Hi Debbie — I went a little bit further and entered my best guess for what you ate into Fitday and this is what I got (without the KFC):

Total calories = 2265
Fat = 138g
Carbs = 109g
Protein = 147g

If you want to look, I entered it as tomorrow's menu in my Fitday journal: http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJ...Month=1&Day=11

When you add in the KFC, using Karen’s numbers, you get 3000 calories, with 176g of fat. Sadly, none of us is going to lose any weight at that calorie level, even if we spend all day in the gym. You have to create a calorie deficit in order to lose weight by both eating less and burning off calories through exercise. Karen’s got some excellent suggestions for ways to take your menu and tweak it to make it better for weight loss.

I couldn’t possibly do this myself without Fitday and strongly suggest that you set up an account there so that you can create menus in advance and really see what you’re eating. It was eye-opening for me at first!

Good luck, Debbie!

Say Ilene, I've been meaning to ask ... when you mix the oatmeal, the milk and protein powder ... is this cooked, or blended? And what do you do with apple and whey? I conjuring up some pretty weird stuff in my mind. :lol:

Robin -- Lately I'm on a kick of dry large flake oatmeal 1/2c, that I let sit in the 1/2c.of cold milk, with a little Splenda or Brown Sugar Twin... To me it tastes like granola...I started doing this because suddenly I missed my cold cereal in the morning... I have the whey protein powder in a glass mixed with water and 1/2c milk... I just have whey chocolate mixed in water only as a drink with the apple on the side... I vary tho I've cooked my 1/2c oatmeal with water with the whey pp in the oatmeal, I think Meg does that too... For some reason I miss milk all of a sudden :bb: :shrug:....

Ohhhhhhhhh, I see now. Makes perfect sense to me. Funny, I've been missing cold cereal, too, and I haven't had any in months. I wonder what's up with that? I'm finding PP mixed in oatmeal something of an acquired taste, but a favorite supper is a bowl of hot oatmeal (especially the steel cut) and a PP shake. Kinda like comfort food. If I have calories to burn, I stir in 1 T of peanut butter, but that's sheer indulgence. Usually, by the time dinnertime rolls around, I'm pushing my limit. :spin:

I am doing much better

Just wanted to tell everyone that I am doing much better with my food intake since I began using fitday last week. I have cut my fat calories in half and have gone over 1500 calories once. I have lost 4 lbs so far. I am encouraging my daughter to use it also, she wants to lose some weight too.
I am also thinking of changing my workout. I have been doing a full body workout 3 times a week, upper and lower and 1/2 hr. of cardio. After reading some of your posts I am thinking of working upper on Mondays, intense abs on Wednesdays and lower on Fridays. Can anyone give me some advice on this?
