Week of Aug 23 - 29, 04

Good morning! Just got back from the gym. Obnoxiously early client at 6:30, then two more, then my chest and tri workout. Cardio later. I REALLY need to get back to daily cardio no matter how much I hate it!

Had a good weekend here- but a few extra sweet carbs. So The next two days are going to be real low carb to get the bloat off and get rid of the sugar cravings.

Have a good one,

Mel

TIKI - You are totally right, my BF who became my DH, made me gain 50 pounds when I started slacking off from the gym, yeah it was all his fault, he twisted my arm real hard while he was spoiling me rotten with romantic dinners and weekends away, LOL. Now he watches the kid and sorts laundry while I am at the gym. What a rotten guy!! ;)

BF worthy - Love that a lot.

Was totally off track this weekend, though when off track means french toast made with WW bread, I do think I am not so far down the slippery slope. Did lots of things, it was a real spur of the moment weekend, DD went away with my brother and his family, my nephew and daughter are the same age, so when you have the two they entertain each other. I went out with knitting pals and stuff like that and DH and I went to a movie, Bourne Conspiracy, real good I thought , real fun except for the hail.

CINDY - Use the FlyLady technique on the den, set the timer for 15 minutes, work like crazy, then walk away, you will be amazed how liberating it can become to know you are only going to do something dreadful for a short period of time and it will get done this way too.

LIEKE - Do you have a house in mind for this mortgage? My spelling isn't what it could be s/be frozen broiled or baked eggplant. If you get a lot of eggplant from a garden like I do, I bake it up in the oven, sliced and lightly seasoned, and once it has cooled, layer it in waxed paper and freeze it up to a couple of months. Makes it convenient to use in a hurry.

I have a new system for tracking my workout at the gym, I put all the routines onto cards, then I can take notes, track progress and keep track of when I have done a particular lift. I sort through them the night before picking out what I want to do the next morning, keeping them clipped together. I also put the technique and form info on the back, I can review them while on the treadmill or eliptical warming up. Still using my Halloween pencil my daughter gave me, she was being so helpful.

UBWO went well this morning using my new system, I spent more time on the routine and less on the getting it together stage. Walking at lunch time, the office is so cold, I need to go out and warm up.

Hi all!

I had a pretty good weekend, I had a wedding to go to on Saturday. I was a bit nervous since I didn't know what the food would be like or what not. I did eat something before I went so that I wouldn't be starving staring at all the things I have no real desire to eat. I didn't do too badly, I had some salsa with a piece of beef for the dinner portion. Sadly, no vegetables to eat. Then I had a piece of the wedding cake, but only took a few bites out of it and only the cake part, not the frosting part. Also, they didn't have any water available, bottled or otherwise, so I stuck with caffeine free diet sodas. I also did Pilates before I went to the wedding so I did get my exercise in.

I went to the gym on Sunday and went swimming, which was great. I have noticed that my endurance sucks in general but I know I just have to build it up. In between my laps in the pool, I'd stand at the edge of the lap lane and run in place, then I'd get back to swimming the laps. I also weighed at the gym on Sunday and I had a loss of 5 lbs for last week. Though that is more than my goal, my overall average is around 2 lbs a week which means I should make my end of year goal by the end of October. (I hope)

Good Afternoon Gang

I had a pretty good weekend too... I did do 20K bike ride yesterday it felt good and I went to the gym beforehand and did back... Today it's arms and 5k on the :tread:...

Liza --WW French toast, I had the same a couple of weeks ago. I made mine with 1 egg and 2 eggwhites and SF syrup...:hun:... I don't consider that falling off the wagon at all or even cheating...

Nelie -- :high: good work on the 5#!!! Keep it up... I'd also like to start swimming this winter... DH enjoys swimming the best, he's quite slim, lucky bugger, but he does not exercise. :nono: So this is something we could do together....

Well I've got to get to that gym, first I need some food... So, I'm off..... Hi  Mel and Jack... and all the lurkers....TTFN....

Happy Monday Guys!

I had some reading to do this morning since I haven't been online in a few days and as usual I am laughing out loud and people are leaning back on the chairs and cocking their heads to see what I'm up to.
I ,from now on, will use 'bf' to represent bodyfat and BF to represent 'boyfriend'. Although strenous dieting can cause me to be a lil' biddy at times, it would not cause me to put my "BF underground" or in my case, my DH!
I went to a family reunion this weekend,It was a pretty Big Deal. Aunts, Uncles, cousins etc I haven't seen in eons. The vast majority of those people haven't seen me since I was just a rugrat and now of course I got rugrats of my own..:grouphug:
It was fun but I had um....some problems with the amount and types of food there. OK...Honestly, it was a freakin train wreck... :( :cbg:
I woke up with indigestion..
Good Lord....
Oh well... I refuse to give up.. :tread:

Can a skinny fat beginner post here too? Would someone come and rap my knuckles if I disappear for a couple of days :) I have started and not finished a few things in my day.
The kids threw us a surprise 25th anniversary party on Saturday. So with the pig roast and wine and coors light and all .... Well, Sunday I did the lower body part of stumptuous program 8 and then in the evening I did abs.
Today was my first day at work after vacation but I feel pretty good so I'll do upper body and maybe go for a walk. I could do some on the elliptical too probably.
Except for a couple of chocolates at work (why do people give nurses chocolate) my diet's been good today. It was surprisingly easy to get back in the groove after goofing off for two days. I'm not sure I could have done that in my '1200 calories slimming' days.

Mel 08-23-2004 06:39 PM

Hi Susan! Of course you can join in! Are you just starting with weights? I take it from your last comment you are changing up your eating plan too. Welcome to LWL :)

Mel

srmb60 08-23-2004 08:02 PM

A 'BFL' friend keeps telling me that muscle is key. I'm finally listening. I really like to eat so I'd better make some muscle to use up some calories.

3fcuser1058250 08-23-2004 08:14 PM

Susan ~~ OHHHH! A NEWBIE that's not scared of MUSCLES!! YAY, I love ya already!! WELCOME !! WE LUVS NEWBIES!!!!

I had a great workout today... I did bis and tris then 5k on the :tread: ... It took me 40 mins... I'm working on bringing my time down a bit, no a lot actually, I'd love to run a 5K next year and I want decent timing at least ...

Other than that life is good!!

Your old buddies must have been impressed with the new and improved Jack? Did a bunch of you have a race, going up and down those stairs?

Legs tomorrow for moi Jack what about you?

3fcuser1058250 08-23-2004 09:44 PM

:queen: is fine tonite Jack... Thanks for asking... She's a winding down and is happily tired... I'm off to read a good murder mystery ....

tikanique 08-24-2004 02:26 PM

Jack,

That sounds like an EXCELLENT time together. I'm very impressed with your running the stadium. I never was good at that when I ran high school track. I was so afraid of falling.

What ya reading Queen? I LUV murder mysteries!

Welcome Susan. We love all lifters, slim, average, chunky, whatever!

Hi all the rest!

Date was a no-go. Ole boy helped move his sister into her first apartment at college - three hours from the city. He got back to Detroit around 10 but since the event started at 6PM, I decided not to wait any longer and got there around 9:30. I missed the chef and all the fancy food, but still had a good time munching on fresh fruits and veggies. I passed up the alcohol - was glad I did - because I was asked to drive my friend's mother-in-law home so her son could stay at the party with his wife. All in all, a great time, a great party. And so good to not wake up the next day bloated or hungover.

Tiki.

3fcuser1058250 08-24-2004 02:43 PM

Tiki -- I've read several books this summer I've just finishing reading Kiss the Girls by James Paterson, I also read a couple of Patricia Cornwell's books (isn't that awful I can't remember the names of them at the moment) ... We didn't do much this summer but I sure did read a lot at least 6 books... I also like Kathy Reichs, this summer I read Death du Jour and a while back I had read Deja Dead, both very good reads...

tikanique 08-24-2004 03:21 PM

Oh Man! I just finished Grave Secrets! LOVED IT! I was out of town on a business trip, finished it at 10PM, and IMMEDIATELY got up, went to the store and bought another of her books!

Tiki.

EofAZ 08-24-2004 05:04 PM

Thank you ladies, I was just getting ready to look for another author. I don't get as much time as I would like to sit and read so I listen to audio books back and forth to work. I'm probably the only person on the highway who doesn't get upset when traffic comes to a dead stop, I just think "yippee, I'm going to get a little farther in my book today." It is great, I normally fit in a book a week and I'm just starting the last book in a 12 book series and was looking for another author. I've already gone to the library website and had Deja Dead put on the hold self for me.

Have either of you read Sue Grafton's series? You would probably enjoy them if you haven't, the first one is A is for Alibi, second B is for Burglar, etc.

Also Janet Evanovich's One for the Money, Two for the Show, etc. is really a fun to read, lighter reading but the character really grows on you.

Thx Again.

Sugar Cube 08-24-2004 05:08 PM

Reflecting on that muscle fatigue feeling I have got in my biceps and along my chest. The new routine is working well. Really motivating to keep it up.

TIKI - Sounds like you turned the date into a plus so that is always a good thing.

Good eating day so far, and I have a plan so it will end good as well. Off to deal with car issues, I may be biking to the gym tomorrow, which would make for a good warm up, I have a RR bridge to cross, some good warming up there. I don't think I am in Jack's league yet though.

Liza

srmb60 08-24-2004 05:12 PM

I adore Patricia Cornwell and have read some of her Kay Scarpetta ones twice. I like Sue Grafton too. Right now I'm reading an historical analysis of forensic pathology by Colin Wilson. Very British. Very interesting.
I also have been reading about lifting to failure. Ouch! I'm gonna go do my lower body things now. If I don't come back it's because I couldn't get back upstairs ;)
Steak for supper! Yum!

MrsJim 08-24-2004 06:06 PM

Wow - it's like the Reader's Club Here! The Literate Ladies Who Lift! (and Lunch...had to add that in for my sis, who doesn't lift but IS one of those Ladies who Lunch with her book club).

Other than some horse-related books that would probably bore the crap out of most of you guys, I just finished "Save Karyn: One Shopaholic's Journey to Debt and Back" by Karyn Bosnak. Kind of like a true-story "Confessions of a Shopaholic" (loved that series BTW). A totally fun and absorbing paperback!

Another busy work-week - does it EVER stop?!? :dizzy: I was in a class for most of the morning - and today was the blood drive, so I gave a pint. This time it was rather painful - usually it's no big deal but 3/4 of the way through the donation, I guess my blood clotted and they had to MOVE THE NEEDLE AROUND IN MY VEIN to get it going again. I tell ya, I was just this close to jumping right out of the chair!! Owwwiiee!! Hopefully I won't have a humongus bruise on my arm, which would be totally embarrassing in tonight's Pilates class. :)

Oops - just got called into a meeting so I gotta fly for now...

Mel 08-24-2004 07:58 PM

Hey we all read the same books, too! I've read all of Patricia Cornwall's, Janet Evanovitch's, Cathy Reichs, Sue Grafton's, James Patterson's, and vitually every British mystery writer. I'm an unfortunately fast reader- the books just don't last long enough and the parking at the library is dreadful.

Today's workout was really wimpy shoulders, calves and cardio. My right shoulder has been chronically inflamed for nearly a year and I did a really heavy chest and tri workout yesterday that made it worse :( I'm not sure whether to ease up on everything else to match my wimpy shoulder routines or just ignore the fact that I'm never going to have "good" shoulders, but muscles everywhere else. Hmmmm..... Not that anyone would know but me since I'm hardly headed for competition! LOL, double leg day last week also did in my knees so I'm not sure what I'm going to do for leg day tomorrow. Gawd, I'm falling apart!

Tiki- Too bad about the date, but it sound like you made an evening of it.
SusanB- So how's the lower body now that you know about lifting to failure
Hi Ilene! I wish I could drive up and do bike rides with you :)
Hello Karen, Nelie, Sugarcube, Jack, DIP where are you? Hello to Meg down in FLA sorting through the mess in Orlando!

Gotta scoot-
Mel

srmb60 08-24-2004 08:26 PM

I'm OK. I took Jack's suggestion and went for a walk after. It feels OK. Warm and kinda tingly. I don't know about tomorrow morning ...
I didn't take enough food to work today. I was starving by the time I got home. Tomorrow I'm gonna try a shake for breakfast and more food for afternoon break. If I can carry it all with these old legs that is.
Mel? I was reading your signature. I guess it would have been failure if I'd stayed downstairs. Argh ... I have to go back down to make my lunch.

Airegrrrl 08-24-2004 09:29 PM

Well, phooooooey. I'd written a nice, long chatty post and I was just about to send it when the phone rang. Then I had to make an emergency fix on my website. Typed in the corrections, checked it out on my browser, and then happily closed the page, totally forgetting my percolating post. Gone forever. Aaaarrrrggggg. So, I hope you understand if I make this short.

Good start to the week yesterday ... long brisk walk with dog; half hour of yoga and brief UPWO at the gym. I got the split from a website called Global Fitness, which Tom Venuto recommended. Anyone ever checked it out? They offer personalized workout routines ... I'm thinking of giving it a whirl. They also sell something called Protrack 2005 -- somewhat similar to Fitday or Balance Log. I'll let you know if I pursue it.

Let's see ... Welcome Susan. You'll love it here.

No, Mrs. Jim, it never stops. Work is like the energizer bunny .... it just keeps going.

Speaking of going ... good going Tiki. Sounds like you had fun without 'im.

Mel, you really do have my sympathy. That, however, doesn't do you much good. I sure wish I had some useful advice. Have you tried physical therapy lately? I've been reading about acupuncture for chronic injuries and wondering ... For what it's worth, I treat my shoulders like they're made of glass. I did shoulder presses yesterday with, get this, 5-pound dumbbells. That's it -- 5 pounds. But I have great hopes for progress, what with the massage therapist, the therabands, the yoga. And maybe I'm destined to have whimpy shoulders. Hang in there my friend.

I love the book thread .... I, too, am a mystery lover, although I haven't read any good ones lately. So, thanks for the suggestions. I'm about to start the DaVinci Code, which should keep me entertained.

Greetings Ilene, Jack, Liza, EofAz (East of Arizona? Esther of Arizona? Etc of Arizona ... I give up :) )

Lots of us on the road ... as I recall, Silver's travelling, as is Meg. And isn't Dip at the boat? JC, are you still buried in work? Anne, are you still reading? And there's one more ... I'm so confused between sign-on names and real names, that I've forgotten both. But greetings to you, too.

Hugs.

nelie 08-25-2004 12:59 AM

Hey all !

Work has been pretty busy, but not too busy to get my exercise in. I have been trying to add in some more cardio, especially swimming. It is hard and I guess kind of foreign since I have been focusing so much on my weight training. I feel good and strong though.

I wish I had time to read and I really want to read a book soon, but not sure when considering I start school in a couple weeks and everything is so busy right now.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Airegrrrl 08-25-2004 01:37 PM

Hi Ho. It sure is quiet around here! A good day so far, but very hot and very humid in this corner of the midwest. Eats are spot on, as is exercise: walked the dog; did 30 minutes of yoga, and I'm just back from 30 minutes at the gym (back and bi's). Loved it -- got there just as they were unlocking the doors -- almost had the place to myself. That will change Monday, when classes start, and all of the testosterone tots come charging in to show us all how it's done :) Back to work! Ta Ta.

Sugar Cube 08-25-2004 01:57 PM

LANAII - The whole point of summer reading is to relax, enjoy and not have to remember what you read, who wrote it or what it was about. LOL. I am taking Graham Greene's "Quiet American" on vacation, I have read that at least twice, as well as a John LeCarre which I can't remember reading, but may have. My idea of the perfect vacation is a book a day.

TIKI - Who wrote "Grave Secrets"? Love a good recommendation.

EVAGELINE - Janet Evanovich's books are great, I am up to #11, and waiting for it from the library, I have started on the others she wrote with another person, the "Tops" series I'll call them. She has a website for naming #12.

SUSAN B - Those stairs can be a real pain on the LBWO days. Do you use protein powder? I carry some in a shaker bottle for those days when I don't have enough food with me, I can mix it with the water and ice from the kitchen at work and it does get me through some rough spots.

I did LBWO this am after riding to the gym, my car is still in the shop, apparently the *** replaced something with the wrong part, not fixing the original problem and breaking something else in the process. Anyway, rode to the gym, did my lower workout, I do have to adjust and increase the weights as I get into the LB routine. I am enjoying (?) squats.

MRSJIM - Talk about vampires, hoping you don't get all black and blue too. I have been looking into donating platletts at the local hospital, my friend does it, though she says it is not in a sense of generosity at all, she has 3 kids and when she donates, she is hooked up for two hours, gets waited on hand and foot by the staff and views a movie of her choice, she loves it and wishes she could do it more often.

MEL - You sound like you are having a rough time, hoping it sounds worse than it is.

AIREGRRL - Yes, we all know the land of disappearing posts. Somewhere out there it is a very crowded place.

I am going to concentrate on cardio on vacation, I hope to keep my sanity around my MIL (who can get morose at times), and take real power walks while in Nova Scotia. Of course, in between reading.

Food going very well today, great lemon BBQ flavored grilled chicken, I grabbed stuff out of the cabinet and grilled the chicken on lemon slices. Turned out rather well.

Off to have some cottage cheese, still working on acquiring the taste.

EofAZ 08-25-2004 05:51 PM

Airegrrl, E is the shortest nickname I've ever received from anyone, and the list of nicknames is pretty extensive. So yet another mystery is solved.

Sugar Cube, I’m wait listed at the library for Evanovich’s next book and Grafton’s too.

So far so good on working out, did LBWO on Monday, walked 3.5 miles Tuesday during lunch and slept in this morning so I will have to do my UBWO when I get home from work. That should be pretty easy since I really enjoy that particular workout.

srmb60 08-25-2004 07:42 PM

I took enough food to work today but everyone wants to try my Kashi GoLean! My legs feel like heavvvvvy rubber today. By the time I climbed the stairs after afternoon break I was almost moaning. Then the Princess wanted to go grocery shopping for her pantry at school. But I'm gonna do upper body (UBWO is that right?) as soon as Canadian Idol starts. Gotta go have something to eat first.
Thanks for all the tips and the wonderful welcome!

Mel 08-25-2004 09:10 PM

Finally back from the gym. I had 2 clients cancel and 1 just not show up today. The place is a ghost town. Everyone must be either shopping for school or doing their last gasp of summer vacation. I had loads of time for a brutal leg worout- the knees held up, but I didn't do any plyometics (leaping and jumping) today. Just lots of heavy work, and what seemed like a mile of lunges. My new favorite way to do lunges is with a medicine ball held out in front, then rotate my torso towards the back-leg side and then back to center before I take the next step. Keeps you down in the lunge for longer and adds oblique ab work at the same time  I had a 1 hour hole between clients this evening, and the spin instructor suckered me in to his class for 45 minutes of torture  I like spinning classes, but not without bike shorts :o and it's kind of rough after doing legs in the afternoon.

SugarCube- I think Grave Secrets was by Kathy Reichs. Yup, just checked it on amazon. I enjoyed all her books that I could find in paperback. I also liked Tammy Hoag's books. They were nice a long, too. I tend to try to buy books by the pound, since I read so quickly.

Robin- I haven't done anything except try to stretch and take tylenol. I just discovered that the massage therapist at the gym gives all gym employees a free 1/2 hour and discounts! I've been working there almost a year and no one told me that. I'm in for next week :D I'm about to start the DaVinci Code, too, but it's my cardio "reading". A friend lent me a few books on CD and I actually look forward to cardio now. Sort of :p

Hi to everyone else, bedtime for me.

Mel

Airegrrrl 08-26-2004 08:20 AM

Jack, what a clarion call to wake up and get moving! Just as I was all fired and ready to haul a**, I remembered that I have a dentist's appointment this morning. So, no ironworks for moi (see Ilene, we ARE bilingual) this a.m. Yesterday's freshman induction ceremony was a great success, and I was even more pleased that I did NOT stiffen up whilst sitting on the platform. I had feared that my endeavors in the gym would take their toll, but it didn't happen. I DID, however, sleep like the dead last night  Gotta jet ... keep smiling everyone: weekend's almost here!

Sugar Cube 08-26-2004 09:43 AM

Thursday Rise and Shine

MEL - My best friend and I also buy books "by the pound". When we used to go to Florida for school vacations, we would ration ourselves, she brought 6 - I brought 6 and we traded back and forth, it was a real planning exercise to make sure we got the most pages for the space.

Skipped the gym, my stomach is out of sorts and I just am down, so I got productive around the house, planning to make up some cardio tomorrow morning. And may take a bike ride this evening, the weather has been great here so far this week.

Good breakfast and good food planned all day long. Got some olives, missed the fact they have pits, oh well. still a nice treat for me.

My LBWO yesterday still needs to be ramped up, I have very little soreness to show for my efforts, though I know that the bike ride over the RR bridge was a breeze compared to this spring when I sounded like the trains chugging down the tracks. Nice to have some significant improvement and something to show for my efforts to date.

Off to face the day.

BfL_Cat 08-26-2004 11:13 AM

Hey all - lurking but still here. Going through a bit of a rough time this week - broke it off with the bf - didn't want to, but needed to for my own sanity. I hate when it's like that.... Anyway, I'm hanging in there, and food hasn't been to bad.

Wanted to jump in on the book topic and say that I'm a big Tami Hoag fan - am currenlty reading "Dark Horse", and see that she's got another new release out in hardcover, so looking forward to that in paperback as well.

Boy Jack - you make me tired just reading your posts!

Hello to everyone, and welcome to the newbies I've not said "hi!" to yet - I'll post more when I'm feeling more myself.

I did get an email yesterday saying that the last round BFL contest for the year is starting by August 30th, so this may be just the motivation I need to get my backside in gear again - I've not done a "real" challenge since Spring...
Cindy

2sw33t 08-26-2004 03:21 PM

Hi, I'm back! It's been a couple of months - I didn't realize I was going to have such a tough time staying on track during the summer. I've been up and down a bit (mostly up) in the weight department, and my eating and exercising has been consistently inconsistent.

I just realized, though, that I only have 4 months left to make it to goal if I want to keep my New Year's resolution. It's still doable, but it would have been easier if I hadn't wasted several months.

Well, now I have to go catch up on my reading.

Mel 08-26-2004 04:17 PM

Hey there 2SW  That goal is VERY doable by the end of the year. I lost more than twice that in 4 months, so just get focussed an hop on back in the wagon. Nice to see you back again :)

Cindy- sorry to hear about bf, but I'm sure it'll improve the BF. Hope things are OK with you :goodvibes:

I'm headed back to the gym for 2 evening clients. I did a long cross-trainer session this morning because I wanted to hear more of The DaVinci Code. This could be a good way to peel off a few more pounds

RobinBeBe 08-26-2004 10:58 PM

Hello everyone!!! LTNS!!

Well, the last few months have been busy!! We moved locally into a larger house, and I am no longer working. I have been working to obtain my real estate license....more flexible hours :) This has given me the opportunity to cook at home more, which is great, and I am sure it is healthier too.

I was doing a low carb diet for 8 months. I stalled out in April, and have not lost an ounce since. I did everything other low carbers suggested on other boards, but nothing worked. I realized that the only way I was going to lose again would be to cut back my carbs to about 20-25 a day. I was consuming about 40. So few carbs would mean more or less a meat and cheese diet, with a few veggies thrown in. UGH! It also was giving me no energy at the gym. Plus, I kept thinking to myself, how on earth am I going to lose weight on 2500 calories a day that is 70 percent fat?

After some searching, I came upon a cookbook I had from a show on Food Network called Cooking Thin. She advocates a more traditional diet of portion/calorie/fat control. Yet, her approach is to take "baby" steps towards better behavior. It is also very informal. I was very worried I would balloon upon re-introduction of carbs, but that has not happened. I am really enjoying being able to eat carb again...I had not realzed how much I missed them!

I am also back in the gym, doing weights, and I will be adding cardio and pilates to my routine. Hopefully I will be around more :)

Darling Daughter Turned Six Today

Just lost my post, not sure what I did, but I won't do it again.

Got up this morning, not feeling great, but decided to decorate house for the BD girl, frosted the cake to look like a unicorn and got to measure her on the door. She has grown 3 inches in one year. Wow. :hb:

I guess I have either allergies, getting them later in life is good in that I spent a long time without them, or I have some nasty summer cold, because my stomach is upset. Not sure but I am going on vacation as of noon today.

CINDY - Thanks for the Tami Hoag recommendation, this place is way better than Oprah. Take a lot of time for yourself now, take it easy.

ROBIN - I have also stalled on the lowcarb, I don't think I can go above 35 a day. I had added in some cottage cheese, or at least was learning to, as well as a half cup of brown rice or WW pasta. I don't really miss them, but was looking for some more balance. I have heard good things about Cooking Thin, really seems another way to say moderation. I have to keep up on the study. I am heading to Nova Scotia tomorrow, and am definately going to stay on track, we are camping and I am the head chef, so I am planning lots of seafood, and no ice cream.

JACK - You would be proud of me, I shifted the three boxes of submittals this morning, they got delivered to the front desk and the person who brought them off of the elevator looked like ****. I told him I would get it taken care of, I was hoping he didn't collapse at the front desk. Well, with my new upper body and lower strength, I was able to shift the boxes, each with 8-10 reams of paper, to my office. No backache, and not even a sweat. Amazing what one month of working out can do for a person.

Have a great week everyone and a safe labor day, and for all the students, may this be the year of the straight A's.

Liza
