Get a Jump on March!
I officially declare February DONE... about 4 hours early, but I've had enough of it.
We still have about 2 feet of snow on the yard, most of the shrubs that are uncovered have been trashed by the weight of the snow, but my driveway and the streets are clear. Yesterday I did a CrossFit style workout at home and incorporated barefoot treadmill sprints. It felt great at the time, but my lower legs are KILLING me now! All the muscles around my ankles are sore from running on my toes and the balls of my feet. I tried to not even let my heels hit at all. I think if you put it all together it was about 10 minutes of running that way, but oh boy...talk about different muscles! I am SOOOOOO ready for spring, but have spent most of today assembling my ski equipment for my trip to Colorado (leaving Thursday am) and watching the US vs. Canada hockey game. At least one person was happy at our house. I felt so bad for Ryan Miller. The tournament format ( I guess for any team sport) stinks.... You win for the gold, win for the bronze, yet lose for the silver. Here's to melting snow! Mel |
4 hrs til March? Should I finish putting away the Halloween decorations then? ;)
|
Nah, might as well just leave 'em out. You'd just have to take them out in another 7-8 months anyway ;)
|
Mel - enjoy your trip! We totally missed the hockey game yesterday, running after DSS all weekend. Heard it was exciting, and a little tragic from our side. Sadness.
Midwife - my IT just got the lights off his house from Christmas last week. I told him to just leave them up at this point. So, Halloween should definitely just stay out! I swear I thought I put a post in February over the weekend but don't see it... Hmm... So I am going to make a doctor's appt this week, actually I'll call after they come back from lunch. I was feeling much better in the arm and shoulder, felt pretty much completely normal. Did 25 mins of 'hip opener #3' from the 20 min yoga download podcast Saturday night and wham. Back to stiff shoulder again. Darnit. So, any strength training today will not include UB, or if so very lightly and only the rehab exercises I got from a PT friend. Lydia - I read the description of your exercise and like it a lot. I guess you do the plank on your forearms and that is why they get rubbed so badly? Alena - I like that yoga pose, even though I can't quite get into it. My hamstrings and hips are tight so I never really make it down to hands under the feet. I usually just get to hands on shins, ankles on a good day. Cool that you have someone to help you adjust the poses. I can't remember what else I had responded to in February - I'll have to look back... Good day everyone! |
Midwife,
Your Halloween comment almost had me choke on my sandwich. Thanks for the laugh! Lydia, Thanks for the link re padahastasana. Now that I know what the name consists of, I can pronounce & remember it. Didn't know it's good for constipation. I will recommend it to a friend of mine who has a permanent problem in that department. Mel, Enjoy your trip! We are supposed to have a few mild days, with temps at zero or just above zero. Possible flurries but no accumulation. I am ready to retire the shovel until next winter. I created an exercise ticker for March. I remember, from my early days on 3FC, how the ticker motivated me to push myself on the treadmill. I hope it will still work the same way. Alena |
Shannon,
I didn't see your post until after I uploaded mine. Sorry about the stiff shoulder. I must have done something to my left shoulder a while ago because recently it started to bug me. I sleep on my left side and almost each morning I woke up to sore left shoulder. Then it went away but I felt it yesterday at the beginning of the yoga class (we started with the child pose, arms as far ahead in front of you as possible) and the shoulder resisted). Then I felt it for the rest of the day. I wish we had a crystal ball that would allow us to look back and see what we did wrong or we overdid that lead to some injury/issue. Wouldn't that be great? |
My first 40 minutes of exercise in March are done. I went :swim:.
Rabbit and Birchie: I found out only an hour ago about the hurricane-like storm that blew into western Europe yesterday (not to mention the quake in Chile - I haven't watched news all weekend). I am somewhat in the dark as to where Birchie lives, anyhow, I hope both you and your loved ones are ok!! Alena |
I thought the hockey game turned out just fine ;)
I finally cranked out some decent bench presses today! |
Hello all!
I'm sorry I've been absent. Like Alena, I've been battling lower back pain and it's really just not fun at all. Then things at work get busy, and long story short -- all those things that keep me off track have been monopolizing my attention. But I am back a lot sooner this time! Arms today, cardio tomorrow. Alena, I have been working with my chiropractor and a yoga coach and boy does that help a lot! I thought I'd mention it to you; hope you feel better soon. I've missed you all! And OK I have to admit that I've been obsessed with the Olympics. I normally don't watch TV at all and yikes did I make up for those missed hours in front of the TV! Mel, have fun in Colorado!! I hope the Breckenridge snow sculptures are still there so you can enjoy them. They are very cool. (no pun intended!) Hope you have a wonderful ski time! Shannon, hope you feel better soon! Hi Lydia, Rabbit, Silver, Pat, Susan B, Midwife, Depalma, and everyone! And CONGRATS Sacha on your engagement!!! |

I had a FBWO scheduled for today, but when I got up this morning my knees were very tight and achy. I opted for a half hour on the treadmill. I'll do the workout tomorrow. Wed is a rest day for me as I have a funeral in the morning and then am picking up a friend at the airport (she's in town for the library conference) and we'll meet another friend and go out to lunch. Otherwise it's taxes and decluttering.... |
Morning, everyone!
On the hockey game -- my parents went to the Olympics this year, thanks to a relative who got them comped tickets, hotel rooms, meals, limo service, etc. Now, my dad has a mild interest in sports, though mostly baseball and tennis. My mom, however, detests games of all kinds and doesn't understand sports; despite being a Canadian citizen and now Canadian resident, I'm not sure if she knows that hockey is played with a puck and not a ball. Anyway, they didn't see The Game, but that didn't stop her from calling me in the middle of my night to crow about Canada's win. I've never heard her say "eh" and "aboot" so many times in my life! Been way too busy with work stuff around here. I've still managed to steal off to the gym (and skiing with The Boy yesterday), but my diet has been pretty terrible. Time to kick it up a notch. Bam. be strong // Kim |
Half our family was very pleased with the outcome of THE GAME (DH was raised in Canada and has British, Canadian and US citizenship, DD was born in Canadian and has played lacrosse for Canadian National teams so feels Canadian although she was raised here, DS has all 3 citizenships also but really identifies himself as a US citizen and then there is poor me with just one passport.....). DS was texting us the score throughout the game as if we weren't glued to it. Oh well, at least it proved he's still alive. At 19, in his first year of university, he's not a great communicator.
I'm going lighter on the lifts this week and refusing to run and jump- I'm terrified of hurting my knees before my ski trip. I tried barefoot treadmill running on the weekend for a measly 8 minutes. It felt GREAT while I was doing it, but wow- there are a lot of little lower leg muscles that don't get used when you are wearing running shoes! Hi DenverChick! I hear you are finally getting some snow out there! Probably will start dumping down when I'm supposed to either arrive or leave DIA! Mel |
Mel, if you don't like the Colorado weather, just wait 10 minutes and you'll be happy! :-)
If you want to check mountain weather, try the Vail Daily. Also, cotrip dot org has live cameras on highways around the state. It's a spectacularly sunny morning today with a signature Colorado sapphire blue sky. I am jealous, Mel, I haven't been skiing in years! Anyway, March is my fav month for snow fun. Best conditions with a good base and not too cold! Whee! So happy it's not Monday! Woot woot woot, have a happy day all! |
Denver, aloha!!!
Nice to hear from you though I am sorry to hear your back is bothering you, too. Which area? I am having a good day today, I think the yoga helped and I just got back from physio so I am feeling pretty groovy. I am thinking .... that I will cough up the extra money and do Zumba tonight. :-) Kim, What exactly does it mean that your eating was terrible? That you had a slice of bread each day? I have to admit that I caved in on Sunday and bought some chicken fingers at the deli counter and also sauteed veggies. The chicken fingers were probably less bad (even though breaded and deep fried) than the sauteed veggies. I think they were loaded with fat. I had to microwave an entire broccoli and mix small amounts of the sauteed veggies with large amounts of the broccoli to be able to eat them at all. The rest garnished the dogs' kibble (they did not mind). Last night, I marinated some marlin steaks in light soy sauce with grated ginger, garlic and a small bit of brown sugar (the recipe called for honey but I don't have any). I haven't tasted them yet (I will have one for dinner) but the smell was delicious. Lydia, Has your pretty dress arrived yet? Alena |
I have done no strength training, other than yoga, in almost ten days. Gotta get back on program. Feeling stiff. Ack. Gotta get to the doctor. Double ack. Yes Alena, I wish I had a crystal ball to show me exactly what I did to myself that would let me go back and not do it...
Mel - I tried some barefoot running on the treadmill last week, too. Weird feeling, isn't it? And yes, the lower leg muscles let me know later how neglected they are in shoes. Alena - that marlin sounds great... Hey Denver! Sorry you are having back trouble. Kim - funny that your mom called you about the hockey game. :) Pat - how are your knees feeling today? Better I hope. Susan - :high: on the bench presses! Going to exercise tonight. One way or another. DH has it on his schedule, too, so I can use him being out there as a motivator. Snow finally slowing down outside my window, which is a good thing. Good day all! |
Knees okay today (as much as they ever are anyway), but woke up with a headache, so put off the gym a couple of hours. I went and did my WBWO, but the "light" version as the headache was better but not gone. :) I think I need some ibuprofen and a nap to completely get rid of it.
Tomorrow will not be a good day. A very good friend and neighbor died of kidney cancer last week (only 61) and her funeral is in the morning. I have to go right from that to Anchorage to pick up a librarian friend at the airport. She's in town for the library conference (to which I'm not going :( ) and we're having lunch since she can't make the dinner with the other directors on Friday. I also hope to get to Best Buy and get my old XP computer some more memory so DH will have it at his desk and stop stealing mine! :) Need a flat screen monitor too as this big old one will dwarf his desk. Oh, and I need a wireless USB device to put on it so he can access the internet, or he'll be wanting mine for that too. |
Pat,
If your XP is 32-bit, even if you have 4 G of RAM it will be able to utilize only 3 G. You would need to step up to 64-bit OS. Although I have no clue how much you have right now and to what you are planning to upgrade. Sorry to hear about your friend. Hugs on the way. Alena |
P.S.
I did a Pilates class and a Zumba class. But somehow I didn't enjoy Zumba as much as I usually do. I had to leave 15 minutes before the end because I felt dizzy. We cannot open the window in the studio (that's also a "novelty" - there is now a big bolt on the window) and I just felt like there was no air at all. |
Hi all,
I'm back! Alena: thanks for the concern. I arrived monday, so after the big storm hit but no damage here, fortunately! Just a lot of dead branches & stuff on the ground. Undoable to react on all the posts I've missed...I enjoyed myself immensly in CA, even tough I did not do any exercise and ate way too much deserts out of plan. I'm still getting over my jetlag and stiffness from the long plane rides. And I came home to see that the next trip is already lined up. I do not usually travel that much, but in 2 weeks I'm leaving for another trip, this time to Singapore! And after that I'm going to stay home for a nice long time. BTW: I took advantage of the low low prices on jeans in the US (compared to prices in Europe that is). 2 pair of levi's jeans, on sale in macy's...YES these are size 4 hugging my posterior!!! and since they are 5 or 10% elasthan, they feel very comfy and even too big on occasion. Sizing in macy's was funny...in Europe my size ranges from s to l depending on the brand. In macy's my size is s. hi to everyone Have a great day all, Rabbit |
Welcome back, rabbit  Glad you had a good time.
I'm leaving tomorrow morning to ski for 5 days and my knee is sliding sideways and making dreadful clicks! I think I'm getting a neoprene brace! |
Rabbit,
Nice to see you back and huge CONGRATS on the size 4 hugging your posterior!!!! Personally, I shoot for jeans with as little elasthan or lycra or whatever other stretchable stuff as possible. I find that with the higher percentage they tend to stretch out way too much after 2 days, but that's just me. Since I prefer jeans below my waist now I have a pair that after a few days I can take off without undoing the button and the zipper. They are my lowest riding jeans and also it's due to the fact that I more a rectangular shape than hourglass - I don't much in terms of hips/butt. Mel, Make sure you also pack some duct tape! You know it fixes pretty much everything. Just in case the neoprene brace is not enough. Humour aside - I hope your trip will be a blast and you will be zipping down the slopes like a Ferrari! Shannon, I wanted to say how much I think you almost every morning. I get quite early, earlier than I really need to (but it's my choice as I feed my dogs 1/3 of their daily food in the morning and I need to allow them a reasonable time to digest it a bit and have several potty breaks before I leave) and usually watch the HGTV channel while having my gallon of coffee. They have this show, it's called My First Place and it seems they show house hunters mostly from Atlanta (although Chicago and Denver [hi Denver ] are also often represented) and I am absolutely drooling over the low prices of houses in Atlanta. Yesterday, a gal got an awesome 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house for $159,000. Here, it would be close to $300,000. Today was Atlanta again and a chick got a house that was listed for $399,000 (it was stunning). I don't know how much she got it for as I had to get cracking but I was questioning her sanity because she lived alone and although she obviously had a well paying job, she put 0 money down. That, to me, sounded like a recipe for disaster. Anyway, sorry for the detour. I am totally addicted to all house hunting and similar shows and I swear if humidity was not such an issue for me, I would seriously consider moving to Atlanta (and I would get a membership in Shannon's garage gym). :D |
A garage gym membership....LOL. That is entirely possible in this forum. I love it! :lol3:
Well Alena, I'll pack you along in my suitcase this week. There will be some house shopping in Fairfax after my trip next weekend. I'm heading out to DC tomorrow night. (What time will you be in the air Mel?) The next morning I will go back to Dulles and fly out to Puerto Rico. :goodvibes: I'm so freakin' excited that I forgot all about how frightened I should be since I'm leaving my comfort zone. (I don't fly well and that's an understatement.) It's not the planes...that I just accept I have no control over. It's the airports. I have this irrational fear that I will get lost going from gates to concourses to baggage especially where trams are involved. Speaking of outside comfort zones...I did something new today. I increased my backsquat to 135. I KNOW! I should have long past this weight...like a few years ago. I KNOW! Two things here. First big issue was...I needed a spot. I HATE to ask for a spot from the staff. I know it's their job but I also know they would rather do anything else but spot so I just don't bother anyone. Two, I knew I was ready for the 45lb plates, I had inched my way up there adding plates each week. It's just that they LOOK so big. Anyway. I got my spotter, who needed to finish eating his glazed doughnut first, (sigh) and loaded up the plates. I'm in position and he's standing behind me and says, "okay, you know how I have to do this right..." Uhm. yeah. I'm trying not to think about it. lol. I was able to squat this weight for eight reps in the first set. It was surprisingly light! Why is that? I think I could have easily added another twenty pounds. I learned a new technique that really makes the squat so much easier and less taxing on the back. Here's the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kawBY...eature=channel Mel: I'm worried about your knees. OMG. Their sliding! SLIDING?! Please be careful out there! Please. And have a great time! Out on the slopes, not curled up on the coach nursing an injury. (Sending all good karma vibes to you) K. LOTS to do. Laundry, packing, homework to collect, emails to wrap up, realtors to contact, nails to bite... |
Zoom through post. I'm still a bit jet lagged and swamped in work. On top of that, work issues, and I have to prepare for my next trip, in about 2 weeks, to singapore. I do not see much exercise in the near future. OTOH: I love to travel & this is a great opportunity, so :yoga: and go on, and I'm trying to enjoy every moment of the ride.
Lydia  enjoy your holiday! Cheryl, Birch how are you guys doing? everyone Rabbit |
 hello. First time on a proper computer for ages. Just back from my GP and I'm about to start a course of Antibiotics for the Hard Core. Wish me luck as I am rather fed-up of feeling under par. But, on the other hand, I have lost a stone since around Christmas. That is 14lbs. I've been working the Beck stuff (cognitive behavioural therapy) and not working out (the nasty virus etc). I am not analysing this stuff but just accepting and absorbing it into my life. :D I'm doing something right so let's just carry on with the party.
Shannon - I can't remember the last time I did any lifting other than day-to-day stuff (logs, bikes, cars, you know). I'm looking forward to it. How is the shoulder now? Rabbit - you jet-setter! How did the children and the grandparents bear up when you were away? Alena - we didn't have the big storm here, thankfully. I am on the western seaboard of Britain, about a third of the way up, and sheltered by Ireland. Quote:
Everyone I've missed  |
Birchie,
Congrats on the lost stone! Wow!!! :cp::bravo: Nice to see you again. BTW, I think you no longer need to work on your posture - it appears that yours is already purr-fect! I miss lifting as well. I planned to go to the gym last night but did not make it for several reasons so instead I hopped on the treadmill. I did a bit of HIIT, just to test what the foot (and the back) can handle. I am fine today, and quite happy about it. I won't be able to use the treadmill as much as I used to but I should be good for a least one intensive HIIT once a week. We shall see. Lydia, I would love to go on the house hunting trip with you and I would also love to go down south with you! Not to mention that I would LOOOVE to go to Singapore with Rabbit! That sounds heavenly. The food there!!! Well, I would not be able to go clothes shopping there for sure because I am pretty sure no women there need 34" inseam jeans. (Not to mention the boobs). :D Mel is probably airborne already - bon voyage! Denver, Shannon, where are you? Are where is Midwife hiding? Alena |
Alena - I'm here, just running around crazy the last two days. I did exercise, though! And come on to Atlanta! Lots of houses in my subdivision are selling right now, actually. Including the one I am in (5BR, 3 bath, currently selling at $185,000) or the cute little split level 3BR, unfinished in law suite downstairs, 3 bath that sold for $160,000. I'll be glad to give you a membership in my garage gym! :dizzy: I love those house shopping shows, too...
Birch - I got some good strength work done on Tuesday. My weight capacity has gone down in the last month, though... i had just moved up to 20lb DBs for some exercises before the injury. (Which now that I think about it might have been part of the problem, too.. ) and Tuesday I was right back at 12lb. My left arm has always been weaker than my right, and this didn't help. Shoulder feels good today, though every other muscle in my body aches... :dizzy: Hope you start feeling better soon! Rabbit - welcome home! Glad you had a good trip! Pat - sorry about your friend. Mel - be careful with that knee. The sound of that makes me nervous. Lydia - airports freak me out a little, too. And high five on the back squat! I would be somewhat hesitant to ask for a spotter, too... So does anyone have a link to a video or picture of the YWLT exercise sequence? I saw one before, but can't find it no matter how much googling I do... Hello all!
Silver, your sense of humor is very refreshing! You made me smile today - thank you! Hope you feel better soon. Alena, I'm here, I'm here! Just hanging on. But I'm here. Hope you are feeling better. My injury is the L5 & SI joint. It's not fun, I can't recommend it. ;-) How are you feeling? Mel, there are some cool sculptures up in the mountains if they haven't melted yet! Breckenridge has the snow sculptures, and Lawrence Argent (he did the famous Blue Bear sculpture) has an ice sculpture in Vail. Until it melts. Take good care of your knee & your family and have a blast! Shannon, do listen to your body and don't injure yourself again. You rock for staying with the routine! I only have a few minutes but wanted to say hello to all! It's almost Friday! :carrot: |
I think my bronchitis might finally be going away!
I have been lurking because I've been sick. I went to karate the past 2 nights and did fairly well although I wouldn't have gone on Tuesday except our belt test is coming up and need the practice/criticism. Anyway, I am thinking about buying adjustable dumbbells and I like bowflex but I've read some reviews that seem to indicate that there is a possibility that the plates can come loose and fall on you. So I was looking at power blocks and I wanted their "sport" which means 2.5 lb increments. I only used the power blocks at physical therapy and only for squats so I don't have much experience in them. I really want 2.5 increments overall because sometimes a 5 lb jump seems too much. I also can only find regular dumbbells in 5 lb increments now which is one reason I was thinking of going adjustable. Any body have any suggestions? ideas? |
Nelie - I like the power block idea, too. I like the 2.5 lb intervals. I have been able to find dumbbells in the 3 pound interval at play it again sports sometimes. I saw that review about the bowflex plates slipping loose. Power blocks get good reviews as best as I can tell. Glad you are on the mend!
Denver - thanks for the encouragement! I didn't do as good of a job of staying on program as I would have liked, but I'm getting back in the groove. :) |
Guys,
What do you do when you have a bad headache? Do you exercise through it? Out of nowhere, a splitting headache possessed my head (I usually don’t have too many headaches with the exception of TOM) – I was planning to try a kickboxing class (from what I have seen I think it’s a mishmash of everything rather than true kickboxing but it looked like fun) and I am thinking I may have to nix that plan. I already had strong coffee and 2 Advils and it’s not letting up. |
I would stop drinking coffee, drink a fair bit of water (dehydrated?) and check how tense my upper body was. Also think whether I was constipated. I wouldn't exercise, I'd probably go to bed and hope to sleep it off. Make sure the bedroom's ventilated.
That's where I am now (bed) so I'll wish you all good night. Hope it goes soon, Alena. |
I'm here. Spent yesterday in Anchorage meeting two out-of-town friends for a long (2+ hours) lunch. THen I spent an hour or so at the computer store getting our old PC in shape for DH (ALena, I'm confused about 32-bit vs 64-bit, though I know I have 32.... ).
Today I'm feeling under the weather. My stomach is "off" - not quite queasy, though I have the headache that goes along with that, but sort of fluttery. Food is not interesting me so I know that something's not right. I'm not going to the gym, but I may try a nap. Alena - I can't exercise with a bad headache. It gets worse if I do, and has led to vomiting in the past. Ick. (But I've suffered from migraines since middle school, so my history is different than yours) Birch - hope these antibiotics finally do the trick! Shannon - glad that the shoulder is feeling some better. Rabbit - you'll be over the jet lag just in time to take off again. :) |
Nelie,
I have these Iron Master quick lock dumbells http://www.ironmaster.com/store/images/T/t_2.jpg 5-75lb per dumbell and 1 1/4lb platemates fit nice and securely to the end caps which would allow you to go up in 2 1/2 lb increments. A bit more expensive than powerblocks, but a bit less bulky and you can get the add-on package to go up to 120lbs per dumbell. |
Depalma, those look nice, do stores carry those?
We are going to go to a couple fitness stores this weekend to look at our options. Costco had an Ironman version but reviews were mixed, some people said that the plates could get unlocked and drop. |
I don't know if they are available in stores. I bought mine straight from the Iron Master website. They don't seem to have a list of retailers that might carry their products on their site. Their is a contact form, though, so perhaps you can inquire through that.
I've never had plates come off on mine. Even if you don't tighten the end cap fully, the spin lock would have to make a few revolutions before unlocking so I don't think it would be an issue. |
Wow, Depalma. Now I want those. I like the fact that they come with enough weight plates to fully load both dumbbells, unlike some of the other ones that I have seen. I have to find a way to have them...
|
Nice toys, Depalma. :smug:
My headache decreased (to a reasonable degree) after I got home from work, but I missed the kickboxing class. At first, I thought I would have to abandon the plan to exercise altogether but later I felt good enough to go to the Pilates class at least. There was only a handful of us and she stepped it up a notch, and it was a bit taxing for my lower back, but I am reasonably ok today. I snuck out for a 40 minute :swim: after 1pm. It was lovely, hardly anybody in the pool and for a while, I was actually the only person in the entire pool until some new swimmers arrived but that was only a few minutes before I was leaving. I think I will take a breather tonight and hopefully do some weights tomorrow and the hot yoga. Wish me luck. I worry that after 90 minutes all that will be left from me would be a big greasy spot on the floor. :D Pat, I used to get a LOT of headaches but they eye-related and after I had an eye surgery, the headaches are almost non-existent (other than an exceptional one like yesterday and a few days before TOM, those are normal). But I ate my share of Advil before I had the surgery. Lydia, Lookie lookie - I found you a lovely house! Not exactly in Fairfax, VI but I'm sure after you see it you won't mind. I would have expected the kitchen to be nicer (for a house of that price category) but I absolutely love the living room windows (the view of the yard), and the sunroom: Clicky (make sure to click the More button to see all the pics) BF sent me this article: Popcorn That sounds like a healthy snack - 3 tablespoons of veg. oil, 3 tablespoons of butter, 2 tablespoons of truffle oil - sheesh! :fr: Everybody, have a nice weekend. Alena |
Alena - I drove around my subdivision this morning and was amazed at how many houses they are building right now! We are a 60 lot subdivision, only 23 of them were built for most of the last three years. Now all of a sudden they have sold 5, have contracts on 5 others, and are building on all but about four of the lots in the subdivision. Kind of cool! I think you will enjoy the hot yoga, though you may feel like a puddle on the floor after. I always did! Glad your head settled down yesterday.
Pat - hope the stomach feels better today. Birch - hope you are feeling better today, too! Good weekend everyone... |
Thanks, Shannon. I do feel better today. I had a great LB workout. Maybe it was 2 days rest, but for whatever reason it went really well, and I was able to up the weights on the two different lunges. :) We get a new workout schedule on Monday, so I'll post it for you.
I also picked up the PC monitor I found on Craig's List. It's a flat screen, but the square size. DH doesn't really like the rectangular one on the new PC (but he tolerates it, along with the new TV  ). Then I went to the grocery store near where I met the woman with the monitor. It's a Costco wannabe, and they have several things we can't get in our local grocery, and better prices on toiletries and paper goods. Finally to the gym, then home. I've showered and had lunch. I'm about to go get dressed and head off to Anchorage for dinner (and a few errands). It's been snowing off and on, so I hope the forecasters are right and it'll taper off soon. Have a great evening everyone. |
Thanks Pat! Always looking for new workouts! :) Glad you are on the mend - sometimes the rest helps more than anything else. :high: on the increased lunge weight!
