Default LWL # 251 April 17 - 23

Good Morning LWL

Cardio done- I'm off to a late start. No clients today, but I'm headed for the gym for a chest workout, then hours and hours of housework and cooking.

Ate clean this weekend. I'm happy to report that no bunnies were maimed.

Just a few little pieces of chocolate for me.
It's a beautiful day here. I got off work early so I sat my lily white self out on the deck for a few minutes.
Now, I've got a few extra's I can attend to ... a window to paint, back and biceps and a bicycle that's calling me.

No gym for me yesterday, I was on my way to the airport to pick up my sweetie during the time I usually go to yoga. But it’s so nice to have him home and we did go for a couple of nice walks with the dogs and had fun watching the kids in the neighborhood on their Easter egg hunts. There’s a 6pm yoga class this evening with an instructor I haven’t worked with yet so I may bump my arms/chest lifting to tomorrow if I can get to the gym in time for class.

No BOSU on the schedule, there is something called “stability ball” but it’s during the day when I’m at work so I have no idea what that’s about.

I’m munching on some leftover vegan blueberry pancakes I made yesterday, so delicious and very low in fat too.

Hope everyone’s week is off to a great start!

Hi LWL,

Yesterday (Easter) was another hike for me. This time 4.5 miles or so near the Potomac river. It was quite crowded but the trail we went on is usually really crowded. Lots of rock scrambles and parts where you had to walk completely on boulders. There was even one kind of scary part where you walk on a rock face over the river. My legs and arms are sore today due to the hike. I did like it quite a bit but it was a bit too crowded for me. The entire hike took 4 hours as over 3 miles of the hike was very slow due to the rocks and climbing. Overall, a very fun easter.

Hey gang -- Easter food was good and clean at the beginning of the day but not at the end, I suffered with hot flashes all night because of the sugar I think... I did get out for a run in the morning on EAster, 10k, and today I did legs in the morning, Food is perfect today...

Hello all!

Eating? Clean? Who me? Damn cornwall and 6 hour train journeys and screaming kids and ice cream and clotted cream *sigh*. BUT I had the greatest workout with the future-in-laws I had a guest pass at their gym and did a full body weights workout and some treadmill hill climbing and some eliptical sweating to the oldies!

I'm at the gym today - maybe twice, and kickboxing. Hurrah! I love my gym! I'm going to go to Yoga on Friday too! WAHEY! It might cancel out all that cream I ate, and chocolate

I did back and biceps yesterday. Very nice!

I think my poor husband thinks I'm losin' it. Ya know when you slump in a chair, there's a bit of a flair behind you. Sort of from your tail bone out to the sides? I was examining it, sitting in bed watching TV. I asked him if he thought it was fat. With that bewildered look he said he thought so. Then he looked quite relieved when I agreed, settled back and said I'd have to do something about that

Ooooh I ran to the gym and back - I did a quick chest and bis and I had my first encounter with a bench press rack! I haven't tried the safety rack yet, some dude was hogging it I will check it out another time!

No chocolate for me - but thats easy because its not a favourite of mine -I'm just glad there isn't a festival when we eat a lot of cheese (my high fat food of choice.)

I did a lower body work out this morning followed by 20 minutes abs - and then I went for my normal 2 hour walk with my dogs (about 8 miles) - and I feel like a nap now. This getting/keeping fit thing is totally exhausting!

My husband had to work the whole Easter weekend so we just ate our normal food and he bought me flowers and strawberries instead of chocolate. So thoughtfull

I love love love love love love chocolate I usually buy a dark chocolate bar when I'm at trader joes and split it with the BF during the week. I did have a small piece of chocolate on easter.

Yesterday, I had an "episode" but I'm not quite sure what to call it. I hadn't eaten in a few hours (6 ?) and I started getting dizzy and felt like I was going to pass out. I then ate dinner and I was fine. It was a similar experience to what I used to have when I didn't eat before I would exercise. This is the first time that it has happened though without exercise being a factor. I think the fact that I didn't sleep well the night before and I had over caffeinated myself might've played a part. Overall I know it is PCOS messing with me.

Tonight is hopefully an exercise night. I'm still sore from my hike but I should be good enough to exercise.

Is faintness a symptom of PCOS??? I get that all the time! If I don't eat for more than 3 hours (I've counted - it's on the nose!) I get all dizzy/faint and feel like I can't go on until I eat something...

It sounds a lot like a hypo glycemic episode to me. I used to get them. Its when your blood sugar goes VERY low - you get a rushing noise in the ears, feel dizzy, feel disoriented, feel faint, maybe a bit nauseous and maybe get the shakes - often accompanied by an almost unbearable craving for something very sweet.

If this sounds the same it is because of the long gap since your last meal and possibly that your last meal consisted of items fairly high on the glycemic index. Eating every 2 to 3 hours usually sorts it out.

I get weak from not eating every 3-4 hours too... Sometimes I get the shakes, sometimes not... I get it less now that I eat more whole foods, especially oatmeal, I love my oatmeal ... sometimes on the weekend I will have wheat toast instead of oatmeal and I get the shakes a few hours later when I'm nearing meal time, but I don't get the shakes if I eat my oatmeal...

Had a great back and bi workout, I did my bicep curls standing on an upside down Bosu ball, talk about keep your balance it was fun... I love the Bosu ball!!

I am now having a concoction coleslaw that I just invented ... I grated a medium carrot, a good chunk of cumcumber and a medium apple, added some s&p and a tbsp of raisins... very good, anything is good when your hungry, now I'll go have a bit of protein... and start washing windows ...
