Under Arm Flab

:D

Does anyone know of a good excercise to get rid of / or tone the underarm muscles to help with flab?

Cardio and Calanetics. Theres one exersize called the underarm tightener and
it really works. I'm doing it plus 20-45 minutes of cardio to melt the fat.

Is this a program you purchase and is that the name of it? I look like a flying squirrel now that I've lost 73 lbs. so was wondering about the same topic :)

oh my goodness, you're cracking me up. So what is the underarm tightener?

The trainer I worked out with had be laying flat on my back on a Physical Therapy table and holding the weight out behind my head then lower towards the floor then back up....15 reps with a 5 pound weight the 10 with a 3 and then 10 with a 2. I lost 2 inches in my arm....I found them after I started working from hom and couldn't afford a trainer, but I got a home set up weights and I am doing the same again.

He also had me sit on the floor legs out in front of me. Then put my hands flat on the floor on either side of me and push my self up off the floor...your body weight is the reistance and that's the only muscle you are using.

:lol3: :lol3: :lol3: A flying squirrel! That's too funny!

Right now, my underarm flab is the only part of my body that really troubles me. I've seen some improvement, but it's very slow.

Alextucker, thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to start doing that exercise where you lie on your back. I do the other exercise you mentioned, but using my stability ball. I sit on the floor and put my feet on the ball with my hands to each side and slightly behind me and lift my body that way to work the triceps.

Any good pressing exercise should help. Military press, bench etc.

Swimming, yoga and pilates are all good for over all fitness and will help with muscle conditioning and toning, in partnership with weight training. I had awful arms, and now they are my best feature, I started out swimming then started adding weight training and pilates and yoga as I got more confident. You can't spot reduce areas of fat, only reducing calorie input/increasing calorie expenditure will do that.

Here are a few good exercises. The most important is your diet to get rid of the fat. Once the fat is gone then the skin may not ever go back to normal this depends on age, genetics and how long you were overweight...

And last but not least Dips!

Too bad about not being able to spot reduce because I would definately like that. I call them "Oprah arms" ha ha. No offence Oprah.

Thanks everyone for all the help even though it wasn't my post asking. I'm sure the original poster appreciated it also.
I do indeed look like a flying squirrel and am pretty sure the skin won't ever tighten up completely as I have been overweight almost all my life.
Thanks for all the help.

Hi

Just to add, I do the ones that Ilene listed and my trainer just added modified (on your knees) push-ups. I do 2 sets of 12. He said, with that and the continued weight loss we're "reshaping" my arms. I just loved the sound of that! :)

Good Luck!
