Default LWL # 247 March 20 - 26

OK, I know it's really Sunday night still, but it's almost Monday for Fru

I'm off to Jamaica at 4 am tomorrow morning. My eticket says "checkin time: 4:55 am" 5:01 would have sounded less ominous. Hopefully everything is packed, including running shoes and workout clothes Gotta do something to counter that all inclusive non-stop food and drink vacation mentality. I don't want to return on the plane with my jeans unzipped again! that's how this all started 5 years ago

Have a wonderful week, LWL!

Mel it WAS Monday for me Have a lovely lovely time!

I found an *** kickin workout in this month's Health and Fitness. That's going to be my new weights routine. I'm also getting back on the running trail today. I'm shooting for 44 minutes, but if I die before then, then never mind!

Oh I passed my red belt test on Saturday! Hoooray! I've been told I'm going to spar on Thursday and I will be "put through my paces". I've taken the day off work to sleep beforehand!

An early post reminds us we're "supposed" to!
Have a wonderful trip Mel!
I'm off to work. I'm desk clerking which is pretty sedentary but it's legs day for me so I'll do that when I get home. I like legs even if I'm tired. Maybe if my head gets boggly looking at a computer screen all day, I'll do the stairs a few times.

Bye bye, Mel! You're probably there now!

I didn't post much last week as my new workout programme (supersets) was flooring me! I needed a LOT of sleep. I'm a bit better this week! It's a good programme. Admire my definition!

Today is a non-gymn day so I've done 40 mins of brisk walking. I'm going to try to increase the cardio on non-gymn days. I've got a little fat which is out of place. (Note: this is British understatement. It means that I am rather too fat for my own good. )

I've got some new gymn stuff (very cheap and pretty good running gear from Aldi in their recent running promotion) and it's great! Good motivation to lose a bit more of the avoirdupois.

As an aside, I went to get on the treadmill yesterday and some utter fool had left it running at quite a fast pace. I was flung across the room. Luckily, I've just got a few big bruises and some grazes. It could have been much worse. I bounced! I put that down to good muscles. Positive outcomes: I have met a few more gymn users close-to and they are lovely; the big weight-lifting guys were particularly kind; after a bit of a rest, I used the recumbent bike to warm up instead - my first time on it seriously - will probably use it again from time to time.

I'd better go. You know, things to do, money to earn, fish to fry, men to see about dogs.

Look before you leap, friends!

Love, Silverbirch

Owwie ouch! I hope the who left it on high gets well and truly battered by the BIG WEIGHTLIFTERS

Just back from a 44 minute run - building up "endurance" for a 10K in June. Feeling good!

Off to find lunch...

Hi LWL,

Just back from power class. For some reason or other life seemed rather hectic, but it became more quiet after the power lifting class. I really really need to de the meditation when I think I am too busy to do it. Skipped for 3 days...and chaos was in my head.

On the bright side, I painted part of my livingroom wall in a lime green color. I find it looks lovely, a reminder of spring in the air.
have a great day all,
rabbit

Hi everyone,

I went to the gym last night and did chest and triceps. I was still sore from my leg workout on sunday and actually I'm still sore. I did a warmup on the elliptical for 18 minutes and my legs didn't want to cooperate at first. I also did abs at the end.

Last night, I also decided to look for my measuring tape because of inconsistent scales. Oh boy that was kind of depressing. Actually it wasn't too bad but for some reason my up down up down of the last year or so has seemed to shift my weight to my tummy. Meaning measurements in other places are less than when I last measured about a year ago but my tummy is a couple inches more.

Anyway, I just have to keep plugging away the best I can. I also am on a new BCP that supposedly can induce weight gain. I have to battle that a little bit but I'm not really worried about it.

I hope everyone is doing well and I think I could use a warm sunny vacation right about now

I did legs yesterday so it's my turn for chest and triceps today!
I have a wee glitch in my left ankle (old stupid klutz injury ) so I felt like I was cheaping out a bit. Out of guilt or boredom, I just kept plugging away thru Criminal Minds and this morning I can tell. My butt hurts hoorah!

Good morning! It's a lovely spring day here. Still some snow on the tops though. I've arrived at work, sawn up a plank and chopped a couple of logs to get the fire started and I'm ready to go! All the work I do around the wood-burning stoves is so much easier with muscles: stacking, moving, chopping, sawing.

I'm still rather bruised from my treadmill adventure. I've got a colourful bottom lip!

As Ilene sometimes says, let's be careful out there!

Hello all!

I'm starting a new routine tonight - it's in this month's Health and Fitness magazine, it's about weight lifting on stability ball... And of course the "model" is using 2lbs dumbbells! Anyway, I will take a closer look and adapt it!

Kickboxing last night was good, I've had a gander at the green belt sheet and the things I have to do are a sinch! So hopefully I'll be getting a good mark for my next grading!

Yes, let's be careful out there .... <<<< was this you, silver? Awww, just kidding ... Where do you work silver, that you have to chop your wood for heat ?

2F -- Health and Fitness has a new routine?? I'm going to have to get it.... I've been tearing out all the routines from the magazines and putting them in sheet protectors and putting them in duo-tangs for easy access...
This week I am working in a school which has only 95 students , my goodness, talk about quiet! If the phone rang 10 times yesterday I'd be shocked, of course when it did ring I was in the washroom, isn't that always the way?

I ran yesterday a good 8.7 k, it was a good run but a very difficult one too, everyone in the group said the same...

Well let's hope that the day isn't too long, and that the phone rings more often...
