Default Help with powerlifting and weight loss

Hi,

I'm 5'5", 145lb, looking to cut to 130lbs, while maintaining/slightly increasing strength. I squat/bench/DL 3x/week, but can't seem to drop inches or pounds. I'm following Atkins, but have only lost 2lb after a month of being on it. Any tips or suggestions?

I'm a quasi-vegetarian and my sources of protein are eggs, tuna, albacore and ON whey shakes.

Saying your looking to lose 15lb makes no sense without context. are you 145 with 15% body fat or 145 with 30% body fat etc? are you lifting high weight low rep? low weight high rep? are you having long breaks between sets? what is your cardio regime?

Get yourself onto one of the big bodybuilding sites and look at cutting routines. this will give you a guide to a routine designed to lose as much fat as possible while maintaining as much muscle as possible.

also why 130? what drive this number is it simply you want to be 130 for some personal reason or is it you look in the mirror see yourself and think yea I could lose 15lb I wanna see some abs? Atkins diet is simply a low calorie diet, studies have shown that basically it reduces hunger so we eat less. hence that after the initial few months of weight loss being very high at around the 6-9 month mark the results are similar to plans such as WW and slimfast.

If you truly want to lose fat and show a good gym physique then i'll be honest your probably going to want to read up on BB and lifting specific forums not a sub forum like this. not that there are not people who can help you out.

Atkins can be used with cardio without detriment to intensity if that is how you want to go.

People are looking at powerlifting for more than just strength and size as it grows more and more popular. Others, on the other hand, are highly concerned with weight loss.
