sorted it all out!

I was having a mild panic, but knew it'd sort out in the end! I just have to tell the poor photographer dude that his pictures are rubbish! :o

WaterRat 10-26-2006 01:10 PM

Well, I'm at work, and not appreciably feeling worse! thanks for the good thoughts, and the virtual soup (very tasty  ) I ended up sleeping on the couch last night as I couldn't get warm in the bedroom and I was very restless. No reason both of us had to be awake. Also on the couch I could sleep reclined so my sinuses drained. Of course, both cats had to come with me - couldn't stay on the queen sized bed. At least they provided some heat.

Frus - all will be well on the day. Like Robin says, breathe! Love your gingerbread people. They'll be very cute favors.

I need to get back to exercising. I haven't since Monday. The hotel we're staying in next week (in Houston, TX) has a workout room, so I'm taking my stuff. The show we're going to (International Quilt Festival) doesn't start til 10 each day, so I shouldn't even have to get too early, and of course, we'll be doing lots of walking. And I just read it's predicted to be in the high 70's/low 80's! It snowed here last night! I need to rethink what clothes I'm taking.

Lydia227 10-26-2006 01:37 PM

PAT: Glad to hear your starting to feel a little better. Sleeping with the cats usually does the trick for me too. Our pets just seem to know who is in need of their "therapy". It sounds like you'll have a great time in Houston next week. I love to exercise "on the road" too. Enjoy that weather!

2FRU: Our photographer was not what we thought he would be. Our wedding photos are just barely okay. The best photos were taken by our friends. They had nice cameras and knew who and what was important to photograph. Don't worry though, things will fall into place. The most important thing at the end of the day is that you walk away married to your best friend. I'm sure you already know that.;)

Oh yeah, and the gingerbread couple are very cute. I bake or used to a lot. You get extra "points" for getting those two cookies to come off the tray still holding hands without breaking.

nelie 10-26-2006 02:26 PM

I would be so mad if the wedding photographer photos didn't come out right! The chapel where our wedding is being held is owned by the photographer so I hope they know how to take photos there!

I know all about breathing under stress and the list of things to do is quickly coming to a close so I need to boogie!

RockerGirl 10-26-2006 02:46 PM

Hi everyone!

Today was back, biceps, legs, and calves.

It sounds like we have our own version of "Buff Brides" going on in the LWL thread.

I got married while in the Army by a judge in Savannah, GA with two witnessess, and don't remember their names :( So I really don't have much advice to offer, but I will wish you all the best of luck.

shananigans 10-26-2006 06:25 PM

Buff brides indeed!

My sister’s photographer was pretty good. He was very personable and got to know everyone in the wedding party a little.

We are going to start driving on Nov. 5 and should get to Madison on Nov. 8. This is our dog’s first long car trip and first time in a cold environment. I just hope he doesn’t hold it against us for the rest of his life.

I also found my shoulders like the front and side raises with thumbs up better, thanks for the tip!

Another UB lifting session planned for tonight. My next c25k run eliminates the walking breaks, 20 straight minutes of jogging, hope I survive.

Got to spend the morning outside at a city employee charity fair, lots of warm sunshine. If I didn’t have to come back to the office I would have gone to the beach to soak up some rays while I still can.

2frustrated 10-27-2006 03:49 AM

Shan - I remember thinking that I couldn't jog for 20 minutes straight, but you CAN! It's amazing! It's what the program has been training you for! You can do it!

All is almost sorted methinks - it's my Hen day tomorrow :D :D :D :D :D :hyper: I just have a few gingerbread men to wrap, a few more to bake, some shoes to buy, a button to sew on, a CD to burn and er... that's it! :D I'm delegating some tasks to one of my Bridesmaid's who lives near!

Mel 10-27-2006 07:11 AM

Have fun Fru- I think you've got all the details nailed down now. Don't sweat the small stuff or kill yourself in the next few days kickboxing! Although it would be a good story in years to come, hobbling to your wedding wouldn't be fun :o Be careful out there!

Shan- glad you are back at it and your shoulder is better.

Pat- how are you feeling?

Lydia- Sorry about your leg. How long has this been going on? Good fo you for keeping up the upper body workouts.

nelie- You sound so much calmer this week! Wanna came rake leaves with me on the weekend for exercise?

Hi Robin, Liza, Fran, Softballmom, and all of you who haven't posted in ages!

Back and cardio for me today and lots of clients. Fall is always really busy until people start canceling the week before Thanskgiving :(

My shoulders ... probably traps, rhomboids and scapula thingees ... feel sooo awesome this morning. If just once I could have lats and abs that feel like this .... I'd just know my body fat percentages were dwindling down.

nelie 10-27-2006 11:00 AM

Mel - I have wedding things to do!! Actually, we need to prepare our second bedroom for my parents so we are hoping to do that this weekend. I don't think we'll be doing any hiking as it is expected to rain.

This morning, I went to my physical therapy session. I did various leg exercises and the physical therapist put me on the bike for 10 minutes. She then asked me if I was tired and was surprised when I told her no :)

I'm kind of bummed that I'm at the same weight I was 3 weeks ago. I know it is because of some major stress eating and some days of poor planning. For some reason lately, I've been wanting to eat soup so I had a couple weeks where I ate soup for lunch nearly every day along with a number of crackers. I'm not talking chicken noodle either, I'm talking about clam chowder, corn chowder, potato soup and any other "creamy" soups. Lots of salt and excess fat and carbs. Anyway, I knew it wasn't the best eating I was doing but I couldn't stop myself. I knew it was because my committment was waivering.

I also know it is because I am hungrier lately and I wasn't doing the best planning. For a while, I was doing liquid shakes throughout the day as my meals/mini meals but those weren't cutting it for some reason lately. So I'd have a shake then I'd be hungry within an hour. I've been packing myself a real lunch lately and that is helping.

My exercise has been awesome lately though :) I'm getting in regular exercise and a variety of exercise. I still haven't made it back to the gym yet but that is coming. I think I may switch to the gym after the wedding although I am currently enjoying my workout DVDs at home and doing my weights at home.

Lydia227 10-27-2006 12:08 PM

Mel: I injured the femeral neck in March. It wasn't diagnosised until July. I have been allowed to cycle and lift upper body up until this week. Something has happened to the injury that makes it ache more now than it did this summer. Maybe it's the weather, I don't know. Maybe it was caused by my three year old who pulled my leg off to the side during a tantrum...probably. Anyway, this week the pain was about a 7 to an 8 and I've been wigging out. :?:

This is day four on the crutches and fortunately, it no longer hurts when I am just sitting on the couch. I think this is a good sign. I have another week and half to go so I am optimistic.

I have a countdown on my kitchen whiteboard till the number of days till my next run. (I read somewhere that it takes 90 days for one of these injuries to heal..) I'm down to the last 20 days and the prospect doesn't look good. But at this point, I really am focusing more on just staying down and off of the leg and not worring so much as to when I can get back out there! But darn, I really miss those lower body squats and lunges. One fine day...

I actually thought about heading over to the gym and having the staff set up my free weights for me but thought better of that. The crutches are just plain embarressing and I would look like a moron. :o Fortunately I do have 20 and 15lb dumbells at home and a aerobic step I can use as a bench. I can continue to do a modified version of my upper body workout. But I gotta tell ya, after running around on these crutches all day, I think I'm already getting a good shoulder and lat workout.

Anyhoo, I'm okay with this now. It's a learning experience. Lesson number one, it takes just as much discipline to stay out of the gym once you get bit by the bug as it does to go to the gym on a regular basis as a newbie. ;)

Oh and by the way, I'm going to remember that people start dropping their trainers just before the holidays. Sounds like a good time for me to hire one! I will definetly be working with one when I return from this injury. It's obvious to me now that I have a little problem with moderation and setting safe limits during my workouts...:p

Size 16 fits again!

I am so happy to be wearing my size 16s. I grew out of them while in Scotland and am happy to say I am quite comfortable in them.

I am off to the pub for a pint this afternoon, just one pint too. I won't be staying longer, need to meet the school bus at the other end of the subway, so convenient.

LOVE the gingerbread people, we make them every year for Christmas. Have you ever tried to paint them with the egg yolk colors? Add a drop or two of color to get the color you want and a T of water, then bake as usual.

NELLIE - Sounds like your a.m. exercise routine is working out for you. Pretty soon you will be opening the gym.

I did get up and do a whole stretching routine before the gym this morning, and then used the stair climber versus the stairmaster. It is a different workout. And then some more cardio and a real solid ab workout. If my gut were smaller it would be easier.

2FRU - we hired a photography professor from the local university, we paid him a flat fee and paid for the film and developing and own our photos. I also got so many beautiful photos from friends - never knew we had so many talented friends. DELEGATE DELEGATE DELEGATE is my word of advice.

Crazy morning around here, planning to do some Halloween costume sewing this afternoon and then going off with knitting pals to buy yarn, terrible weather forecast for tomorrow and I am driving the van. Believe me if anyone even makes a sound about sitting in my living room and knitting all day and ordering take out, i am so with that plan.

Oh oh oh down another two.

WaterRat 10-27-2006 02:35 PM

 I'm here, still feeling crummy. Did get some decent sleep last night, which helped. I got some stronger cold drugs yesterday, so I'm at least "drying up"

Did a great lbwo this morning and increased my weights on all my squats, plies and calf raises. Yea!! Looking forward to an ubwo tonite, where I think I will also increase my back weights, possibly triceps as well.

it's all good!

Ladies, ladies, ladies! I saw a body!
Every year my DH buys tickets from our local Alzheimer Society to a tribute show featuring the Legends of Rock and Roll and Country Music. One gal in the troop, Jessica Moya Brown, was amazing. Her back was to die for! Her arms were audacious and her bubble butt was awe-inspiring! And she could sing!
She's won dancing awards here in Canada. I did a quick google but don't have the patience tonight. I'll look better tomorrow.
I am sooo inspired!
