Default body for life

I wanted to get info on the body for life diet... Can anyone give me an idea of the foods allowed & a quick review of the program. I was looking at this book at the book store and it seems like a great program. Has anyone has success with it ?

Welcome to LWL Edison!

We have a basic synopsis of the BFL plan in the sticky "Basic Bodybuilding Information". IMO, BFL is a very good introduction to weight training if you've never done it before. (Incidentally, you might want to check out the Eating for Life thread in General Diet Plans - that's a group following the diet plan outlined in Bill Phillips' new book, Eating for Life).

And of course, feel free to join us on the weekly thread - we aren't following any one program - basically all doing our own thing but following what our Meg has called the "LWL Holy Trinity" - i.e. clean nutrition, weight training, and intense cardio.

edison, I like BFL a lot and I recommend it. I did a challenge about a year ago and lost 28 lbs. I lost my way after that, but have recently gotten back to it and am doing well. It is a great way to eat, to train your body to eat 6 small meals a day seems to help keep your body working at its peak without being hungry. The diet consists of a protein serving and a carb serving at each meal w/ added vegetables at least a couple times of day. I would recommend borrowing or purchasing the book because it will give you all the details and it would be something that you want to refer to often if you decide to follow the diet. The exercise is an equally important component of the eating plan and consists of 6 days of exercise a week, 3 of strength training and 3 of cardio work. It's a good plan, it's work but I have found that it is very doable. Please feel welcome to join us over at the General Diet Plans thread under the heading Eating for Life which is the title of the author's second book. Eating For Life offers some of the same information but is really more of a companion cookbook to Body For Life.
