Do you like feeling sore? I feel a little sore - especially in my thighs today, and it feels GOOD. I used to love weight training and haven't done it seriously in a long time, so I was taking it kinda slow a few months - but last night I really lifted heavy... isn't it no pain, no gain in lifting?
I like the 'sore' feeling you get from lifting but not over doing. I too am just getting back into it after quite a long hiatus. I agree that you have to do enough to feel it but I'm not sure if I'd go as far as pain.
YES and NO. No to the initial bone aching pain you get after a break. That kills me. Yes to the heavy workout that makes you feel like you're growing some new muscle. Love that kind!
There is good pain. : There is bad pain. It is wise to know the difference.
My tip as someone who has since recovered from a stress fracture six months ago.
So, in the midst of this right now, I think I'd describe it as more of a tightness sensation, when it's the good kind of sore. Thank goodness I was spared the bone aching soreness after my fbwo yesterday!
I like the soreness, too, but usually more in retrospect than during the soreness itself.
When I restarted lifting, I overdid it on my first leg day. The second-day sores were an absolutely b****. I was so sore that I had to grab the toilet paper holder on my way down to a pee, lest I fall in. Whenever the lighter of our two cats -- a mere 11 pounds -- landed in my lap, I winced in pain. And I had to try to walk down stairs without bending my knees or putting weight on my legs, which is damned near impossible.
For some reason, DH and The Boy thought all this was tremendously amusing. I live to entertain.
