Oh Fran! I already flubbed off one day:) I went with my husband on an errand instead of doing legs. I got to look at all kinds of nice bathroom tile!
I might have a shot at legs in the morning and chest and triceps in the evening tomorrow.

I like my mp3 player too.

Whoo-hoo! Congrats Frus!! Lots of fun wedding planning!

I was a good girl and kept to my plan tonight: 1/2 hour of intervals on the elliptical, followed by an hour long body pump class. You could have wiped the floor with me when I was done! But a shower and dinner revived me and I even got some stuff done this evening - though I'm off to bed in 20 min or so. I'm using the body pump as my weights for this week. She does lots more leg work than I push myself to, esp squats. And while I use a little lower weight for arms, she does more sets and I feel :strong: Next week it'll be back to my renovated routine. Tomorrow, more cardio.... :tread: with intervals I think.

2frustrated 03-14-2006 04:23 AM

:D Thank you very much! :D

I'm doing ok with my new improved relaxed eating plan! I seem to be eating less spreading the cookies and doughnuts throughout the week than when I... erm... stuff my face for a whole day! Whodda thunk it?? Of course I am cutting down on the cookies and doughnuts gradually, I think brain decided that I would eat something "naughty" every day after I'd decided that I would allow myself a little something once in a while!

I'm superhydrating for kickboxing tonight... Just out of interest!

Weights tomorrow, a full body workout, but just a quickie one! I don't want to burn out any time soon!

nelie 03-14-2006 09:19 AM

Liza,
I'm going all over, Shanghai, Beijing and other places in between. Actually the plan isn't completely set, we have less than 2 months to figure it all out though. All I know is I'm going to be there for 2 weeks, plane tickets bought :)

My new ipod is actually my second ipod. My first one was one of the bulkier ones which I bought a few years ago. My new one is the ipod nano and although it looks delicate, I've read some info on stress tests and it does pretty well. We'll see but I'm already in love with the tiny thing.

No exercise last night and this week will be pretty sparse as it is the last week of classes. Next week though my ipod and me will be hitting the gym.

srmb60 03-14-2006 01:53 PM

Oh I love legs day! I can always think of several exercises. They feel good and heavy. It's just the best day!

4rabbit 03-14-2006 02:02 PM

Hi LWL,

Frus - Getting married !!! Congratulations! I'm sure you will look fabulous! Are you planning on getting a dress?

Mel - off to jamaica! That sounds SO great!

All off you seem to be zooming around the planet, enjoying spring break, doing great workouts...Great! I really feel energized just reading all the posts!
Our spring break is already over and I seem to be getting into some sort of routine. I did powerclass yesterday, and I am managing sort of 20 - 30 minutes of lying down meditation so far each day. I am really tired from the new working place, I have to adjust to that. Things fortunately also seem to be quieting down on the home front, thank goodness for that. Eating is still bad, I still fall for this eating-when-tired trap.

Yesterday I flipped when DS came home with a bad mark for his german test, but I am getting over this. I helped him for his latin translation, and I do hope he will get some better grade so he will not fail his year because of this divorce situation.

Tomorrow I will go to the gym again, I plan on doing bike or elliptical, and then a power class again.

Have a great day all,
rabbit

I am so totally envious, Shanghai, Beijing, Jamaica, St. Louis :faint:, LWL travels the world, someday I will too....

Today I had a good leg day, did some oldie exercises with cables that I hadn't done in like 20 years, I know I will feel them tomorrow... Yesterday I was soooo tired from my relaxing :yoga: weekend that I was whipped and didn't do a bloody thing, well I shopped and bought a new Maytag stove, but that's it... Maybe spending all that money has pooped me out ... Does anyone use a convection oven? This stove we bought is gas and has a convection oven... I dunno, I'm a sucker for stuff like that, I hope it wasn't a bad decision... Let me know if it is...

It was so windy today I could not believe it, it seems to be a bit calmer now but it's snowing ...

WaterRat 03-14-2006 07:24 PM

Ha! Ilene, it's very very windy here and the weathermen are all saying it's coming from Canada!! Take it back, please.....

Mel 03-14-2006 08:02 PM

Ilene- I have a gas stove with an electric convection oven. I LOVE it! It cooks marginally faster, but more importantly, everything cooks evenly. I can bake without having to move trays around (shhhhh....I don't really bake anymore! except protein muffins ;) ) and everything has a wonderful golden crust on it. I'd find it very hard to go back to a normal range.

I did legs today also and I'm exhausted. My regular workout was good, some heavy stuff, some plyometrics, some balance and functional stuff, then I had two cancellations around lunch time so I decided to go to open skate. Whoa-- I don't think I'll try that again on a leg day! There were only a few people there and one was a very good hockey player, so I was trying to copy a lot of the things he was doing without looking like a clumsy stalker. After about 30 minutes of hard and fast skating, my legs turned to instant jelly. I barely made it back to the bench where my shoes were stashed.

Pat- It's really windy here too! That's a mighty big cross wind!

Fru- Do you slosh when you superhydrate?

Rabbit- Hang in there!

Nelie- Are you school or do you work at a college/university?

Mel

nelie 03-14-2006 08:26 PM

Ilene - I almost got knocked down by wind today! I'm actually not used to so much wind. Your yoga retreat also counts as travelling the world, I think or at least I'd count it :)

Mel - I'm in school, masters program for computer information science. I am over the half way point but it is exhausting me. I'm getting too old for this :) It's not bad though, its an online program, although since it is based in Denver, I went to classes on campus while I was living there. Now I'm here in Maryland, I'm stuck doing all online.

I was feeling lazy today, BF is at a work dinner, so I ate crackers for dinner, whole wheat ritz crackers. I really wanted crackers. I'm obviously not the pinnacle of nutrition here but i'm stressed, tired and craving salt.

3fcuser1058250 03-14-2006 11:32 PM

Nelie -- You ate crackers, at least it wasn't chips! Yay for you

Mel -- You're making me feel better about my decision on the stove, thanks for the input...

I ate popcorn tonight so I'm off to bed...... Do you think that if I run inmy dreams I'll burn those extra calories :^: Please say yesssssssssssss... somehow I doubt it :( ...

Night all!

4rabbit 03-15-2006 05:24 AM

Hi LWL,

Ilene- I'm with nelie, the yoga retreat definitely counts! Where else can you see the beautiful vistas of your inner mind??
I also have a convection oven and I like it a lot. For me the big plus is that you can have things on several racks and do not have to swap them around that often.

Nelie- What do you mean "too old for this" ??? You look young enough on your picture! 2 weeks from now you will look back on this as just the next busy period that you survived. Keep on hanging in there!

We have glorious weather today. It is way to cold for the time of the year (around freezing) but the SUN is SHINING !!! Blue sky! I feel like I have to spring clean. I did one cupboard in the kitchen yesterday before leaving for work and another today before I dropped DD off to school. AND I went to the gym for 20 mins elliptical and 1 hour power class. I feel very virtuous now, and for the 2nd time these past weeks I actually felt great during my workout and enjoyed the experience.

Tiki- Where are you girl???

Greetings to all the other LWL,
Have a great day,
Rabbit

nelie 03-15-2006 09:34 AM

Ilene - I knew I was in trouble when I came home and said "Ooo I want crackers", so rather than trying to eat a real meal and knowing I wanted crackers, I ate the crackers.

Rabbit - Yes, I'm 30 but having so much to do makes me feel old :)

Yesterday, I made a quick trip to Costco and decided to buy some glucosamine pills. I figure it wouldn't hurt and I do plan to make a visit to the doc soon. My knee is filling a lot better but I did tweak it somehow.

Also, I didn't exercise yesterday but I did do 20 minutes of stretching. I found out that i'm really inflexible when it comes to my shoulders. There was one stretch where my thumbs are up and my arms are back trying to reach eachother behind my back and they are no where close. Anyway, I'm trying to increase my flexibility so I enjoyed the stretching routine.

I did fill up my ipod with something cool I found. There are chinese lessons you can download for your mp3 player. I want to know a few things before my trip so I thought it'd be good. I'm not sure I can exercise to them though :)

Sugar Cube 03-15-2006 09:57 AM

SUSAN B - Bathroom tile and working out, what a choice. I don't know how anyone picks anything, I freaked over the paint colors for the house. I just wanted green, oh boy.

Upping the cardio to an hour this morning with upper body workout. Also increased those weights as a routine was going smoothly. Tomorrow the legs, and I do have to catch up on some ab work. I seem to be out of sinc with everyone here, I did upper and everyone else is on the legs.

NELIE - Shanghai is the best, I loved it though I was there so long ago, I just know it is still the best. The river is great, there are tours and they are so much fun. Shanghai is huge. I stayed at the Peace Hotel on the Bund, very grand and there was a wonderful jazz bar, we had tons of fun there. Beijing was not so great, ok but just too Russian for me. Everything was big and concrete though I was happy to be there as I met up with my dad who was on business and we traveled around for a couple of days before going back to Hefei where I was working. The food is marvelous, try everything, I just hope the translations have gotten better. I learned very early to try all the food and not bother with the translations unless I really really liked it and wanted to order more or hated it and wanted to avoid it in the future.

ILENE - I had a convection oven in my condo, LOVED it. It is very even and steady heat. Bakes wonderful cakes and souffles are the best. Also roasts were really nicely done. I say it was a really good decision.

Sunny but windy here in Boston, maybe taking a walk would count as more cardio.
