Cindy -- Have a good time  keep in touch...

Today my allergies acted up badly, firstly it's the time of year, secondly, 2 CATS!! I am a sucker for punishement... So in my infinite wisdom  I took TWO allergy pills... I took my mom for lunch and we were supposed to go grocery shopping, but I was stoned on allergy pills!! Good thing everything around here is close, so I came home and crashed the rest of the afternoon, till about 5:30... When I figured that I should get up since the kids were not going to prepare the supper, eventho it was all leftovers...I'm just starting to come around and it's almost 9PM!!

My g/f dragged me out of the house for a walk which the fresh air felt good but I am in a dizzy state...:dizzy:

Anywho gotta go take a bath and go to bed, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for allergies...

Later...

Tuesday

Yahoo! There is finally school tomorrow! (for those not following my strike saga, our teachers have been out on strike for almost 2 weeks :( ) I am one happy mom

Ilene- Hope you recover from doctoring yourself up so well :D Actually, checking out like that for a while sounds quite appealing some days. I certainly hope you got your usual early workout done.

Tidey- Sounds like you've made a great choice with the gym and trainer. I think you're wise to not let him tell you your bf%. Whenever I did, it just upset me. Better to just hear "down by x% " than the actual number. A lot like getting on the scale.

Congrats on the run, Lois. Doesn't it feel great?

Hi Dip, Ledom, karen, JC where are you, Audrey (busy, busy)- and everyoe else I've missed.

I'm incredibly sore in the upper body today. My lifting schedule got all mixed up due to a variety of reasons, so I ended up doing back and tri's on Sunday when I usually don't lift, then chest and bi's on Monday, with shoulders, calves and abs today. I can hardly move my arms. Tomorrow is LEG DAY so I sould be completely immobile by tomorrow night.

STARVING-need food and sleep! See y'all!

mel
ps- Meg: if you haven't left yet, pack black and beige. And warm. :)

JEC 10-07-2003 10:31 PM

I'm here!! I am incredibly sore as well - I just changed my lifting routine and it's a killer. I have been spending waaaaay too much time somewhere else - sorry!

Eats are good, lifting is good, cardio is life and Life is great! :D

Kanola 10-08-2003 06:33 AM

hhhmmm....

:)

I am tempted by the cottage cheese, PB and cocoa....

I know there are 3 of the Reese Peanut butter cups somewhere in this house... hubby hid them from me cause my friend brought them back with him from overseas!! And I miss em!!! Only one package a week tho! :)

I wonder if that would be a good replacement? hhhhmmmm.....

:)
Nola.

Morning girls-

This week I have changed my lifting to accomodate my life better. I am doing one body part a day instead of two. That means I have to lift more days, but for shorter times. Right now I am lifting heavy w/ long rests and I get so antsy down in the basement when I know I still have to get food ready, get myself ready and go to work. Somehow a shorter time in the gym feels better. It has also allowed me to get more cardio in this week as well. Last week was a bust w/ exercise because of my anxiousness over time.

I am at such a vulnerable place now. I have gotten my weight to my sticking point. I always stop when I get to this weight, it has become a psychological issue I think. I am concentrating on making this time different. I have a goal to lose 6 1/2 lbs. by the middle of next month as a b'day present to myself.

MrsJim 10-08-2003 09:40 AM

Okay this is ALL MEG'S FAULT that now I have that Gary Wright song stuck in my head...with the visual from Wayne's World (remember they used that song for Garth's crush on the donut waitress??) ooohh...DREEEEEAMweaver...

Naughty girl!

Well no Dreamweaver class today. I must say it's an AWESOME program - much better than HTML. Can't wait to start using it!

Well I KNOW WHAT YOU ALL ARE THINKING NOW. You're thinking "well MrsJim lives in Cali...so what does SHE think about The Governator?" Well I don't generally get political here but...

 :strong: :jig: :cb: and we'll see how he does in office!

'nuff said...

So anyway...today I go back to the office...and since it's OCTOBER I KNOW that over this weekend many many of my co-workers paid a visit to COSTCO (right across the street from the office) and bought many pounds of Halloween candy which I must avoid like the PLAGUE... aarrgh...

About having a Dr. Phil book thread here...hmmm...I've actually been lurking a bit at the Book Club forum and they seem to have a really good discussion going over there. I think that they might like our input as well - of course I haven't read the book yet - the library's copies (36) are either on order or being processed (whatever that means...as far as I know these days, they just stick a bar-code on it...none of those pockets in the frontispiece any more). So hopefully I'll get to read it pretty soon! The show has been very interesting to say the least...

Just checked the clock and it's already 6:40! Gotta take my shower and hoof it down to the office (it's also riding day for me - yippee!) I'll try and post more later and maybe even get some individual shouts for a change...aarggh.

Hey all! (Good for Arnold and I sincerely hope he succeeds.)

Did real well on eats and UBWO yesterday. Did some squats and lunges too. Arms, shoulders and thighs hurt so good. Only hit a 9er on the treadmill though. Speaking of which, I have to get on it, and then do some more yardwork. This weather is not going to hold out past the weekend they say, soooo. . .

Check in later!

Yummmm, Peanut Butter!

The news all over (aside from Arnold) is that PB is good for you. Today's MSNBC home page had an article saying that even commercial PB is as good for you as the "health food" variety. Well, that I don't buy because they completely ignored the sugar and corn syrup aspects, but now I' m totally vindicated in my peanut butter addiction. I just did a brutal leg workout, and came home and made my favorite concoction that Meg mentioned. We are still trying to come up with a name for it, but here it is.
1/2 c. low or no fat cottage cheese
1 tablespoon natural chunky PB
1 tablespoon dry oatmeal
1 teaspoon dry cocoa powder
sweetener of choice (I use agave because splenda tastes like chemicals to me)

Stir it up REALLY well. I haven't tried a blender because I like the texture. I think it tastes like chocolate pb cookie dough, but my 13 yr old son spit it out! lol- what does a 13 yr old know!

It's a real treat meal to me, and only the fact that I know I need vegies and I like them, stops me from eating it at least 3 times a day. But after doing legs, I deserve it. :)

Mrs Jim,

Garth sings Foxy Lady to the donut girl, and Wayne hears Dreamweaver when he looks at Casandra in the club :) Sorry I just had to say. I love that movie (mmmmmmmmmmalicecooper!)

Well I did LBWO today. And because I did that situp test yesterday Im in AAAAAAAAAGONY in my abs. It hurts to laugh, and Im not even going to THINK about doing abs tomorrow hehe

That recipie looks pretty good Mel, I might have to try it *Drool* unfortuently I cant get natural peanut butter here (and regular peanut butter is 6 bucks for 1.5cups, and can be out of stock for months at a time...) so we'll see when i get around to it lol

My SO and I are also glad Arnie got into office, although i hope this doenst preclude another terminator movie :/ If anyone remembers (or cares lol) in Demolition Man, Sly Stallone hears on the radio about "president schwarzenegger" so one can only wonder if the consitution will be amended allowing non-us bprn citizens to run. /end politcal section

Well, Im outta here for today. Tomorrow is another long day so I might not make it here to post, but I will definately read as soon as I get a chance!

MrsJim 10-08-2003 04:56 PM

Hmmm...Mel...

How about "goop"?

Or "power goop"?

Yipes...I'm not strong enough to have a whole freakin' jar of PB around the house...but I've mentioned that before... :)

Kanola 10-08-2003 06:57 PM

Peanut Butter is evil!

I am not strong enough either to have PB in the house. We buy the mega small jars because on free day I sometimes have *warning - this may gross you out* PB/banana/cheese toasted sandwiches.

I will see if one of the health food stores in the city here have natural pb and if it is expensive then maybe that will keep me rationing it.

I have eaten a medium sized jar over 2 days in the past, one of my very evil habits... and Reese peanut butter products are a weakness for me, I will not tell those horror stories!

:)

Missed the workout this morning, hubby was out fixing a mates computer and did not get home until late and he did not set the alarm so I woke up a half hour late. Sucks. But it is cardio day so I have my pedometer on my waist, and will go for a run after work and walking lots throughout the day too. My legs are KILLING me from yesterday's workout, so I probably would have had an unproductive cardio session anyway :(

Have a great day everyone!
Nola.

Jaylizbet 10-08-2003 07:38 PM

Hey Nola

You can get natural pb from coles in the health food section. (Well you can in NSW anyway :) ) For a medium jar it's around $5 ( i think) makes me ration it out anyway. I haven't had any pb binges since I've bought it. I've never tried pb, banana and cheese together before. Only had banana and pb or cheese and pb. I think I see a free meal coming up this weekend. ;) :smoking:

Hey ladies, how's everything going?

JC Who loves ya baby?! :D  :flow1:
