Hi there, all

Hey, we need a new forum: Perimenopause, menopause and Bodybuilding! Course that would scare off any newbies for sure LOL!

Meg- Thanks for the PM. I really appreciate the information. I'm adding a little more cardio this week , which is officially C2W12, but I'm not taking a break til I leave for vacation July 4th. Biking in France! When I get back, I'm going to play around some with the nutrition, because nothing's happening. I may be begging for some help around mid-July.

Lana- know what you mean about not looking/feeling your age compared to others. I really believe that this is the fountain of youth. At least until I get hurt, then I feel about 90.

I met a woman today at the gym who is preparing for a BB contest in NY in September. To be honest, she doesn't look ready for it even 3 months out, but I'm gonna watch her carefully and see what she's doing. She asked me what I was training for :) and I gave her my usual answer (just want to look like it...) and she said yeah, that's what she used to say too. Kinda funny.

Anybody heard from Susanje?

Dang! I just lost my last post - let's try that again...

Mel - just wanted to say - you might want to change your nutrition a bit - your workouts sound right on to me ;) After two Challenges, I switched from BFL eating to other plans. I was REALLY jazzed with my results with Camp Pam B - especially since when I was in Miami, I really blew it (the restaurants are WAY too good there) but still had excellent results. What's cool about CPB is that it's PERSONALIZED by Pam herself - each week she sends you a new menu and grocery list - and she's always asking about progress or willing to help with questions, etc.

After two 8-week sessions of CPB, I was ready for a change-up so now I'm doing GetLean - a program designed by Keith Klein (and which was used by so many competitors - guys AND gals - on L&S - check out swlsue's comp photos). Gonna do GetLean for about 3 months and then take it from there.

Based on my own personal experience, as well as countless others on L&S - again, gals AND guys - is that the best way of feeding your body is not only to feed it frequent small CLEAN meals 2-3 hours apart - but to zig-zag those calories a bit. IMO, if you eat the same amount of calories every day your metabolism will compensate and adjust - making it harder to shed that bodyfat. You know all about 'starvation mode' I'm sure, so I won't go into that here.

I was on the Krista Smash website this morning and she just posted a GREAT article on body fat - I encourage all of you to check it out - good meaty info there: http://www.stumptuous.com/bodyfat.html

Gotta jam - I have YET ANOTHER meeting next week and I have stuff to do!!! But before I leave I wanted you all to see the picture of my DREAM horse...the horse I have fallen in love with...her name is Tricia and she is such a sweetie! Hoping that by next year I'll be financially solvent enough to support an equine! Take care all!

Hello to everyone.

I am hanging in doing my HotPoint Fitness, but with a little help from BFL and BodyRx.

My diet has been off for about a week, I had some stomach pain which was increasing with high fiber foods. so doc put me on Zantac and told me to eat BRAT(bananas, rice, applesauce and toast), well there's not much protein there, but i snuck some in.
Tried carrots and fiberone cereal yesterday and pain came back, so lunch today was rice with pp added. So far no stomach pain.

But I am NOT letting this affect my workouts or committment to working out. This week in fact, I started seeing some real definition in the shoulder area.

Iwil be picking up my dog from vets today, she had back surgery on Tuesday and will be recuperating for about 3 weeks.
today is no workout day so I can be home with dog.

have a good rest of the week(what's left of it)

Re: Hiya Shonda!

Hi quad. No, actually I am doing a workout I got out of M&F Hers. It is a mix of circuit training, heavy sets, supersets and high reps. Something different each week. SO far I really like it. I have also been picking Robins brain and decided to do the beverly faxBaxk diet that she did. I have 71 days to get my butt in gear for my hubbys high school reunion.

:)
