Good Morning,
I just read a short article about the three reasons for weight gain...Friday, Saturday & Sunday. For me, this is so true!! I eat well all week long and then slack off on the weekends, especially Saturday night & Sunday. Does this happen to anyone else?? There is probably already a thread out there about this issue.
Anyhoo, this weekend I am going to make a meal plan and STICK TO IT!!! Tomorrow night is dinner out, and so I'm going to eat healthy during the day, have a reasonable entree and skip dessert. And as for Sunday, there will be no breakfast out this weekend. Thats a killer -- I have a recurring Sat. night dream about pancakes and I practically sleep walk to the local breakfast joint every Sunday morning (with hubby in tow).
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!! Its snowing again in NH. I love it - tomorrow is the first day of spring !!
Hi Melissa, Yes, I live in the Portsmouth area, but grew up in the southwestern part of NH, near Peterborough. I love my New England, couldn't leave. Wow, NYC is a big change from little 'ole NH.
Anne,
I can totally understand the weekend gain thing. In my pre-BFL days, I would hit the grocery store every Friday night after work, and stock up on snacks for the weekend. I've always had a thing about variety, so I'd end up with a bunch of different stuff that I just wanted "tastes" of. Well, needless to say, I'd always end up finishing off everything, with the plan of "being good" in the new week.
It was in doing this weekend after weekend, that I ate my way up to nearly 250#!
Cindy
PS - you can still have breakfast out, just make it an egg-white omelet, or stay home and make yourself protein pancakes (shanny cakes).
Anne - I grew up in the Hanover area and then when I was 16 moved across the river to Vermont. Love New England and would love to go back there! But gotta go where the job is Oh well, someday...and at least I have parents I can go visit on long weekends
Yes FSS.... I'm getting better at handling them.... Fridays here is pizza.... Saturday is wine.... Sunday I now go to the gym and eat clean... So I've eliminated one out of the 3 days... I also only have ONE cheat meal/day instead of the WHOLE day this makes a very big difference on the scale Monday morning and I drink a ton of water!...
I can honestly say that in my entire life, I've never forgotten to eat. I may have not eaten because I couldn't stop something else I was doing, but I was always aware that I hadn't eaten. Dh and I almost got divorced rehabbing our first house because we'd start working after work, and not eat until whatever the current projects was got done. Blood sugar dropped, tempers rose...but I didn't forget to eat LOL!
Ah, last Saturday I was outside working in the yard for hours, and forgot to eat. I wasn't necessarily hungry, but forced myself to have something. It made me stop to think that this was *not* my program (5-6), and was an invitation for a stuff-arama. I was just so in to what I was doing that time got away from me. Perahps, just an early season reminder not to let it happen again.
Here's another 22 reasons someone posted up at the Dr. Phil forum some time back-

Isn't that great? When I read that the first time, I copied and pasted it and sent it to myself in an e-mail. I have since printed it out, and it's now with my goals, and substitute behaviors that I will look at several times a day.
When I saw the topic of this thread, it was the first thing I thought of. There are some real gems and keepers on the forums, and I wish I could take the time like I used to reading them all. I agree, Karen that Buyer Beware is a great place for it. Buyer Beware is one of my favorites.
wow I just had another read of that list and I can see a few of those which I hadn't resolved with myself the first time I lost all of my weight! ESPECIALLY Number 22.!
